hotography is the art, science, and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film, or electronically by means of an image sensor. Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. The result in an electronic image sensor is an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing.
The result in a photographic emulsion is an invisible latent image, which is later chemically developed into a visible image, either negative or positive depending on the purpose of the photographic material and the method of processing. A negative image on film is traditionally used to photographically create a positive image on a paper base, known as a print, either by using an enlarger or by contact printing. Photography has many uses for business, science, manufacturing, art, recreational purposes, and mass communication.

Scientists have used photography to record and study movements, such as Eadweard Muybridge’s study of human and animal locomotion in 1887. he camera is the image-forming device, and photographic film or a silicon electronic image sensor is the sensing medium. The respective recording medium can be the film itself, or a digital electronic or magnetic memory. Photographers control the camera and lens to “expose” the light recording material (such as film) to the required amount of light to form a “latent image” (on film) or RAW file (in digital cameras) which, after appropriate processing, is converted to a usable image. Digital cameras use an electronic image sensor based on light-sensitive electronics such as charge-coupled device (CCD) or complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology. The resulting digital image is stored electronically, but can be reproduced on paper or film. The camera (or ‘camera obscura’) is a dark room or chamber from which, as far as possible, all light is excluded except the light that forms the image. The subject being photographed, however, must be illuminated. Cameras can range from small to very large, a whole room that is kept dark while the object to be photographed is in another room where it is properly illuminated. This was common for reproduction photography of flat copy when large film negatives were used (see Process camera). A general principle known from the birth of photography is that the smaller the camera, the brighter the image. This meant that as soon as photographic materials became sensitive enough (fast enough) to take candid or what were called genre pictures, small detective cameras were used, some of them disguised as a tie pin that was really a lens, as a piece of luggage or even a pocket watch (the Ticka camera). ShikharSharma Interview With
Interviewer : I don’t think you need an introduction but as a part of the formality, can you please tell me a little about yourself.
Shikhar Sharma : I am an International Marketing graduate working
in financial service sector. Along with this profession, I manage my passion for photography. It started as a hobby, but with appreciation from amateurs and experts alike, the hobby got serious.
Interviewer : So when did you feel like having a passion for photography?
Shikhar Sharma : Right from childhood, capturing and recording
moments fascinated me. In fact, it was my constant prodding that brought the first camera into my family. I was only 12 when my father gifted me a camera for an academic achievement. Those were the days when photography had a recurring cost to it and every click meant around 5-7 rupees spent. With my limited pocket money, I could hardly be innovative and experimental. But I exploited every opportunity to click. For the same reason, I don’t figure in childhood albums as I was always behind the lens.
Interviewer : WOW!That’s Nice. Can you share the first picture you took and tell us something about the picture.
Shikhar Sharma : Well, that would be long back. And how I wish I
had saved it. But from the recent past I can share with you the first pic I took with a DSLR. I took it from my brother’s camera, who later even gifted me my first DSLR. Jan 14 I The Kala Kaaris
Interviewer : You’re getting viral on internet day by day tell us something about your audience.
Shikhar Sharma : I generally post my photos on my facebook page
(www.fb.com/ShikharSharmaPhotography) and have also recently started posting mobile-clicked photos on instagram (ShikharF8). Though I am present on almost all the social media platforms, these two avenues form 70% of my active audience. My audience has been very kind to me always. They have been very interactive and supportive of the work that I post.

Interviewer : 5. Apart from Photography what do you actually do? Shikhar Sharma : I work for a private bank in Mumbai. I invest a lot of time on doing new things. I have been a DJ as well. Currently, I am learning to play djembe.
Interviewer :Who was the person who most influenced you, and how?
Shikhar Sharma : I guess the days of one single person influenc-
ing someone, are gone. In the days of internet, there is a huge herd of personalities that can influence you. I have been most influenced, motivated and trained by the internet I would say.
Interviewer :If you hadn’t become a photographer, what might you have done?’
Shikhar Sharma : I would have been doing something with the music or maybe become a footballer. Who knows!
Interviewer : Last but not least, can you share with us, the most memorable moments of your career and life?
Shikhar Sharma : This very moment.
