...The fashion community in Nigeria was penultimate Saturday, thrown into mourning as news of the death of frontline designer, Oluremi Osholake popularly known as Remi Lagos broke in Nigeria. Remi Lagos, 51, bowed to the cold hands of death at a Harley Street Clinic in London after a fierce battle with ovarian cancer.
The news of her death came as a shock. Moments after her demise , the news filtered from London to me in Jerusalem. As it turned out, quite a number of people in my group who had come for the Christian pilgrimage were acquainted with Remi Lagos. That is how well known she was. Born Remi Osholake, but called Remi Lagos by everyone, she cut her niche long before designing became a profession for many. She was very unconventional in her ways, even bohemian in many ways. She never followed the crowd and did things her way. Which is why the ‘Remi Lagos’ design was a constant. She never deviated from her course. From when I knew her some twenty years her ago, she never veered far from her signature style: flowy black or white. A strong character. A woman of integrity. Compassionate and caring. Such constancy of character and holding to one’s belief is a rare trait in our clime, where people are like quick-silver, changing with moods and interest. Will there ever be another Remi Lagos? We had to step down other features for this Remi Lagos special. Have a great week!

Have you ever sat in front of your dressing mirror applying your makeup and re-doing your lipstick because you hated the lipstick colour that you have on? Many women find choosing the lipstick color that is just right for their lips and skin tone a little confusing. It does not help that there are probably thousands of shades of lipstick colours out there, which makes the process of choosing the perfect lipstick color for your lips a little more complicated than it should be. However, if you know how to look, you would be surprised at how easy finding this perfect lipstick colour is.

WAYS TO EAT HEALTHLY - Part 1
y h t a K s s e K c S n A Pri Dear Kathy, I just started my weight-loss journey by cutting down on my food intake and also stopped taking fizzy drinks. Now, I do more of water and Oolong tea, which has really helped. Please Kathy, what healthy snacks can I have? I am used to biscuits, cakes, meat pies, plantain chips and the likes as snacks. What healthy stuff can I use to replace them? - Anabel, Lagos Dear Mary, Congratulations on your weight-loss journey! Please, see it as a lifestyle change, not just a shortterm diet change. There are loads of healthy snack everywhere. An apple is a healthy snack; a pear a banana is a healthy snack. Nuts, fruits and vegetables are examples of healthy snacks in their natural state.
