ProFFuture 2013 Project concept


ProFFuture – national IC GCDP project of AIESEC in Ukraine is aimed at activating leadership among students, giving them a platform to make decisions about the future, and to help them identify the values, strengths and weaknesses, personal and professional goals. Purpose of the project: To provide knowledge about employment market in Ukraine and features of different professions, to develop personal and professional skills. Target audience: high school students aged 13-16 years. It’s possible to involve children from orphanages. Goals of the project:  Explore and identify professional skills of pupils and students  Develop career-related skills  Inspire pupils and students for self-discovery and development  Run goal-setting process for pupils and students  Activate leadership skills  Increase the level of English language skills  Broaden worldview of pupils and provide information about different occupations and professions  Create visible impact in the shortest time Project results:  Project conducted in 14 cities of Ukraine;  Attracted total of 3,000 participants;  The project involved 160 interns;  Each city participating in the project, conducted Fair of universities for students.  For the Fair of universities the largest and the most prestigious universities in cities are involved. Time of project: 14.01.2013 - 03.03.2013 Description of Project: Project ProFFuture 2013 will be held in 14 cities of Ukraine: Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, Lugansk, Mariupol, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Simferopol, Ternopil, Zaporizhzhya, Uzhhorod. During the project interns will work with children and conduct the seminars, workshops, discussions and games in career counseling for them. The project can be supported by external experts. They can be workers of the centers of employment, partners and representatives of different professions (for example pupils’ parents).


During the project pupils should have a chance to meet successful representatives of 7-10 totally different professions (teacher, doctor, constructer, engineer, software developer, lawyer, accountant, architect, psychologist, translator, journalist, writer, biologist, pharmacist, marketer, seller). One of the externals can be a happy wife with few children. The main idea is that pupils should understand that they can be happy working in any profession they really like.

       

The main topics included: Skills and competencies – what’s that? Why should we develop personal and professional skills? How to develop our competencies? How to make own CV? How to go through the interview process? Main trends in education. Labor market in Ukraine. Foreign countries presentation. AIESEC presentation and other possibilities for development. Positive psychology. Personal and professional goal setting.

Interns can take part in Middle Conference (MidCo): 31.01.2013 – 02.02.2013

   

The aims of the conference are: to provide the space for networking between interns from different LCs to create the atmosphere, time and place for feedback between interns and Organizing Committee to ensure the smooth process of working in schools, feedback and improve the program sharing best case practices.

The final event of the project will be the Fair of universities in each of the cities participating in the project, on which representatives of the largest and most prestigious universities in the city will present their educational opportunities for pupils and describe the advantages exactly theirs universities.
