The State of Lobetta

air has it’s own movement, that’s connected to a time, and strangely it flows out of the ideology of the future and back to the past. Hair is peculiar, contagious; it has a mystical quality, that inspires new cultures. Yet somehow year after year hairstylists seem to sense the same things, you could call it conspiracy but we like to think it’s coincidental. There are some very gifted people that seem to breath a different kind of air, that’s more than just hairdressing, they somehow manage to create visions that are so independent, they seem to come from a place not yet invented. Often these out of step, out of fashion, and out of sync geniuses, are the ones who’s creativity leads us out of the wilderness of conformity and reestablishes the zeitgeist for the next generation. They do it by following their own instincts, and trusting their intuitions. Robert Lobetta is a true individual, who always goes his own way, leading us into a strange but always beautiful realm of style, which is discovered entirely through his independent imaginations.

The new style of hairdressing is more hand made, flawed, and raw, its almost as if you have done it yourself. Which is precisely what makes hair seem just a bit more poetic. Thus giving the wearer a more expressive nature to their own individuality.

love the way an image can surprise you, or the way a thought can change ones direction. I like to think our foundation for humour is the question mark of a smile, that’s always grinning with the thought of how can we improve our craft or change this industry. For me hair remains an art, a craft and a service, in an ideal world we should maintain this attitude, because one of the priorities of being a hairdresser or a manufacturer is to offer a sense of uniqueness. So, when creativity is calling do not answer the phone or the door, you answer creativity with your heart. Start by looking for us right now, because once you stamp your imagination with our imagination imagine that!

hotography needs to be dramatic for a picture to strike a chord, it has to have an unusual, unique, inherent secret, a visual signature. I always employ a graphic structure to my work using contrasts to imprint the viewers mind, with deep black shadows or luminous highlights. I see things a certain way and gamble everything on my obsessive and incisive vision. I am on guard against the obvious beauty and in this process discover a unique point of view.

y work is a reflection of the paranoia in human life, the anger of one, to the love of another, the real truths we tend to forget, to the fake lies we sometimes uphold. I am starting to ask myself, what sort of image should I be realizing tomorrow, where can I go with this image today, who is this person infront of me, what role should she be playing, what happens if she doesn´t want to play, what play is this anyway, it should have been a film. And there it is, the crux of the matter. DECISIONS.
