VANDERBILT MASTER OF MARKETING

2021

EMPLOYMENT REPORT

TO FRIENDS & ASSOCIATES OF VANDERBILT BUSINESS, I am pleased to present the Vanderbilt Master of Marketing Class of 2021 Employment Report. This marks the program’s fifth year, and we are thrilled to report outstanding employment outcomes, with 97% of the graduates seeking employment having secured a full-time position within 6 months of graduation. These strong results are a testament to the resilience, hard work, and determination of the graduates from the Class of 2021. Strong Outcomes Show Resilience in Challenging Circumstances The Class of 2021 was impacted by the challenges associated with the global pandemic and the subsequent uncertainty in the job marketplace. However, the students were successful in achieving excellent employment outcomes by implementing the knowledge and skills from the Master of Marketing curriculum and leveraging their previous education and experience. In contrast to the previous graduating classes, a notable highlight in the 2021 employment outcomes is all accepted offers were for full-time positions. In previous classes, and most especially for the Class of 2020, the job market uncertainty resulted in some graduates accepting marketing internships that would potentially lead to full-time positions. Building a Strong & Solid Foundation From consumer product companies to digital marketing agencies to technology and consulting firms, Vanderbilt Master of Marketing students from the Class of 2021 brought their marketing expertise to a wide range of organizations. Many roles align with the functional paths we have seen students successfully pursue since the program’s inception, with students earning a significant number of positions in client services and digital marketing. For the Class of 2021, there was an increase in graduates moving into brand or product management roles. While approximately half of the class secured full-time positions in the South, the remainder of the class is working across the United States in the Midwest, Northeast, and on the West Coast. It was a pleasure to support the 2021 Master of Marketing Class. Their attitudes and adaptability in the face of challenging circumstances highlighted their determination and work ethic. Their care for each other underscored the strong collaborative culture they created. The Class of 2021 built on the program’s solid career foundation and paved new paths for current and future Vanderbilt Master of Marketing students. Sincerely,

Emily Anderson Senior Director, Career Management Center Vanderbilt University | Owen Graduate School of Management
