Seminar Details & Monthly Activities PRFC2161 Creating an Individualized Learning Plan This hybrid course provides TLA participants an overview of the Essential Competencies of a Valencia Educator. Participants also learn how to create an effective Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). The face-to-face kickoff introduces the TLA participants to Valencia’s learning management system (LMS) and to the ILP concept. In the face-to-face wrap-up session, TLA participants review each other’s ILPs. The face-to-face Kickoff introduces the TLA participants to WebCT6 and to the ILP concept. LOBP2131 Learning Outcomes-based Practice This Essential Competency seminar focuses on student learning as the central goal of a Valencia educator’s practice and introduces the concept of outcomebased learning. Participants will examine their practice through the lens of the key questions in the College’s learning-centered mission: “What will the students be able to know or do?” and “How will you know they can do it?”

Candidate sends ILP draft #2 to each member of Review Panel, 3 faculty members and dean/director. 2 weeks prior to Y-1 Review (Review meetings occur between 4/16 and 6/8)
After meeting, Review Panel sends written report within 2 weeks of meeting to candidate and Celine Kavalec-Miller; all reports must be submitted by June 22. If revision of Faculty Learning Outcome Statement(s) (FLOs) is required, candidate submits revised statements to Dean/Director within 2 weeks of receipt of Y-1 report. Dean/Director approves the revised statements, so candidate can begin implementing FLOs. No panel meeting needed to approve FLO revisions.
July/Aug
Dean meets again with the candidate to discuss any changes to the Faculty Learning Outcome, if needed.
Revised Faculty Learning Outcome Statements must be submitted to dean/director two weeks after receipt of Y-1 Report OR by July 1, whichever comes first. th
Approved resubmitted ILP's sent to Candidate no later than July 20 . Candidates develop plans for Faculty Learning Outcome implementation in the summer/fall.
Meetings with Campus Facilitator are encouraged as needed. You will be contacted regularly or you may contact us.
