There is no clearer example of Disney animation’s enduring popularity than Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The world’s first fully animated film premiered in 1936 and enjoyed (8) theatrical rereleases through every decade of the 20th century before its home video release in 1994. With each new generation that grew up with her story, there was a new wave of toys and collectibles to cherish.

82. Original Production Cel and Matching Background. (Disney, 1937) An original production cel of the Hag paired with the matching Production Background from Walt Disney’s 1937 Feature Film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Originally given as a gift from Wally Feignoux (Walt’s cinema representative in Paris) to a Jean Schoubrenner, the cel and background appear at the 1:14:17 mark in the film, a key moment as the Hag presents the Poison Apple to Snow White. The back of the original frame has been retained and exhibits French annotation which roughly translates: “To Mr. Jean Schoubrenner as a trademark of appreciation for the excellent work provided by him and his teams, in France from Walt Disney Productions Ltd/with my cordial regards,” and has been signed Wally Feignoux, Paris 1939. The Hag’s image size is 7”x4.75” on an untrimmed 9.25”x11.5” cel placed on the untrimmed 9.25”x11.75” background. The entire piece displays in in very good condition, despite slight wear and edge wrinkling from age. $40,000 - $50,000
