Uber teamed up with Aura, the emergency response app, to bring cutting-edge security technology to Uber drivers and courier-partners across South Africa. With the touch of a button, request security or medical assistance in emergency situations. The app is free to download and use 24 hours, 7 days a week. Aura has partnered with the best response companies nationwide, to give you access to over 1500 security and medical responders, anywhere, anytime. Using built-in GPS navigation, the closest responder to the scene is dispatched with the fastest route possible, reducing the time it takes to assist you. To download, search for ‘Aura Driver Panic app’ in the Apple App Store or Google Playstore. After downloading, open the app and select ‘Log In With Uber’. Any other questions? Partner Injury Protection Accident insurance from Chubb Insurance in South Africa Sometimes accidents happen. In Cape Town, Johannesburg and other cities in South Africa, you are protected against emergency medical treatment costs and lost earning opportunities for accidents that happen while on trip on the Uber platform. Who is Chubb Chubb Insurance South Africa Ltd is an authorised Financial Services Provider and global insurance leader. Insured for costs due to an accident In the event of an accident during a trip, you can contact us through our 24/7 in-app support or through Uber’s Incident Response Call Back line for additional information about processing a claim. The following will be covered: • Reimbursement for emergency medical expenses up to R50 000 and an immediate lump sum payment of R 1 500 • Accidental Death Benefit of R200,000 and R 15 000 to cover burial expenses will be reimbursed • Permanent Disability of up-to R200,000 (the amount depends on the severity of the disability) • Daily Confinement Payment – a daily amount for each 24-hour period of Hospital confinement up to a maximum period of 30-days (first 24 hours confinement is not covered)

Claiming from Road Accident Fund We have partnered with Road Cover, who will provide legal assistance to couriers and other third parties for claims submitted to the Road Accident Fund.
