PRE-3RD GRADE GREEN SCHOOL DESIGN Havana For this Project, the goal was to design an elementary school for students from pre k-3rd grade. It included a library/media room, art room and a playground with an indoor/multi- purpose room. We were also given the task to design a bus drop off area for students and separate it from the parents pick up/drop off area. Below are the site plan, floor plans, diagrams and the layout idea (centeralized). The school is designed in a “centralized”and “radial organization. The sidewalks connect to all parts of the school, Including the center building which is the multi-purpose building. The main materials used were wood, recycled from the trees that were cut down, brick, and metal.

PARKING GARAGE AND OFFICE BUILDING Tallahassee, FL For this project, the class was asked to design an office building located downtown Tallahassee at the intersection of West Tennessee and North Monroe. The main focus was on the office building and how each student would come up with a design based on the climate and weather conditions as well as how it “fits within the context of downtown. There were some environmental issues that came with this site. These were the pedestrian traffic, sun path and views. To solve these issues, the following was done: Create outdoor plaza in front of the building to provide pedestrian interaction as well as attraction to the building. Left side of the building is recessed with balconies to provide shading. Right side of the building will have ribbon windows to maximize daylighting and also horizontal louvers to shade the building. Curtain walls will be placed on the south facade to create indoor/outdoor interaction.

COCA COLA BUILDING/ UNIVERSITY CENTER Atlanta, GA This project was done on a site located in Atlanta. The goal was to design an office building and university center for the World of Coke. The Challenge was to design a sky bridge that connected this site to Centennial Park (across the street), making an easier access for pedestrians needing to cross the street. In the sketched diagram, the design layout features two separate buildings for the university and the office building. By doing this, a courtyard is also formed that the users of the buildings can use.

In these sketches for creative development, we used interlocking tectonics which emphasizes on movement. The pilotis, elevating the mass off the ground. Our design allows light to be filtered into the building through our atrium and the louver screens. Water is captured and used as grey water. The recessed balconies naturally create shaded spaces.

PROFESSIONAL OFFICE BUILDING Mobile, AL This project was a group a group project. The task was to design an office building in Mobile Alabama, giving it a modern feel and still keeping some traditional style of designs used in Alabama. There were some local issues that needed to be addressed: Air quality, coastal quality, contextual relevance, noise control and future planning. Local oak wood used for exterior and wood flooring on interior. Naturally ventilated atrium system, minimally air conditioned. Green roofs/balconies reduce co2 emissions and they also improve overall air quality.

05

ENTERTAINMENT PLACE Mobile, AL This objective of this project was to design an entertainment place in Mobile, Alabama. it consist of both a large and small performance hall, bar/restaurant, outdoor cafe, retail, space, offices/administration. There is a public park directly across from the site which was taken into consideration and an attempt was made to make a connection between the two.

INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM The Caribbean This project features a museum located in the Caribbean along a beach front. This museum included a gallery space, gift shop, restaurant etc. Because the idea of the museum was to be located in the Caribbean, bright vibrant colors were used to create a tropical scenery. The site used was simply the Revit topography template with a few changes in the landscape of the site such as the different heights.

SKETCHING/ ART SKILLS I have been a fan of art my entire life. As a kid I watched my older cousin draw/ paint etc. and I picked it up rather quickly. I have excellent skills in freehand drawing, ink rendering, prisma color markers as well as painting. The following are a few examples.
