The quarterly clinics are scheduled for Saturday, February 16, May 18, August 17 and November 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Events are held at South Pointe Chevrolet service bay and are conducted by safety experts representing Safe Kids Tulsa. Admission is free and open to anyone with kids who want their child’s safety seat inspected. There will be door prizes including safety seats and more. Safe Kids Worldwide was founded in 1988 by Martin R. Eichelberger, M.D. and Herta Feely, a public relations professional, at Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C. With others, they created the National SAFE KIDS Campaign, the only U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing

unintentional childhood injuries. Today, Safe Kids works around the world to reduce traffic injuries and more. Since inception, there has been a 60 percent decrease in the unintentional injury rate among children 19 years and younger. Preventable injuries are the #1 killer of kids in the United States. Throughout the world, almost one million children die of injuries each year, and almost every one of these tragedies is preventable. South Pointe and Safe Kids Tulsa contribute to protecting our kids through safety clinics. “Losing one child is one too many,” says Ballou. “We don’t want any parent to have to endure the loss of a child. Our hope is to raise awareness of improperly installed or ineffective car seats that may be risking the life or injury to a child. At our clinics, parents learn if their child’s safety seat is installed correctly and if it’s the proper style and size to offer full protection at the child’s current age.

Some symptoms that would validate the procedure are vaginal atrophy, dryness, looseness, or inability to climax during intercourse. The Med Spa has treated patients for these issues with a 100% success rate, and usually a 75% improvement in 3 treatments. Additionally, urinary incontinence can be remedied with the procedure. “50% of women have this problem, especially after childbirth, and that issue can be completely cured after three treatments, with minimal downtime,” Melody said. “When we talk about the symptoms that justify Vaginal Rejuvenation, so many women say that’s me, I’m who you’re talking about. On every visit, your vehicle receives a free visual inspection. You also receive a printed report reminding you of maintenance schedules and informing you of anything you should know about your vehicle based upon its time spent on the road. If needed, a treatment plan will be recommended. The report is easy to understand with ratings of Pass, Caution or Fail so you’ll know if additional attention is needed. The Multi-Point Inspection includes items like tire tread depth, condition of hoses and clamps, brake lining thickness, drive belts, battery terminals and cables, and a windshield inspection for cracks, chips or pitting. A tech’s report will also include items like engine, transmission and cooling system inspections. Tire pressure will be checked and adjusted if needed. This is a very thorough bumper-tobumper inspection of your vehicle. If there is a recommendation for further service, the report will include a list of labor and material costs with an explanation to help you understand the reasons for the recommended services. Again, your safety and confidence is the goal
and this report is provided to ensure peace of mind and understanding of your car’s operating state. You may make an appointment online with the Service Department or give them a call. Once your vehicle is in the system, you choose to receive maintenance reminders by email, regular mail or by phone. After one month, any new or used vehicle you’ve purchased from South Pointe is invited in for a free wash and checkup. Koger also spoke of a program available to customers who require help paying for their automotive repairs. CFS (Confident Financial Solutions) is available to anyone 18 years or older who has a valid email address and resides in a state where CFS is licensed to do business. Applicants apply online at www. mycfsapp.com. In minutes they receive a credit decision and Cliff indicates that the approval rate is high. If approved, CFS will pay your repair shop directly for up to your maximum approved amount. Simple interest is only applied to the amount you borrow, not compounded on the interest itself. The application process generally takes a few minutes. CFS funds the repair amount once repairs

n January 2, 2018, Grassroots Healthcare family medical practice in Tulsa, opened its newly expanded medical office building to patients on 7901 S. Sheridan Rd. in Tulsa. Their new office location features 3,100 square feet, 11 exam rooms, spacious waiting area and check-in station. Since 2011, Dr. Melita Tate has practiced medicine at Grassroots Healthcare in a way that clears away the impersonal paperwork and bureaucracy that characterizes most physician’s offices. We are located on the second floor of the Tulsa County Administration Building at Sixth and Denver in Downtown Tulsa. In addition, the locations listed below are available, on the days noted, for you to file the following exemption applications and other documents. Homestead Exemption - To be approved for the year 2019, the Single Homestead Exemption must be applied for by March 15, 2019, or within 30 days from the issue date of an assessment notice. You need to apply if your Real Estate property has changed ownership during 2018 or you have not previously applied for homestead exemption. If filed after March 15th, the single homestead exemption will be allowed for the following year, 2020. Your deed must be notarized before January 1st and filed in the County Clerk’s Office by February 1st to allow the exemption in the current year. If you did not move or change your deed in any way and have previously filed for the exemption on your residence, you are not required to re-file an application. Additional Homestead Exemption - To be approved for the year 2019, your gross household income must be $20,000 or less during 2018. You must file between January 2nd and March 15th or 30 days from the issue date of an assessment notice. To file you will need to bring proof of income for 2018 such as all 1099 and W2 forms from all income sources. The additional homestead exemption requires annual filing, except persons who are 65 years of age or older or who are permanently disabled. Senior Property Valuation Limitation - To be approved for the year 2019, you must be 65 years of age before January 1, 2019 and have a gross household income of $67,100 or less during 2018. If you qualify for this exemption, you must file between January 2nd and March 15th or 30 days from the issue date of an assessment notice. To file you will need to bring proof of income for 2018, such as all 1099 and W2 forms from all income sources. Seniors who have qualified are not required to re-file. Veterans - There is an exemption for veterans honorably discharged from active service in any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States or Oklahoma National Guard and who have been certified by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to have One Hundred percent (100%) permanent, service connected disability or be the surviving spouse of such head of household. Exemption is for the full amount of the fair cash value of the homesteaded property. The unmarried spouse of a veteran killed in action may also qualify for an exemption. Agricultural Renditions - You may file your 2019 agricultural renditions including your Agricultural Tax Exemption Permit. Renditions must be filed by March 15th to avoid penalty. Business Renditions - Business owners must file a 2019 business personal property rendition by March 15th to avoid penalty. Manufactured Home Renditions – Personal property manufactured home renditions (you do not own the land) must be filed by March 15th to avoid penalty. To have your Manufactured Home assessed or to file for the homestead exemption, you will need to bring the Title or Registration for the Manufactured Home. Manufactured Home Exemption – To be approved for 2019, you must be at least 62 years of age or older, the head of household, and own and reside in a manufactured home on land you do not own. Property Tax Refund – If your gross household income from all sources (except gifts) is $12,000 or less, and you are at least 65 years of age or totally disabled, you may be eligible for a property tax refund by filing state form 538-H. ATTENTION SENIOR CITIZENS! The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has changed the household median income in Tulsa County and Osage, Creek, Rogers, and Wagoner Counties. This change will impact senior citizens’ ability to qualify for a Property Valuation Limitation for Ad Valorem tax purposes. For 2019, the new maximum annual gross household income is now $67,100. SU Public TV is changing channel from channel 36 to channel 32. This will occur on February 11, 2019. Why? It’s called “repacking”. Repacking is mandatory by the FCC and will affect three stations in the Tulsa television market including RSU Public TV. By definition, repacking is the process of moving broadcasters into a smaller and more tightly packed spectrum band in order to free up broadcast spectrum for wireless carriers nation-wide. Resulting in the need to upgrade out dated equipment. Royal Aills, general manager of RSU Public TV says, “This is really a blessing for us. Our transmitter is at end of life. With a new transmitter, we will operate for the next 20 years”. Viewers on cable and satellite should not be affected. Viewers who watch TV over the air with an antenna will need to rescan their TV’s on February 11th at 9am. Aills says, “Viewers who have trouble rescanning their TV’s can go to our website at rsu.tv or call for instruction on who to rescan. We will also have a phone bank set up should anyone want to call. We will walk them through the rescan”. That number is 1.800.823.7210. So how do you rescan your TV’s? Select “scan” or “autotune” on the TV or converter box control menu to start the scanning process. Instructions are usually available by pressing the “set-up” or “menu” buttons on the remote control. This move is happening behind the scenes, so the channel number viewers know will not change. No additional equipment purchases is required. Plan to Rescan on February 11th at 9am!
