Away from her usual short mini dresses, Nigeria’s designer Zizi Cardow took her creative instincts a bit higher with her top notch couture collection at the just concluded Africa Fashion Week London 2013, where she closed the show. 5IJT QSPMJmD EFTJHOFS TVDDFTTGVMMZ TUFFST UIF ;J[J $BSEPX brand each year, but 2013 was an especially spectacular POF XJUI B NBHOJmDFOU TQJSJU MJGUJOH DPMMFDUJPO UIBU SFBMMZ made sense of the word couture in its true sense. The dresses mostly made from the African prints, were transformed to bold elegant dresses with western cuts and demure lines which gives a sense of romantic femininity to the woman. In a week of beautiful dresses and fashion dreams, this was the high note to end on, spectacular!

inka Adenuga started her successful career in the New York financial industry. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the US. She has experience in the power utility industry. She has excellent solution solving, leadership, risk managing, product branding, business and decision making skills through her experience in the financial and utility industry. She spent the last ten years using numerous skin care products from high end dermatologist manufactured, department stores, organic and natural products seeking a youthful and radiant skin and none of the products gave her the optimum result she was looking for and the products lacked focus on darker skin tone. Out of frustration, using her passion for optimum and effective skin care products and her business background, she founded Lavelle Skincare. Lavelle Skincare produces optimum and effective facial products for all skin types with emphasis on dark skin types. Elumelu, CON hosted The Future Awards Africa 2013 nominees to a reception at Heir Holdings, Ikoyi. The event which served also as a networking event, had in attendance several important personalities, including M-NET Africa MD Abiola Alabi, Rita Dominic, Iyanya and Uche Nnaji. The reception is another highlight in the schedule of exclusive events to celebrate and deepen the work of the awards nominees – drawn from across the country and abroad. Mr. Elumelu also announced an endowment of The Future Awards Africa prize. “The future of Africa is in the hands of brilliant young minds such as these,” said Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings and Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation. “Our endowment, which looks to the long term, will not only support the sustainability of this important prize, but also encourage up and coming young African leaders, leaders who understand that they have a duty to stimulate this continent’s economic and social development with creative solutions.’ Recognized by the World Bank last year as ‘The Nobel Prize for Young Africans’, The Future Awards Africa, which is in its 8th season, is presented in partnership with the African Union Commission and Microsoft.
