Our decisions about where we live change throughout the different stages of our lives. We, oftentimes, have small starter homes as we’re just striking out on our own. Assisted Living
Aging in Place is staying in the home you live in. And, if needs arise, those needs are met by hiring outside assistance. Assistance can include home making assistance, transportation, personal care and skilled medical care. Frequency and duration of assistance varies by situation and can range from weekly visits to live-in assistance. Hospice can be available to assist the terminally ill.
An Assisted Living Residence is a full-time residence for adults that do not need ongoing skilled nursing care but require ongoing assistance with everyday tasks such as dressing, bathing and eating.
Independent Living – Senior Communities This is the choice of many active Seniors that choose to downsize. Senior Living Communities are age-restricted to those 50 or 55+ and consist of low-maintenance apartments, homes or villas, attached or detached, where residents can care for themselves, completely, without assistance.
Rehabilitation Short-term live-in centers that offer rehabilitation services to help recovery from an injury or an illness.
Skilled Nursing Full-time residences that offer private or semi-private rooms, medical care and rehabilitation, meals, activities and programs.
Alzheimer’s Live-in residences that offer a safe & secure setting and therapies and programs that allow those with Alzheimer’s Disease or other memory-related conditions to live life to their fullest.

Do you know the WARNING SIGNS of a HEART
ATTACK? Many people think that the signs of a heart attack are unmistakable…like the feeling of an elephant sitting on your chest. But, the symptoms of a heart attack may be more subtle and sometimes confusing.
Common Heart Attack Symptoms • Pressure, tightness, pain or a squeezing in your chest • Discomfort or pain in arm or shoulder • Nausea, vomiting, indigestion or abdominal pain • Lightheadedness or dizziness • Cold sweat • Shortness of breath Although men and women can experience similar symptoms of a heart attack, women can experience a heart attack without chest pressure. Not everyone has the same symptoms or the same severity of symptoms. Some people have no symptoms. But, the more symptoms you have, the greater the likelihood of a heart attack. Did you know that having a pet can be good for you? Studies have shown that having a pet can increase heart health by lowering blood pressure and cholesterol. The companionship of a dog or a cat can prevent loneliness that can lead to depression as well as other health problems. The routine of caring for another living creature adds a sense of purpose to daily life. Taking a dog for a walk is great exercise and, also, can keep you connected to the outside world. And, many people with pets show less signs of stress than those without. Senior pets can be a perfect match for seniors. Older dogs and cats are, oftentimes, overlooked by those that prefer puppies. But, older dogs and cats can already be house broken, are easier to take care of and have a lot of love to give. Senior dogs and cats are available for every budget. Whether you would like to foster a pet on a temporary basis, or, would like to adopt a forever furry friend, there are several area shelters that have senior dogs and cats available that are longing for a loving home. Many programs offer foster placement opportunities at no charge, adoptions at reduced rates, and, some offer ongoing veterinary care at no charge or at discounted rates.
