Secretary’s Report
Special thanks to John Coomber, Graham Read, John Forster for bringing their cars to the Avon Life care Retirement Home to display last month.
I would still like to extend my list of members I can contact for these visits. Some are for just static display and some to give a ride around the village. Only required for an hour or two and gives a lot of pleasure to the residents of these retirement villages. The more members I can call on, the less it will fall on just a few.

I would also like somebody with the enthusiasm to volunteer to co-ordinate these visits for the branch. This is only required approx. five or six times a year, like Father’s Day etc.
Snippets from National Executive Meeting held on 20th March 2021 in Wellington.
The subject of converting NZ vehicle fleet to electric was discussed and the possible restrictions to your hobby.
There was to be member of NZTA attend the meeting to give a talk but they cancelled the night before. The subject of restrictions on vehicle imports was discussed and it was pointed out it doesn’t appear to affect our type of vehicle. Vehicles over 40 years will be exempt and vehicles 30 to 40 years old can be imported under other exemptions that will exist.
Note for members attending Vero International Festival of Historic Motoring. Entry forms will be out very soon and a reminder that all entrants VIC certificates must be current at time of the rally. A small number of entry forms will be sent to branch secretaries. A link will be available on the website to allow you to print your own. This will save thousands in printing and mailing costs. Entries preferred to be online if possible as this will also save time having to enter them into a database.
There will be suitable events for Veteran cars.
Topic of Face book popularity was discussed, and suggestion made for rally organizers to use it for promoting your events. “VCC Facebook page”
There will be a lot more promotion forthcoming to advertise Daffodil Day Rally for Cancer.
Discussion on National Branding, more to come on this in near future.
