TO FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES OF VANDERBILT BUSINESS:
As we complete another academic year for our full-time MBA program, I am happy to share the employment outcomes for the graduating Class of 2024 and the internship outcomes for the Class of 2025. Students faced a more challenging MBA employment market this year but were able to move their careers forward with exciting new opportunities.
Below are some highlights from the 2024 Employment Report:
n Within 3 months of graduation, 91% of graduates received a job offer, with 90% accepting. The results were lower than our recordbreaking results in 2023, as employers continued to deal with economic uncertainty. However, most graduates were able to achieve their career goals and secure opportunities that will position them well for career growth in the upcoming years.
n MBA base salaries remained high. The median base salary for Owen graduates is 20% higher than it was just three years ago and 27% more than the pre-Covid MBA base salary. Compensation is not the only factor a graduate might consider in evaluating potential opportunities, but it is an indicator of how the employment market values the degree and Owen graduates.
n The consulting, financial services, and healthcare industries accounted for almost 70% of accepted full-time job opportunities. The technology industry hiring was again slower this year, as the industry continued to navigate changing conditions.
n Almost the entirety of the MBA Class of 2025 secured a summer internship prior to mid-June to gain experience with 89 companies.
In addition to these outcomes with outstanding companies, some graduates and interns are fulfilling their ambitions by starting their own businesses or continuing with their education. We are extremely grateful for the partnerships with our employers and alumni who continue to foster relationships with current students, and we are so happy to contribute as a part of Vanderbilt University’s fantastic resources that prepare graduates to achieve their personal and professional goals.
Sincerely,
Emily Anderson
