Mobile, Alabama
CONCEPT Mobile, Alabama is steeped in a rich eclectic musical history such as jazz and the blues. The Mobile Entertainment Center seeks to create a place where such musical genres and talents will constantly be on display. Hence, the main idea behind the design is to make the building as transparent as possible. So much so that the building itself become a stage. To see and be seen is the objective.

CENTER [CONCEPT] The concept of the redesign is
The concept of the redesign is based on the design opposition of hide and reveal. This is achieved through varying the levels of opacity throughout the building.
As persons from the exterior pass the
structure the glazing located at the street level are frosted so that only the lights and silhouettes
based on the design opposition
of
those inside can be seen. However, balconies on various levels give one a selective glimpse into the grand lobby space. Views of the lobby can also be seen through a perforated metal skin. Metaphorically, the smooth flowing movement of the organic exterior skin seeks to speak to the fluid

As an architectural museum the building should educate its visitors as to what architecture is. A great appreciation for the craft can be fostered by demonstrating through the building the absence of architecture.

The suspended glass gallery highlights and thus celebrates the form and the form creates identity.

The juxtapositioning of the light, floating glass form with the heavy, grounded masonry wall helps to emphasize hierarchy . Varying levels of transparency found in each material makes reference to a level of hierarchy as well, and implies the building’s program.

DESIGN APPROACH In a museum it is the meandering of people through its spaces that makes it a museum . It is not just a glorified storage facility for artifacts but a place where persons can learn and discover . Therefore, ones experience is influenced by the procession through the space and this design seeks to highlight that.

Urban Intervention - Proposed Master Plan
Proposed Master Plan Design Concepts

Hart Bridge and Commodore Point Expressway was lowered to grade level. Convert riverside to a concession of walkable areas and parks. Introduce condominiums on the riverfront which will provide residence with water front views. Stagger the placement of parking spaces throughout the city especially near major sporting complexes. Create blocks near sporting complex that are occupied by retail. This will act as pedestrian only areas during game days. Place signature buildings in strategic locations organizing them so they create and define the urban edge. Create a university hub and add a branch library that is visibly connected to a proposed museum. Extend the transportation access (i.e. trolley route) from the existing urban area to proposed area. Introduce nodes to create special areas that shows the relationship between the urban fabric and architectural expression. Ritualize Hogan's Creek . This will act as a major connecting artery between mixed use and retail areas. Also, add a bike and walk path along the edge.

Multi –use building
Design a multi-use building along with a parking garage on the corner of Tennessee street and Munroe, Tallahassee, Florida. Incorporate some of Le Corbusier’s five points of architecture and two principles of design .
Corner facade on Tennessee and Munroe St. was expressed by an abstract composition of the number 90 , the highway number for Tennessee street . Vertical sun shading fins were used on the western side. While extended concrete slab overhangs were incorporated on the south side of the building. Design principles: Rhythm – seen in the repetitive staggering placement of southern shading fins Repetition -seen on the western fins. Five points of architecture incorporated in design :free facade, and open floor plans
