EMPLOYMENT REPORT

F R I E N D S A N D A S S O C I AT ES , I am honored to present the Vanderbilt Master of Science in Finance Class of 2021 Employment Report. The Vanderbilt MSF program had a record year for employment outcomes. It was another challenging year for students, faculty, and staff with the continued disruptions and impact surrounding COVID-19. Students choose the Vanderbilt MSF degree to achieve career goals in fields such as investment banking, equity research, and consulting, and the Class of 2021 did just that. Here are a few highlights: Record employment outcomes: The MSF program reached record-high levels of employment, with 100% of the class receiving offers by graduation and 100% accepting a job within 6 months of graduation. This class is the first to achieve this outcome in the MSF program at Vanderbilt. Our students once again exemplified what sets an MSF student apart, showing eagerness for opportunities and humility through the recruiting process. We want to congratulate our students for achieving such a milestone!

Alumni partners: We continue to be grateful to our alumni partners. They tirelessly engage with the career center, students, and each other, not only sharing job opportunities but assisting with mock interviews, resume reviews, networking, and so much more. Twenty-two percent of MSF offers for the Class of 2021 came through alumni referrals. The success of the MSF program would not be possible without the loyal and accessible alumni network and the accomplishments they have achieved to lay a foundation for the students who follow. Median salary increase bolstered by investment banking outcomes: The median salary for our 2021 MSF graduates increased by 6%, landing at $85,000. This salary sets a new record for the program. The boost can be attributed to the increased investment banking salaries across Wall Street, which in turn sparked increased salaries within other fields. Fifty-six percent of students from the Class of 2021 entered a career in investment banking spread across the U.S. and in the U.K. Other students launched challenging careers in consulting, investment management, real estate finance, business valuation, private equity, and venture capital. I am incredibly proud of the Vanderbilt MSF Class of 2021. They worked exceptionally hard, engaged early with the career center, set a record for the school, and have already begun giving back to the Class of 2022. It has been my absolute pleasure to serve the MSF program and its students. Sincerely,

Megan Nichols Senior Associate Director, Career Management Center Vanderbilt University | Owen Graduate School of Management
