We are in an era when ‘efizzy’ (Nigerian word for classy) is a defining factor; putting the person concerned in a class of the ‘happening’ crowd. The happening crowd being where you will find the ‘IT Girl’. What does it mean to be an IT Girl? This was the question I put to Fatima Garba when the idea for an ‘IT Girl’ cover was floated. In its generic meaning, an IT Girl is one who grabs all the attention once she makes an entrance. She is that female you cannot ignore. She is very fashionable, confident and knows what she wants. An It Girl is a trend-setting (in fashion, lifestyle, etc.) woman or girl with a ton of self-confidence and self-worth that set the example of how to have it all and look good doing it. She creates beauty and art through whatever talent she is blessed with. She isn’t afraid to be herself, knows the latest trends, but rather than follow blindly, creates hers through her unique and impeccable sense of style. She has premium taste and very high standards, only surrounding herself with the best in all aspects of life such as family, love, friends, and career. She is the ultimate in
class and always keeps her cool. We have celebrities who fit this bill. Many we have followed over the years. In the different age brackets, you will find women who went from IT Girls to IT Mommas. Today, our focus is on the new crop of IT Girls. Young girls under 30, who fit the IT Girl bill; girls who are ambitious. They work hard, play hard and spend hard. See our carefully put together list. Enjoy!

A great pair of peep toe heels is a powerful thing-it can change your mood, your posture and your attitude and turn a boring outfit into something remarkable. But there are rules.
RULES... 1. WATCH YOUR PROPORTIONS... Hardly anyone can pull of a short skirt with very high heels without looking a hooker. Ensure your hemline is not too far up your legs.
1. A Cocktail ring draws attention to the hand. So make sure your fingernails are polished and well groomed.
4. Since the left index finger is reserved for the wedding band, it is typical to wear your cocktail ring on the right index finger. If you must wear it on the left, then do it on the middle finger.
2. If you wish to wear a ring on your pointer finger, it should not be more than 6 carats.
3. When wearing a cocktail ring, don’t crowd your attire with other jewellery. Less is more.

You’ve seen them on celebrities, fashionistas and royalty and I’m sure you’ve adorned one too even though it may not be cut in an expensive stone. Cocktail rings are recognized by their unforgettable, dramatic large size. They come in a variety of colours and styles. Since a cocktail ring is an eye-popping accessory, you can use it to make a great statement with your cocktail dress. As with anything in fashion, there are rules to wearing cocktail rings!
2. SHOW TWO CRACKS ONLY... Toe cleavage does not get the attention it deserves but it matters. Show some toes but not more than two.

3. SHOW TWO CRACKS ONLY... Don’t even imagine wearing a pair of peep toe shoes if your toe nails are not in good shape. Chipped toe nail polish and cracked heels are not acceptable.

4. DON’T GO TO HIGH... If shoes go beyond four inches, you will not be able to walk well. Also, your posture will shift and you will not have a good gait. No matter how good you are with heels, there is a point where it gets too high and struggling to walk correctly will make you look ridiculous.

FADE OGUNRO Why did you decide to study Natural Skincare after a degree in Computer Studies? I chose to go into Natural Skincare whilst taking a closer look into what ingredients went into the numerous skin care products in the market. The more I researched, the more I realized how important skin care is and also how ignorant I was about what I put on my skin. This was why I decided to attend the College of Naturopathic Medicine, London.

How long have you been in the beauty/clinical skin care industry? It would be a year next month that I started working actively in the skin care industry.

Tell us about Laserderm. What are the services you offer? Laserderm Clinic is a new and innovative aesthetic practice run by fully qualified medical practitioners with affiliations to practice in the United Kingdom. We offer a range of treatment solutions to help deal with a variety of skin problems e.g. acne, acne scarring, lines and wrinkles, psoriasis, razor bumps, pigmented skin lesions and patches. Following consultation with one of our clinicians, we identify patients’ skin requirements and a tailor-made programme is set up using a range of advanced aesthetic procedures and stunning results can be achieved. We are particularly intrigued with your laser hair removal service. Tell us about that. We are proud to say that we own a new generation, cutting edge Nd-Yad 1064mm laser which is FDA approved. It is used to treat various skin conditions including epilation (hair removal) safely on all skin types; the micro-pulsed technology it has enables us do treatments virtually pain-free.

iome Engele is a woman with multicultural background; half Congolese and half Lebanese. However, she was mostly raised in Nigeria and studied in the United Kingdom. Engele is the new face of Laserderm Clinics, a specialist skin clinic, a first of its kind in Lagos; one that applies technology in therapeutic and cosmetic procedures to treat and care for the skin. As Director of Business Development at Laserderm, Engele sits at the heart of the business and is responsible for driving it. Engele holds a first degree in Computer Studies from the London Guildhall University in the United Kingdom.
What’s your beauty/skin care philosophy today? How would you describe your clinic aesthetic? Our skin care philosophy could be captured in the statement: “We promise to treat your skin with the care and respect it deserves, leaving you feeling youthful, confident and valued”. While we work passionately to help clients improve undesirable aspects of their skin care, we also strive to do no harm and help clients learn to love the skin they are in. Tell us five basic skin care routine every woman must have? Cleanse. Tone to balance the pH of the skin. Exfoliate and use a face mask once a week for a deep cleanse even if it’s home made. Any expert tricks we should know about? Drink loads of water. Use a sun screen. Cleanse. Tone. Moisturize. This applies to men too, if I may add. What are three don’ts everyone should know when it comes to skin care? Don’t bleach your skin! Don’t go without sunscreen! Don’t pick your pimples! Can you tell us one thing you won’t be caught dead wearing? Shorts. What do you do to relax after a busy day at work? I love running outdoors. When it’s not too hot, I head out for a 3-mile jog. It helps me unwind and clears my head.

GOD ALWAYS HAS A MAN FOR EVERY WOMAN
...CONTINUED FROM LAST WEEK
Well, the man she eventually got married to called me some time later and said he would like to see me. When he called the first time, I was sceptical because, he was either just heading to the airport or just going in for a meeting or something. I was sceptical because most 419 men who call me do almost about the same thing: they always like to make me think they are important or busy, and I have this ability to read through people so I can always tell. Others come and tell you how they were up there before and have lost everything, but will like to start all over again. I tell that them if they have to start all over again, then they need to start with their career and not a relationship because, you see, God has given everyone of us 24 hours and we need the first 8 hours of that 24 hours focused on our career and tasks for the day. Then, we spend the second 8 hours of the day in meaningful relationships with our significant others and loved ones, which
makes us spend the last 8 hours in meaningful rest if the first 16 hours have been spent well. Remember, it is a vain thing to rise up early in the morning, sleep late at night, and eat the bread of sorrows for God gives his loved ones rest. So, if you can’t spend the first 8 hours of your day meaningfully, you are likely to spend the next 8 hours with your companion causing problems that are not included in God’s great plan for the lovely individual you are with. Now, that is why I firmly tell people that a wonderful career can be a great asset for a man in marriage. Your wonderful career is what gives you opportunity to solve people’s problems, add value to them and they reward you financially and finance, I tell you, turns love into romance. It turns love to kindness. It gives love wings. It gives love the opportunity for expression. How do you know God loves you? Is it not by who He is to you? And, who is He to you? He is
Provider, Protector, Nurturer, Healer, Saviour, Effective Partner, etc, etc. So, please let’s get our priorities right when it comes to things that enable and ensure great and wonderful relationships. Oh my God, I have taken you away from the story again. I finally met OGA HIMSELF. And believe me, he is one of the best men I have ever met in my life; very sincere guy. I listened to his story. Do you know that by the time my female client first came to me, the man I found for her was just getting a divorce from a very troubled marriage and he needed to heal. So, when she approached me, her man was there but not ready to meet with her. It took us three and half years for him to find her for himself. He was more than we wanted from God: a perfect gentleman, a prince in every sense, a provider, protector, and ‘empowerer’. I thought our last marriage for 2012 was in November but was surprised to have them call me in January 2013 to inform me that they were married on 31st December 2012! I was out of the country myself and getting across to me may be difficult at such times. Am I a happy man? Yes, I am. It’s good when God gives you results as you work. As our first marriage in 2013 is in March, we will be celebrating your marriage too and soon. God bless.

Sources of hazardous toxins
alcohol. This is widely used in diet drinks. A common sigh of methanol excess or toxicity is a headache. it has also be linked to memory loss, fatigue, dizziness ,nausea, blurred version ,depression, hyperactivity in children and adults and ringing in the ears. if you experience any of these symptoms, eliminating this additive from your diet and doing a detox is one of the best decisions you can make.
FOUR KEYS TO WEIGHT LOSS:
Trans fat These are hydrogenated(of partially hydrogenated)fats. Hydrogenation is a process that makes an unsaturated fat more saturated. We find hydrogenated fats in margarine, shortenings, fried foods, most breads and baked goods, snacks foods, many prepackaged foods, chocolate and candy. they have been found to be harmful, the arteries as saturated fat, and they are implicated in heart disease and cancer. To determine whether you are eating these dangerous fats, read the nutritional labels on the food your buy.trans fat can be found on a nutritional label under the name “hydrogenated “or partially hydrogenated”. these deadly oils are found in all margerines, breads and baked foods, as well as many other processed foods found in the supermarkets. These fats are killers as they permit toxins
1. Dedication: Honorning God with your body. 2. Inspiration: Motivating yourself for change. 3. Eat and exercise: managing your habits. 4. Team: Building your circle of support Your journey towards improved health can be and should be, a journey that you make with God.
Fats in meat and Dairy products Most of the greens that cattle feed on have been sprayed with pesticides. The toxins in the spray are absorbed into the blood of the cattle and deposited in their fatty tissues. Most fatty cuts of red meat contain high concentrations of pesticides and may also contain antibiotics, sulfa drugs, hormones and other toxins. What is the danger? These toxins in meat may become toxins in your fatty tissues, including your brain, breast and postrate.Hot dogs or beef or pork sausage should be avoided .pork should drastically be reduced from your diet or cut of your diet because it is very high in toxins and many times also infested with bacteria and parasites. Food additives If you examine food labels, you will usually find a long list of additives-dyes, chemical preservatives and compounds. E.g. one sweetener, containing aspartame, is said to be two hundred times sweeter than sugar. But it could be two hundred times more toxic. This sweetener is made up of methanol and the amino acids phenylalanine and aspartic acid. What is methanol? It is a light volatile, flammable .poisonous liquid
to enter the cells. we need good fats and not bad fats to survive. Goods fats like olive oil or flaxseed oil. Caffeine Caffeine is like a drug. if you don’t have it on a daily basis, you can experience withdrawal. It is best to decrease drastically the amount of caffeine consumed. Many people have to be weaned off slowly because they are so addicted. One of the dangers of that caffeine is that itoverstimulates and may eventually weaken your glands-two small glands that sit above the kidney. They are important because they control the “fight-or-flight” response-your ability to handle stress.overtime, the glands become exhausted and then you may suffer from chronic fatigue.caffeiene can also interfere with the proper absorption of vitamins and minerals. Caffeine also increase heart rate and irregular heartbeat. Drugs and medication Multiple medications have a lot of negative effect on the body. Medications are broken down in the liver-the great detoxifier. When we flood our system with medications they may overwhelm our liver and may leave toxic intermediates circulating in the blood. That’s why if you are on multiple medications, it is important(with the advice of a good nutritional doctor)to switch gradually from prescriptions to vitamins, minerals, amino acids and herbs. These are not only good for you,but they are also rarely ever toxic to the body.
