Randy and Debi Raper are the owners of Aire Serv Heating & Air Conditioning. Aire Serv, located in Bixby, is family owned and operated and provides HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) services throughout the Tulsa metro area. The Aire Serv team includes the couple’s three sons, Jordan, Colton and Ethan. Randy was born and raised in Bixby and literally grew up in the heating and air conditioning business owned by his father. Aire Serv provides residential and small commercial service, replacements and installations for all brands. “When you call during business hours,” said Debi, “your call will be answered (continued on page 24)
by a person, not a recording or answering service. And if you call after business hours, we strive to get back to you promptly.” “We live by our code of values,” said Jordan, oldest of
the three sons. You’ll find the words respect, integrity, and customer focus in the code. Each family member wants to treat others as they like to be treated, and they listen with the intent of understanding

Looking for a day of fun, music and art that the entire family will enjoy? Make plans to be in downtown Jenks on Saturday, October 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Art on Main. Art on Main aims to create access to a broad array of arts experiences, to nurture the development and understanding of diverse art forms, and to expand the depth and breadth of cultural life in Oklahoma. This oneday festival has been growing steadily over the years, and organizers anticipate 10,000 attendees. As Art on Main celebrates its eleventh year,
the festival promises to be the best yet, showcasing some of the finest art and music from the region and bringing some fresh attractions to downtown Jenks. There will be plenty of entertainment and activities for everybody. Live music is scheduled throughout the day, with special appearances by WillyEcho and Abbey Road. Demonstrations from the Just Gotta Dance Cloggers will round out the day’s performances. Organizers expect over a hundred Oklahoma artists and vendors this year.
Nick DeMoss, director of communications for the Jenks Chamber of Commerce, is proud of the fact that Art on Main puts the focus on local art and music. “Every artist and performer is from Oklahoma,” he explains. “One of the requirements during the submission and selection process is that they reside in our state.” The festival is a great opportunity for local and regional artists to engage with the public and for fans to meet the person behind the art. ASK THE MONEY MAVEN STRAIGHT-FORWARD, NO-NONSENSE TALK ABOUT YOUR MONEY
Investing in Others BY MELANIE HASTY-GRANT
There is so much negative news out there. If you watch TV or read the newspaper, you will notice that it often seems driven by finding the worst of the worst in people, politics, business. It’s all about what is going wrong, who did something bad, and why you should be worried. In fact, there is a saying in the news world, “If it bleeds, it leads.” The reason that media is geared that way is because that is what we have shown them we are interested in. So why are we all so addicted to focusing on the negative? It has been proven that whatever you focus on, you get more of. So if we want to see more positive and meaningful moments in our own life, we have to focus on that in others. That is what Character Coin™ is all about. Here’s how it works. Watch for someone doing something good. Recognize them with a Character Coin™ and tell them what you caught them doing that was of good character. Let them know that they are now responsible for finding someone else doing
good and pay it forward. Go to Character Coin™ on Facebook or CharacterCoin.com and log in your story of giving or receiving the coin. The object of this life game is to keep the coin going and to focus on the good in others. We all need to be more intentional and conscious about what and who we allow in our lives. Focusing on negative thoughts and being around unsound, hurtful people can be detrimental to you and your family. Make a commitment to choose your thoughts and your friends wisely. Celebrate the good in others. Invest your time and energy and be a blessing to others. Remember,
the simple act of acknowledging something good in someone else can change their entire day, not to mention yours. Here at Waterstone Private Wealth Management, we focus on the very best in you and your family. We want to help you invest your time, your energy, and your money in ways that bless you and prepare you for the future you have dreamt of. Help us promote good character by sharing Character Coins™ with your church, your school, your business, and your organizations. You can pick up your free Character Coins™ at Waterstone Private Wealth Management or you can sponsor your own set of coins by going to www.charactercoin.com. For more information about investing in yourself and others go to www.waterstonewealth.com or call 918-272-1120. By Sheryl Sowell
On Thursday, October 16, BA Med Spa & Weight Loss Center will host a special allday Sculptra® event featuring Dr. Ben J. Tittle, renowned plastic surgeon based in Dallas. “We are very excited to have Dr. Tittle travel here for this exciting event, where he will be performing Sculptra injections on patients. BA Med Spa will offer special, one-day-only pricing and the opportunity to speak with and receive injections from a very high profile plastic surgeon from Dallas,” says Melody Spacek, certified injector. Sculptra is the first facial injectable that gives you subtle results over time, replacing lost collagen and giving you a more natural-looking appearance, without giving it away that you have “had work done.” A full treatment of Sculptra, an average of three injection sessions over a few months, can last more than two years. large casinos, small businesses and family homes who demand the best security, networks and electrical systems. “Technology has changed,” says Dyson. A quick glance at everyday gadgets suggests that electronics have attained a new level of efficiency and ability. With Internet and cloud-based solutions becoming standard, electronic systems are now faster, smaller and are shedding redundant components. In the security industry, the effects of technological progress are noteworthy. Two decades ago, surveillance systems relied on VHS tapes to store video footage. A decade ago, DVR was standard. Now, cloud servers are simplifying Mike Eubanks, Megan Eubanks, and Kevin Dyson, owners of DLLS Systems and the process even Tel-Star Technologies. more. That is,

application that enables users to monitor and control devices while they are away. So, even when a user is on vacation for the holidays, he or she can log in and view video footage, turn on lights or even turn off the sprinklers. “We don’t want to walk into a building and see a lighting system and say, ‘Wow, who did this?’ We want to be the ones installing these systems that wow people,” says Mike Eubanks, head of TelStar Technologies. Eubanks and Dyson are longtime friends who cut their teeth at large technology companies. As technology evolved and the larger companies moved on, they both found themselves providing services for longtime clients with unique needs the former companies couldn’t meet. Recognizing a demand for customized services they specialized in, Eubanks and Dyson struck out on their own. “The trend with the larger security companies is to go out and win as many accounts as possible,” says Dyson. “We don’t view our customers as numbers; we build relationships,” he says.
digital video footage is stored on a server off site, or “up in the cloud,” as some are fond of saying. Now, as Dyson puts it, “it’s just cameras and cloud storage.” Cameras, too, have become remarkably more effective, compared to their predecessors. Not long ago, security cameras were bulky and obvious. In some cases, their effectiveness relied as much on the perception of being watched as the likelihood that anyone was actually monitoring in real time. Now, video cameras are subtle and reliably transmit footage in real time over high speed Internet. And, since administrators are able to view on computers (and even smartphones) safely off-site at any time, the would-be criminals’ perception they cannot escape the so-called “eye in the sky” is a reality. “Customers save a couple thousand dollars,” says Dyson of recent breakthroughs in technology. DLSS Systems offers turn-key security systems for remarkably reasonable rates. Currently, they offer a 2-gig security package that includes three doors, a motion sensor and control panel. “The system can handle up to 40 devices, and you can get it for around $99,” notes Dyson. Upgrading with video cameras, motion sensors-to-live monitoring and cloud storage for archives is simple. The efficient and affordable approach extends to lighting and appliance automation as well, which not only eases everyday life, but saves on energy costs and enhances security. Time to Chicken Dance The 2014 Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa will take place October 16-19.
By Stacey Roggendorff
Tulsa’s largest fall festival turns 36 this year. Set for October 16-19, Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa is located at River West Festival Park on the west bank of the beautiful Arkansas River, and offers four days of authentic German celebration, including live music, games and, of course, food and drinks, among number other attractions. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children 12 and under. The Autobahn Pass and other ticket packages are available online, allowing patrons to purchase admission and festival money ahead of time and bypass lines. On Family Friday, admission to the festival is free from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The carnival offers unlimited rides from noon to 6 p.m. with the purchase of a $15 All-Rides Wristband. Paid parking is available near the festival grounds at $5 and $10, or patrons can ride the free shuttles, which run three routes through downtown, midtown and south Tulsa, near alternative parking areas. “The festival is a timehonored tradition for Tulsans and visitors alike,” says Festival Director Tonja Carrigg. Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa offers enter-
tainment, activities, and plenty of food and specialty beverages for everyone. It’s no surprise upwards of 60,000 people flock to Tulsa’s favorite Chicken Dance venue.” Live music is always a favorite and this year, several bands are traveling to Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa from Germany. Algäuer Alpincats, Die Wilderer and the Dorfrockers, who hail from the Bavaria region, will perform in Der Lufthansa BierGarten during the festival, including Wednesday’s popular Corporate Night, also known as Gemütlichkeit. Keeping with German tradition, five beer tents will feature a variety of great beer for all tastes. More than 50 domestic and import beers will be available, including premium brands such as Warsteiner, Spaten, Paulaner, Konig and Hofbrau. Beer tents include Der Lufthansa BierGarten, Das Spaten Haus, Das Warsteiner Ess Zelt and Die Bier Stube. Das Fassler Hall Stammtisch Zelt will feature brews from Tulsa’s Marshall Brewing Company, including seasonal favorites Oktoberfest Lager and Klaus Hefeweizen. Wine, mixed drinks and non-alcoholic bever-

PPreserving Cowboy Cooking Culture The second annual Chuck Wagon Cook-Off is set for Saturday, November 1.
By Carol Beck-Round
If they were being pulled by horses or oxen, it might look like an Old West cattle drive. However, the chuck wagons that will be rolling into the Claremore Expo Center will be hauled in on flatbed trailers to participate in the second annual Chuck Wagon Cook-Off on Saturday, November 1 as part of the Will Rogers Days celebration. Beef tips, chicken fried steak
and pot roast were three of the main entrees in last year’s competition, with four chuck wagon crews vying for first place and bragging rights. Tanya Andrews, Visit Claremore executive director, is expecting more entries this year, at least eight. “However, we can accommodate up to 15 teams set up on the West Bend on the Green,” she said. “We work with the American Chuck Wagon Association to recruit wagons from all over the country.” The ACWA encourages participants to preserve this aspect of American heritage through competitive events that involve setting up camp, cooking with authentic old western tools and exhibiting restored or replicated chuck wagons. The fun will begin on Friday when the chuck Alaska and Madi, both from northeastern wagons establish Oklahoma, will be performing at the second their camps, folannual Chuck Wagon Cook-Off. The singers were on season six of “The Voice” with lowed by “authenTeam Blake. ticity” judging.
“While the food judges are local, the ‘authenticity’ judges are experienced and recommended by the ACWA,” she adds. “They judge everything including the authenticity of the wagon spokes down to the drawers in the kitchen area.” Points are awarded to the most authentic wagon and then combined with points earned on Saturday during the food judging to determine the overall winner, who receives $1,000. Food judges are recruited from local restaurant owners and chefs. On Saturday, the chuck wagon chefs get down to business with each team digging a cooking pit. By 11:45 a.m., teams will submit their meals to the panel of judges. At noon, event attendees can begin chowing down. In order to guarantee a plate of the cowboy cooking, Andrews suggest tickets be purchased in advance for $10. Tickets go on sale October 6. The day of the event, tickets are $12. Each meal includes meat, potatoes, beans, bread, dessert and a drink. However, tickets are limited. “We can only sell 40 meals per wagon,” says Andrews. Chuck wagon teams will compete in seven categories on Saturday: Most Authentic, Best Overall and Best Food subcategories for meat, potatoes, beans,
The FUTURE of Back Treatment is Here! “After having an MRI, I was diagnosed with having a herniated disc. The pain was like a knife jabbing in my buttock and down my legs. My doctor told me that I was facing surgery on my back and to prepare to spend thousands of dollars and be off work for several months. Then I found Dr. Day and heard about the success he was having treating disc problems by using a new procedure called Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. So I decided to try it! On a scale of 1-10 my pain was an 8 when I started but after only a few weeks of treatment my pain level dropped to a 0-1. I am very happy with my treatment and am so glad I said ''No!'' to back surgery.

Weather Changes Can Affect Garage Doors Call Superior Overhead Door for broken springs, insulation solutions, and a wide selection of new garage doors.
By Deanna Rebro
You’re in a hurry to leave for work. Your garage door raises a few feet and then stops. It will move no further. This scenario with a broken spring plays out most often during temperature changes. Steve Lewis, owner of Superior Overhead Door in Broken Arrow, explains how Oklahoma’s intense heat and bright sun dries out the springs and makes them brittle. When there is a shift in
temperature, weak springs are likely to pop. Who knows when this will happen to your door? That’s why it is important to have a technician from Superior Overhead Door inspect your door’s operation, as well as the opener, and have them in good working order before the brisk winds, cold rains and snow begin. Of course, if you have a problem, Superior is the com-

pany to call for quick, reliable service. All their trucks are fully stocked with parts. Their technicians are all Superior employees who have undergone a rigorous background screening before their acceptance into the extended family. In many instances, they can provide same day service. Superior also has a solution to help keep cold air from entering your garage with either factory insulated doors or an insulation kit for your existing door. Pick it up and do it yourself or have Superior professional quickly install it for you. For factory insulated replacement doors or for new construction, Superior carries the Haas line with the highest R value, a full thermal brake which limits the transfer of temperature, and polyurethane insulation that provides more than five times the insulation value of wood. They also carry a wide selection of decorative Clopay steel doors. An attractive garage door adds curb appeal and sets the tone for the rest of your house.
Keith Mrozinski crafts each custom wood door at Superior Overhead Door.
“It’s really surprising to see how much a really nice garage door can change the look of a house for so little money,” says Steve. A large inventory of doors is on hand in the warehouse. Often they can be installed the same day. Each new door goes up with special weather stripping for an added measure of protection. Those who want to replicate specific designs or create their own look can have a custom-built door. Master carpenter Keith Mrozinski crafts each door as though it were a piece of art going to his own home. “We literally have a door for every need,” says Steve. For those who like to work in their garages, an all glass, full view door lets light in without seeing in. Overhead doors can also be made to fit custom needs, like enclosing large patio spaces and outdoor living areas for year-round use. Steve is proud to be a Liftmaster certified technician in the
new Liftmaster program that features a garage door opener with a battery backup. Even when power is out, you can get in. Cutting-edge technology lets you operate this garage door opener from anywhere in the world with just a touch on your smart phone. Schedule a home repair. Let in a friend or relative. There is no need for them to have a key to get in and out. Just open an app on your smart phone. The app is free and there is no annual fee.

GGo Nuts on Route 66
Family-friendly activities are set for the 6th annual Route 66 Pecan & Fun Fest on October 25. By Carol Beck-Round
Load up your automobile and head to The Nut House on historic Route 66 for a day of family-friendly activities and products on October 25 at the 6th annual Route 66 Pecan & Fun Fest. Beginning at 9 a.m. and running until 6 p.m., the event offers a vast array of indoor and outdoor booths selling crafts, toys, books, handmade blankets, breads and other goodies as well as Amishmade jerky. “We usually have around 30 booths,” says Hazel Ward, owner. In addition to the booths, attendees can browse through the unique items – most not found in your local grocery or big-box store – inside The Nut House, where new fall products will be available, as well as new crop of pecans. “We’ll also
have our famous Nut House cookies for sale,” she adds. “They contain real butter, corn flakes, oatmeal, coconut, chocolate chips and pecans – just about everything but the kitchen sink.” For kids, there will be a farm animal petting zoo, camel rides and a kiddie train. New additions this year includes pony rides. “It’s a wonderful time for families to get out and enjoy a beautiful fall day full of fun activities,” Hazel adds. Other planned activities include face painting as well as pumpkin painting. “Since it’s the week before Halloween, we’re also sponsoring a costume contest for children, ages one through 13,” says Darryl Ward, owner. Prizes will also be awarded in the costume

Don’t Lose Heat This Winter and acknowledging what is important to each customer. The company makes only agreements they know they are able to keep, and they make a genuine effort to maintain total focus on each customer’s needs. “When your heating and air system fails, it’s stressful because it always seems to happen at the most inopportune time,” says Randy. “We’re going to try to provide you immediate relief with our courtesy and professionalism, plus the assur-
ance that your heating or air conditioning will soon be restored.” Aire Serv will fully explain the issues, solutions and their satisfaction guarantee. And, because they charge by the job, not by the hour, you’ll be provided the cost before any work begins knowing that there will never be additional charges for overtime or hidden fees. That gives you the opportunity to thoughtfully choose the best solution for you and your family. Because Oklahoma weather can be tough on heating and cooling sys-

They can even extend the life of your heating and air system while reducing utility bills. “Our Total Comfort Tune-Up is much less expensive than prematurely replacing the entire system,” says Randy. Over Eight Decades of Service Johnson, who has been with the company for five of those decades. For customers, it is nice to know that the company will still be around years from now. It is always desirable to go back to someone you know and trust. Originally specializing in abstract services when John Kirkpatrick founded the company in the early 20th century, Guaranty Abstract Company expanded its operations in the ‘60s to include commercial closings and title insurance. They began doing residential closings in the ‘80s. At that point, the company became a sort of one-stop shop for commercial and private property transactions, providing services to other title companies and directly to clients of its own. Abstracting, though, remains at the foundation of the business, since everything relates back to property records. “It’s like a jigsaw puzzle,” says Larry Johnson as he describes the work involved in compiling an abstract for a property. A process that relies heavily on research, records and flawless documentation, Guaranty Abstract Company is a leader in the industry for good reason. Their archives date back to before statehood, as Johnson points out. “Sometimes, the City comes to us,” says Sherry McGann, CFO.
“We’re the only company in Tulsa with a complete set of records,” adds Senior Vice President Heath Spiegel. Spiegel began with Guaranty Abstract Company 11 years ago as an I.T. administrator and steadily worked his way through the ranks over the past decade. Along the way, his titles have included business development manager, residential closing offices manager and daily operations administrator. With such a well-rounded history with the company, his promotion from vice president of business development to senior vice president comes as no surprise and is welcomed throughout the company. The abstracting process is crucial for sound property transactions. Without a complete and accurate history on record, the property owner is vulnerable to unexpected issues that may arise, such as taxes owed, errors in previous title transaction or mistaken property boundaries. Because of such potential situations, the company also offers title insurance services, which protect the insured from potential losses related to such issues. Guaranty Abstract Company offers title insurance policies for lender, owner or leaseholder. During the insurance process, the company handles initial abstracting and updates
Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of the Jenks community and its partners. Guaranty Abstract Company also provides closing services for commercial and private property transactions. “You can say, ‘This is where I want to close,’” says Sherry McGann, CFO. Spiegel agrees, adding they want customers to know, “You are in control.” He notes that many home buyers – especially when it’s their first experience purchasing a house – do not realize they have a choice in which title company to use. Often, customers acquiesce to whichever company is suggested by the real estate agent. But, is that really a wise approach to take with such a major transaction? Why take a chance on a company with less experience and less direct access to land archives? Before you get burned, take a moment to learn. Guaranty Abstract Company makes a point of educating customers, and even provides training classes for lenders and real estate agents. Their website is a treasure trove of information, including easyto-read infographics outlining complicated processes. Guaranty Abstract has a stellar

Fall Craftacular Faith Church’s 2nd annual event features unique items perfect for early holiday shopping. By Deanna Rebro
Get an early start on Christmas shopping at the Fall Craftacular at Faith Church in Glenpool. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 18, shoppers can choose from unique, handcrafted
items. Vendors will offer fine art, handmade jewelry, local artistry, clothing, baby accessories, holiday items, hand-painted furniture, foods, natural soaps and
lotions, spa products, quilts, crochet items, skin care products, and much, much more. This is the second year for the event that was an overwhelming success last year.

Dawn Hunter, Craftacular director, said they tried the idea last year and were blown away with the response from both customers and vendors. “It’s a fun event,” she adds, “and not just for shopping.” Two food trucks will offer snow cones, Indian tacos, nachos, barbecue and drinks. New this year is a Fall Fun Pageant hosted by Our Diamond Miss Pageants. Unlike most pageants, this event requires no pageant dress, and no experience is needed. Girls from infants to age 18 will be judged on fall/Halloween fashion, most beautiful, and best onstage interview (for ages 3 and up). Creativity will be put to the test in “Trash in Fashion,” as the girls are judged on their use of recycled goods to create an outfit. Trophies, crowns and banners will be awarded. The registration fee is $45, with optional packages available. For an entry form or more information, email Angeila at mikemommy@yahoo.com. Proceeds from Craftacular and the Fall Fun Pageant will benefit the Women of Faith ministry. This group of dedicated ladies reaches out to any woman in the community. “If a woman finds herself in a crisis, we try to help,” says Dawn. Her crisis could be due to job loss, abandonment or illness. The Women of Faith have stepped

in numerous times to provide groceries for families who otherwise would have gone hungry. They also offer scholarships to ladies who would like to strengthen their faith, provide service through the Lord’s work, and have fun with other like-minded women at an annual retreat held in September. The $100 cost would be beyond their budget without the help of a scholarship. A group of quilters within the ministry present specially made quilts to people who are undergoing challenging health issues. Each tie in every quilt represents a prayer that was said for that person’s health and renewed strength. Enjoy a great pre-holiday shopping experience, good food, a fun pageant and help a worthy cause at the same time. Faith Church is located at 171st Street and Highway 75 in Glenpool. There is no admission charge and lots of free parking.

Will Rogers Days Lots of fun is happening in Claremore November 1-4 to commemorate the birth of Oklahoma’s favorite son.
By Pat Reeder
Something new has been added to the four-day Will Rogers Days, marking the November 4, 1879 birthday of Will Rogers and the 1938 opening of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore. A “Mid-Afternoon Frolic” amateur talent show will be Sunday afternoon, November 2 from 2 to 4. Open to the first 20 applicants, cash prizes will be $150, first place; $100, second place; and $50, third place. Applications are available on the website at www.willrogers.com or at the Museum admissions desk. The “Frolic” is a take-off of Will’s vaudeville days when he performed in the “Midnight Frolic” variety show on the roof of New York City’s Amsterdam Theatre. Will Rogers Days, November 1-4, starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 1 with a parade through downtown Claremore and continues with the Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club traditional program, wreath-laying and a lunch at the Memorial Museum.
www.ValueNews.com Headlining the parade will be Alaska & Madi, a Tulsa duo who competed in “The Voice” as part of Team Blake, according to John Walke, Reveille Rotary Club parade chairman. Parade entry forms are available on the Claremore Reveille Rotary website. Cash incentives are offered marching bands. Big yellow buses will be lined up Monday, November 3, when hundreds of children hop off for “Children’s Day at the Museum,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Schools are required

All events are free and open to the public.
“Halloween Night at the Museum” Young and old alike, come dressed as your favorite character for a “Halloween Night at the Museum” on Friday, October 31 at the museum. Trick or treating will be from 6 to 9. It will also be an opportunity for children and their parents to visit the Children’s Museum and see the newly painted journey to Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch. Who knows? Some of the Museum characters may come alive. There will be a showing of “Headless Horseman,” starring Will Rogers. Admission is free.

(Plymouth, Jeep, etc.). Today, the Mopar name is a catch-all phrase car enthusiasts use for the related family of cars – in contrast to Chevrolet, Ford and so on. One hundred years after the first Dodge Model 30 took its first test spin, the company retains its popularity as a leading American car manufacturer, as evidenced by families of die-hard enthusiasts like the Fowlers. The Mopars in the Park Car Show is a way for everyone to get together and show off their favorite ride, burn a little rubber and ogle the friendly competition. As in previous years, expect a slew of races and car shows. Drag races will feature several classes, including a ladies bracket, with cash prizes awarded to winners and runners-up. The Mopar Car Show will hand out awards for almost a dozen classes, from daily drivers to trucks and convertibles – and, of course, modified models. New this year is an art show. Artists are invited to showcase their “Dodge-inspired” art. Assemblage, painting – anything goes. So snatch up those old

Also, kids will be able to participate in a Hot Wheels Shoot Out. Keep an eye out for additional activities for children, as more will be added as the event draws near. Mopars at the Park has been a longtime partner of Broken Arrow Neighbors, a nonprofit organization that provides “assistance with dignity” to more than 11,000 people in the community. Specializing in helping financially disadvantaged citizens with basic needs emergency assistance, the organization has meant the difference between maintaining independence or homelessness to countless people over the years. Mopars at the Park accepts nonperishable food and cash donations at the admission gate on behalf of Broken Arrow Neighbors. Each person who brings a food donation will receive a discount on their admission at the gate. “It’s a great time for a food drive, since it’s just before the holidays,” says Fowler. It’s the Ultimate Ladies Day Out The Ladies Lifestyle Extravaganza returns for 9th year of fun, fashion and a full day of activities for women.
By Carol Beck-Round Hobbies, women’s health and wellness issues, as well as fashion and shopping adventures are on tap for the 9th annual Ladies Lifestyle Extravaganza, set for Saturday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Claremore Northeast Technology Center located on Highway 88 north of Blue Starr Drive. It’s the ultimate ladies day out where women can explore booths and attend sessions geared toward women’s interests. Teaming up to coordinate the day-long event, the Claremore Chamber of Commerce and Claremore Main Street have designed the extravaganza to provide products, services and information women need and want to make their lives more efficient, more productive, and happier. Regardless of their age or circumstances, women will find something valuable for their lives. Initially the one-day event had been held in March, but it conflicted with spring break plans. “We decided to move it to November this year,” says Dell Davis, Chamber director. “It will be a good opportunity for our vendors
to showcase their products and services, as well as for those who attend to start their holiday shopping.” Shopping opportunities will include booths featuring jewelry, food products, clothing, purses and other fashion accessories, home décor, body products, health care items, cookware and business services. In addition, Hillcrest Hospital Claremore, Presenting Sponsor of the show, will be offering free seminars throughout the day addressing various issues involving women’s health. Topics will address women at different stages of their lives, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. Dr. Lacy Crissup with Primary Eye Care will be on hand with a mobile unit offering basic eye screenings for attendees. Claremore’s boutiques and clothing stores will be participating again this year in the popular fashion show – always a hit with the ladies and coordinated by Susan Todd, Cari Bohannan and Nicole Potter. “We’re even more excited this year because we have so many
new boutiques in town that will be participating,” says Susan Todd. “We will have women’s fashion for all ages, Enjoy informative demonstrations at this year’s including children.” Ladies Lifestyle Extravaganza.
