Proposed Site
Intervention Site Existing City Zones
Gator / Sports District
This district was chosen as the primary area of study due to its lack of urban fabric and very low levels in urban density. Outlined by Hogan's Creek and the St. John’s river the region has mostly event based buildings located within the district namely (the Gator Bowl Stadium, the Jacksonville Baseball Grounds and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena) the density would fluctuate during event days. Currently majority of the waterfront properties are empty brown fields with the Hart Bridge Express Way visually separates the water front from the inland portion of the district. Existing Site Conditions
The area also have the Jacksonville Fire Museum and the metropolitan Park located on the easterly portion on the St. John’s River waterfront.
