2011-2013 Professional Development Plan Timeline Begin: May 15, 2011 End: May 14, 2013 Action Deadline Faculty members select the Compensation Level for the 2011May 15, 2011- December 14, 2012 2013 cycle (make selection in the PD Planning Tool) Note: Compensation Level can be changed up to December 14, 2012 Enter planned activities in the online PD Planning Tool for Dean/Director approval Note: Make sure to get Dean/Director approval via the online PD Planning Tool prior to beginning the activity Spring Annual Evaluation (2011/2012): Discuss goals for professional development for the upcoming academic year(s) PD Plan, including final selection of Compensation Level and final approval of all planned activities, must be uploaded in the online PD Planning Tool Note: PD Plan must be approved by both the faculty member and the Dean/Director Completed PD Plan, including all supporting documentation for all activities, must be uploaded in the online PD Planning Tool. Sign the HR 26 Form (completed and provided by the Dean/Director) Payment for completion of the PD Plan

•At least 3 different Professional Development activities must be completed

•At least 6 different Professional Development activities must be completed

•A minimum of 5 hours in Pedagogy

•A minimum of 10 hours in Pedagogy

•A maximum of 5 hours in Other Professional Development

•A maximum of 10 hours in Other Professional Development

•A minimum of 25 hours is required for this level.

•A minimum of 50 hours is required for this level.


Sources and Methods of Documentation of PD Plan Completion Documentation of specific activities completed in any one of the forms noted below: a. Transcript of successful completion (from Atlas or Leadership Valencia for college-sponsored activities; university; licensure board; conference attendance evidence). b. Action Research project (online template is currently available). c. Statement of application to practice (brief reflective statement or self-assessment of activity). d. Examples of application to practice (innovation; lesson plan; student work, etc.).
