Membership Growth: (till 10.03.2022)  

Members at Start of the Tenure: 114 Efforts for maximum membership retention by following up with each and every member. Current Members: 134 17.5% increase in Membership New Members Total: 20 New Members (Women): 5 (25% of new members) Average Age of New Members: 37 (more younger members joined) Followed up with Members who had left the Club in earlier years and persuaded them to rejoin. 9 exmembers rejoined.

Due to Covid wave it was planned to keep a Hybrid Installation. Board members and new members were present. Rest joined virtually.

Renowned gujarati joke artist Shri Harpalsinh Zala was invited to entertain Members with an evening full of Jokes narration

Box Cricket Tournament was organized to encourage members for Sports Activity. 2 Ladies teams of Anns also took part.


Club Activity Report: Service Projects Tree Plantation

till 10.03.22

On 1st July Tree Plantation was done at the campus of Shivanand Ashram Satellite. Due to Covid wave that time, to avoid gathering in large numbers, members were asked to plant trees at their homes, in backyards, gardens or common plots


Club Activity Report: Service Projects till 10.03.22 “I Save Water” Drive (Supporting Environment)

2500 posters of “I Save Water” campaign were printed in English & Gujarati and given to members to display at their appartments. 4 Societies were selected. Out of which fixing aerators in taps was done at Sharnam 12 Appartments. Aerators reduce water flow Thus yearly saving for 2 faucets is 51,100 liters of water and in terms of electricity used for pumping is Rs 6400 is saved per year per flat. Also 681 kg of Co2 emission is saved per year


Club Activity Report: Service Projects till 10.03.22 Save Water Campaign (contd.) & Bamboo Seeds and Kitchen Garden Seeds Distribution (Supporting Environment)

As a part of "I Save Water" campaign, Rtn Dipen Mehta delivered a talk on the same at Sports Club, in the gathering of around 200+ people at Food Festival. Sports Club has agreed to install aerators in the entire Club and also, few restaurants and hotels will also join our "Save Water Campaign". Earlier Bamboo Seeds & Kitchen Garden seeds have also been distributed to our members as part of supporting Environment

Club is successfully running a Physiotherapy Center at Urban Health Center of Municipal Corporation in Jodhpur area

Place and other utilities are provided by AMC

Due to COVID the center remained closed for some time

It has been restarted and patients are taking benefit of this center

Celebration of World Physiotherapy Day at Physiotherapy Center by free treatment of needy patients. Around 70 patients took benefit that day

Old Structure

Renovated School and Toilet Block

Vasudevanand Tambeswami High School in Timba was taken up by RCA Metro since 2 years. From an almost ruinous state it was renovated. In this Rotary Year the landscaping/ otla at site, finnishing of Toilets and adding of gate and doors took place. We will be registering the school as our Happy School Project.

Celebration of Sports Day

The Renovated Timba High School is very active being used by the students and staff under able guidance of their principal. Our RCA Metro RCC there, comprising of the new Sarpanch is also doing activities like sports, elocution etc. there.

A Computer Center was created this Rotary year at Vasudevanand Tambeswami High School so that village children could learn the latest technology. This was done through a donation of 4 Lac Rs. by Ms. Poyaniben Anant Dave.

School Bags and Notebooks were distributed to the Timba High School Children in January. Thanks to young donors Kairav Monga and Kahan Kanuga from USA

This year RCA Metro did many distributions for students at various schools. Notebook distribution at Parimal Municipal School and Paldi Gam school for slum children. Sweater distribution for needy children at Naroda GIDC School & refurbished computer given for mentally retarded children school at Vadaj


Club Activity Report: Service Projects Thalassemia Awareness Drive

Thalassemia Awareness amongst college students is the flagship project of Rotray Club Ahmedabad Metro. This year too, continuing the tradition we did week long Thalassemia awareness Drive (physical & virtual programs) amongst various colleges of Gujarat covering around 1200 students

Thalassemia Awareness drive at Chimanbhai Patel Institute (physical) and at various other Government Engineering Colleges at Chandkheda, Gandhinagar, Bharuch & at Gujarat Polytechnique covering in all around 1200 students

Members of RCA Metro also donated Rs. 65,000 which will help support transfussion of 13 needy Thalassemia children for 1 Year


Club Activity Report: Service Projects Udaan Scholarships

(till 10.03.22)

Rotary Club Ahmedabad Metro has joined hands with Yuva Unstoppable and Nrups Foundation for providing scholarship to deserving students

Students are selected on the basis of their merit and economic background

They are provided scholarship of Rs. 25,000/- per year to support their studies

Commitment is given to support him/her for 5 years

We have supported 55 students this year and donated Rs. 13.75 lakhs through our various members, for providing scholarship to them

Mentoring Sessions were arranged for needy students covered under Udaan Scholarships. Nearly 100 such students were given good advice by Engineers/ Doctors – members of RCAM Posters of virtual meetings

Udaan Scholarship Students studying in Engineering were taken on a Factory Visit of Pharmalab at Santej, so they could practically see things they have studied.

A week long Hair Donation Drive was organized ending on 20th November. Rotary Club of Suryoday provided the technical support in carrying out this drive. 15 people donated hair through RCA Metro, which included Anns. and children of Metrorians

Club Activity Report: Service Projects (till 10.03.22) Various Activities at Suvarna mandir Old Age Home

Rotary Club Ahmedabad Metro has adopted Suvarnamandir Old Age home (for needy people) since last few years and does various activities there. Similarly during this year at different occassions we distributed vitamin tablets, winter-kits and food hampers for them besides providing them lunch. Members also spend time with the 70 or more inhabitants and listen to their family problems and give them solace

Free Check up and follow up for Diabetes and an awareness lecture was organised for needy people of Suvarnamandir Old Age home under National Diabetes Day campaign


Club Activity Report: Service Projects (till 10.03.22) Declutter & Donate Drive: Dec ‘21 to ongoing Old Clothes, shoes and any other useful articles are collected from Member’s and with help of Rotaractors. These are then donated to needy people in villages or slums

Rotary Study Circle was formed with initiative by DGN Mehulbhai, Rtn. Hardik Sompura and Team. It organizes virtual lectures and Webinars for Rotarians, imparting knowledge about Rotary. These sessions are also uploaded on our YouTube Channel


Club Activity Report: (till 10.03.22) Hosted District Seminar on “Membership & Public Image” 08.08.’21

Rotary Club Ahmedabad Metro hosted the District Event on “Membership and Public Image” on 8th August ‘21. There was a large attendance of 287 people from 39 Clubs. In the history of District Events, for the first time, registration had to be closed. If there were no Covid restrictions at that time, the attendance could have been much more.

Rotary Club Ahmedabad Metro has actively participated in various District Webinars, District Events and also District Fellowship Events like Antakshari and Cricket tournament


Club Activity Report: (till 10.03.22) Participation in RILM “Ujjwal Drishti” Project

Rotary Club Ahmedabad Metro has actively participated RILM’s “Ujjwal Drishti” Project with other Clubs. Around 100 municipal school children’s eyes were tested at our member PDG Shashank Rathod’s Eye Hospital and optometrist Yusufbhai Chashmawala’s clinic. Around 33 children were provided with spectacles received from RILM.


Club Activity Report: New Generation (till 10.03.22) Sponsoring New Rotaract Club of Ahmedabad Metro & Nurturing existing Rotaract Club of Indus University

This year a new Rotaract Club of Ahmedabad Metro was sponsored by RCAM. It is a community based Club and some of our members children are members there. RCAM’s existing Rotaract Club of Indus University is also actively involved in doing lots of projects


Club Activity Report: New Generation (till 10.03.22) Activities by our 2 Rotaract Clubs: Rotaract Club of Ahmedabad Metro & Rotaract Club of Indus University

RCAM encourages young Rotaractors to actively do community service Projects besides fellowship events. Members also donate in Rotaractor’s programs like ‘Chat Ki Chahat”, which was providing tarpaulin tents to save poor people from sleeping in the open. Rotaractors are also invited to club programs. They have done bike rally for traffic awareness, donation of old clothes, teaching computers to municipal school children and many other such projects

We are active on various social media such as Facebook and YouTube

These social media accounts are regularly updated with latest happenings

Some of the meetings on zoom were telecasted live on Facebook and YouTube

Recorded meetings are also uploaded on YouTube

We are effectively using tagging feature of Facebook to reach to wider audience


Club Activity Report: Public Image Rotary in Lounges Project (till 10.03.22)

“Rotary in Lounges” project was envisioned as an exercise in Public Image. Rotary News magazine’s old issues are put by members in Public Libraries, Lounges of Hospitals & Hotel & saloons, in cafes, school libraries and even public libraries, clubs to make people curious to know more about Rotary
