Chairman’s Report We really enjoyed the P Group rally which ended up in Motanau with the prize giving just beating off the rain. Thanks George for another great event. The South Island Easter Rally was also a very relaxed and enjoyable event despite the rain on Sunday forcing the cancellation of then field tests. Our National President was very impressed with the large number of entries, especially the number of veterans which were entered. We managed to have about three times the number of entries they have for the North Island National Easter Rally. Our congratulations go to the Ashburton Branch organising committee. Canterbury branch was well represented at this rally and certainly made their presence felt at the Saturday night function. Trophies were brought home by Graeme Sword on his 1914 Triumph motorcycle, and Dave Backhouse in his 1925 Hupmobile. Sadly we were not good enough to bring home the Penzoil Trophy this year, or the Sun Alliance trophy. Our congratulations go to South Canterbury who took these trophies home. South Canterbury Branch are hosting the National Veteran Rally in October this year, and they have offered a free entry to the Mount Cook Rally a week later for any veterans entering the National Veteran Rally. Arrangements can be made to leave the vehicles in safe keeping in Timaru so owners can return the next weekend for the Mount Cook Rally. This is a great opportunity for you veteran owners, so plan to take in both for the price of one. The clubrooms are looking good with a fresh coat of paint and the new Windows installed. Next project we will look at is an upgrade of the kitchen, after consultation with those who use it. Have you thought about accepting a nomination for the branch committee? Nomination forms are in the last hub. We need a Vintage convenor and a P Group convenor as well as a Club Captain. This is your opportunity to get involved in the decision making and future direction of club activities. Things will change, and you can be part of that. This month we have the Rural run on the 11th and Quiz night on the 18th. Looking forward to Irishman at the end of the month. Safe motoring. John Coomber

Commercial Report The April commercial noggin was held at The Barn, with a smaller than usual number attending, but still a chance to catch up regardless Wayne McCrone has volunteered to host the May commercial noggin, 3rd Wednesday as usual on 15th May at 134 Hoon Hay Road, all welcome and will see you there. I’ve had a couple of suggestions of possible places to visit, but am always open to ideas and happy to follow up to see if we can make something work, so if something comes to mind please let me know. Secretary’s Report
Gee it's May already, Car up on Blocks preparing for Irishman Rally. Looking forward to some new brakes. Get your entry in as it's going to be a biggie. By now the replacement windows should have been installed in the main hall, that will help get rid of the cold drafts that come though the louvers during the winter. As the committee had budgeted for this and the painting of the outside of the main hall last year it will be of great benefit and protection of this wonderful asset for future years. We thank one of our hard working members for his effots in trying to block the drafts around the windows last year, but this work had already been programmed in to be done after the bar renovations. Next on our list will be the kitchen upgrade, which is long overdue. Well onward and upward it is time to get those nomination forms in for your stint on the committee, we really would love to see some of our younger newer members join us with their fresh ideas and wouldn't it be great to have to vote on the numbers this year instead of pleading to you for help. I am happy to give the Branch another year as your Secretary as I really enjoy the comraderie and challenges this roll brings. Secretary Rod.

Club Captain’s Report April has been another busy month for the club before winter sets in. On Saturday, 6th April, Graeme's 2 Day Autumn Run started at the Kaiapoi New World Car Park. Unfortunately the weather deteriorated just as the rally started. Thankfully the rain held off until after the briefing and morning tea. Thanks to Graeme Sword and his family for organizing the weekend and hopefully there is a rally report in this HUB. The Annual P Group rally had better luck with the weather. An enjoyable run starting with field trials at Cutler Park and ended with lunch at Motunau Beach. Thanks to George Kear and family for a great day out. At the time of writing we have just finished the Anzac Day Run. Cold and fog to start, but by the time we left the Darfield Recreation Centre the sun was shining to develop into a really great day. Both of the above rallys had a really good turnout of vehicles. Thanks to Malcolm McGibbon, his family and helpers for another successful Anzac Run. Thanks also to Duttons for their sponsorship. The Rural Run on the 11th May is being organized by Rose & Mick Mariner details in April Hub. Irishmans Rally is 1st-3rd June - Entries close 10th May. Veteran followers - don't forget Colin & Jenny Hey's veteran noggin on Thursday 16th May. Cheers Dave Inwood

25,35, 50 and 60 YEAR BADGES (To be presented at the Branch Awards’ Dinner Sat 14 September 2019) If you are eligible for these badges, please contact Leigh Craythorne, telephone 342 9110 or email craythornes@actrix.co.nz for the appropriate form. Members must provide the proof of having completed 25 years continuous membership themselves (as there were only limited records held at National level before the early 1990’s.) E.g. You may have a copy of your nomination form or early membership list; the branch has bound copies of the “Hub” held in the library that may help you; ask the Branch Secretary’s permission to search the Branch Minutes; or I may be able to assist, as I have copies of some of the early membership lists. Please attend to this as soon as possible as the badges have to be applied for via National Office and forwarded to us from Wellington - delay may mean a wait until next year’s Awards’ Dinner for presentation. Please note: Members do not have to have been in the same branch for 25, 35, 50, 60 years – it is recognition for continuous membership of the Club.

Motorcycle Report This month heralds the beginning of the long winter; motorcycling events do tend to thin out from here on in until August or September. Past Events. 30 March – Fish & Chip Run. Small turn-out (the date clashed with the running of the Branch Annual Rally), those that did front up underwent a circuitous run to Lincoln for lunch. 10 April – Motorcycle Noggin, at The Casting Shop, Watts Road. Unfortunately this had to be cancelled at the very last minute by the company management. They were very apologetic, and assured us they will be happy to host us sometime in the future. 27 April – Scooter & Small (under 250 cc motorcycles) Run. This will be reported on next month. 27 April – Fish & Chip Run. Again, will be reported on next month. Future Events. 8 May, Motorcycle Noggin. Being held at the premises of Duttons Garage, 148 Carlyle Street, Sydenham, from 7.30 pm. Adjourn to a local watering hole afterwards.
25 May – Fish & Chip Run. Meet outside PMH Hospital, 10.15 am for a 10.30 am departure. With some luck the intended destination is Ashburton, there is a garage there well worth while raiding. This is the run that was supposed to have occurred last November, but got cancelled due to torrential rain forecast that day. 26 May – Ruff Run, Macleans Island’s Cutler Park. This is a day where a BBQ lunch can be partaken of, you get to see all sorts of interesting bikes, rat machines, etc. You might even get to ride one or two of them… Advance Notice. 12 June, Motorcycle Noggin Night. This doubles as the AGM of the Motorcycle Section, often supper is served. Some presentations of annual trophies, and the usual committee nominations etc. We are always on the lookout for good keen younger members of the section who would like to put forward their ideas on the future of the section through membership of the committee. Consider standing, it can be a bucket load of fun… Starts 7.30 pm, at The Barn, Cutler Park, Macleans Island. More info next month. That is about it for this month, catch you next time. Cheers, CML

9-90s Report
9 - 90s
Ray and Linda Maguinnes took care of this month's outing. The weather Gods were kind to us and we went to Ashburton. 45 cars. Destination - Bruce McIlroy's garage. For anyone who hasn't been there it is the limit. A beautiful garage situated in park-like surroundings and Bruce made us very welcome and invited everyone to wander through his workshops and storage facilities to look at his beautiful Bentleys and Rolls Royces from today and yesteryear. There were a few for sale and when you had a good look at them with all the restoration that had been done they were priced very reasonably.
For lunch we sat on their lawn and, believe it or not, we managed to make the biggest circle ever. Talk about herding stray cats! I had to walk around to announce the raffle winners. I could have done with a loud hailer. A great day was had by all. The Maguinnes's did a great job. They donated $80.00 entry fees to The Ellesmere Heritage Park. Thank you very much and a big thanks to Bruce McIlroy. May 8 Dave and Pam Dacombe Meet at Princess Margaret Hospital at 9.55am. June 12 Kevin and Jane Jory Meet at the Peg Carpark, Belfast Hotel at 9.55am. There will be a little bit of shingle on this outing. July 10 The Barn Mid Winter Christmas Potluck Lunch. Remember the Maori custom. Bring for 2 and eat for 1. Colin Clutterbuck is organising a hobby display for all those who have a hobby they like to share. Looking forward to seeing you all next month. 2019 Daffodil Rally for Cancer Sunday 25th August As part of a VCC National initiative to fundraise for the NZ Cancer Society, the VCC Canterbury Branch is once again running a special and open event on Sunday 25th August. As happened last year, this will be one of dozens of similar events held around the country on the same day. All veteran, vintage and classic vehicle owners, including individual enthusiasts, and member of ALL motoring clubs (including Custom and Hot-Rod Clubs) will be invited to participate in what was last year one of the largest old-vehicle runs the city has seen. As the host club, it would be great if we could once again lead the way and have a great turn-out of members and vehicles, so please mark the date in your diary now and plan to take part on the day and enjoy a great day out. Anyone keen on assisting with organising the event (particularly on the day), please contact Colin Hey, Ph 359-8737

Autumn Run
Report from the 2019 overnight Autumn run organised by Graeme Sword This report contains Fact, fable and fiction which goes to mean if I get anything wrong I can't be held responsible a pretty good out don't you think, so here goes. Around 44 cars parked at New World car park Kaiapoi with drivers and crew enjoying tea/coffee and fresh scones and cream, awaiting team talk and the starters orders from the boss Graeme. Boy O boy did I mention that the rain stayed away but there was the cold wind, never the less all cars heaters on and go, Graeme and Kay Shaskey in/on their Essex speedster assured me that heat was just a state of mind sounds like a Tui ad to me,anyway back to the run, 1st real point of interest was the traffic police parked off the road in the bush hoping to take pretty pictures of cars coming towards him, then next onto a comfort stop at Cheviot, then onto South Bay for bring your own lunch in the teeth of that southerly. After a shortened lunch stop it was off to Mr Harmons to view, 52 yankee cars, Chevs, Caddies and Fords including a couple of Edsels, as well as the cars on show a young Fella had painted the inside walls of the shed with a glorious mural of Kaikoura. Even though we were inside, outside the rain had set in, this was to continue until we passed Amberley on Sunday which didn't help my driving through the inland road without wipers. Back to Saturday arvo. most of us including the Blenheim members left Mr Harmons cars to go to their Motels or to Donegal house for rest or refreshments before again joining the members from Blenheim for an evening meal and social event. I believe they served 110 meals to us, there was a choice of roast pork or lamb a mix of roast veges along with carrots broccoli and cauliflower cheese all very tasty and then the band (Break Thru) played on, it was great to see many couples on the dance floor competing for space, we even did the gypsy tap, boy that brings back the Yaldhurst days, in the end the band stopped playing, I guess they didn't want any heart attacks but quiet a few stayed a bit longer catching up, after all we had another hour to spend in bed and there is only so much rain you can listen to. Sunday dawned wet, we met at the New World car park after a bit of a catch up it was through the Inland road to Waiau where we met for a light lunch supplied by local ladies with proceeds going to the local community, the lunch consisted of ham, corned-beef and salads followed by sweet cakes Juice, tea and coffee, a few of us went across the road to view the museum and model railway display, then it was time to make our way home. Most vehicles behaved but a Mk 2 Zephyr flat battery, ride upon car lost a wheel, and as mentioned the Mk 2 Triumph window wipers, flooded toilets for some rooms at Donegal House [probably due to high water table but all seemed corrected after breakfast, a few sore limbs from dance floor madness. However a great weekend thanks to the efforts of Graeme Sword and his family. Report from Jane and Kevin Jory. PS at the time of writing this Monday am wipers fixed as well as xmas tree tail lights after all it,s 9/90,s Wednesday and P Rally Sunday, a week off then around eastern bays last Sunday of the month, a busy car. 19

Autumn Run (from the organisers) Thank you to all the members who entered in this years event, (A very good number including some first timers and a bonus of some Blenheim VCC members), a pity about the weather as we had to cancel the calendar photo shoot beside the lake at Donegal House on Saturday afternoon. A very big thank you must go to Kathern Millar for inviting and organizing for the Blenheim VCC Member to join us at the Dinner and social and for organizing the excellent visit for all of us to Jeff Harman's shed full of very nice mostly large American cars and the very nice very large art works on all the walls. We also must thank all of you for the overwhelming support of the raffle, (all proceeds going towards everyone's Rally Plaques). We have already started the organizing of the 2020 Three day Rally, heading down to the Geraldine and South Canterbury Areas. (Watch this space) Graeme Sword & Family.

Velosolex Owners Group (VOG’s) Bob’s April Run – The challenge of the “HILL” Picture if you will ten late 60’s to early 70 year old male bikies faced with the challenge of scaling the “heights” of Cashmere Rd around the foot of the hills leading to Halswell Quarry. This was the challenge we were given by Bob Kinnaird who organised our April run but unfortunately couldn’t make it on the day. The fear was on the faces of the 10 riders who turned up on a fantastic morning on April 9th at the Old Stone House on Shalamar Drive when they read Bob’s route sheet and were faced with the reality of what was about to unfold on the first part of this month’s run. “How are our meagre little machines going to tackle these heights and how are our bodies going to cope with the pedalling that might be involved to get us over the “hills”. So it was with fear and trepidation that we set off into the unknown VOG 1 in the lead and Dave Backhouse as “tail end Charlie”. The 1st part on the flat along Cashmere Rd was great and then once we veered left at the “Y” intersection with Hendersons Rd the challenge started, believe it or not there is actually a “slight” incline from the time you take this turn, well it felt like it by the change in sound from the wee 49cc engine powering us along but this was only a promise of bigger things to come once we hit the real hills closer to the Quarry. Surprisingly enough slowly but surely everybody made it to the regroup point on the corner of Cashmere and Kennedys Bush Roads. It was interesting to hear of the different techniques the riders had come up with on how to tackle the mission, Rhys Jones’ theory was to build up a great amount of speed before approaching the foot of the hill and keep this power on all the time leaning into the corners and screaming down the other side of the hill so there was enough momentum to get him up the top of the next hill. It must have worked well as Rhys overtook VOG 1 near the brow of the 1st hill as though he was standing still (I think I was clocking 8kmh) Gary Thompson and Ray Oakes Solex’s were going extremely well this month also as they too zoomed past me. Must get my fuel filter cleaned as I’m sure my wee girl performed better the last time we did that route. A ride into the Halswell Quarry was next on the route sheet, Bob had organised some information sheets on the history of the Quarry, we discovered some interesting facts from these sheets on quarrying techniques in the early days and the transporting of the rocks and the stone into Christchurch city during the late 1800’s and 1900’s for the construction of our early buildings and the forming of our roads. Bullock teams in the early days would pull waggons of stone from the rock face down a long ridge and then to the point of sale in Christchurch. Later stone was transported to town by horse and cart and then between 1900 and 1926 traction engines were used to move the stone. In one day they could make three return trips to Christchurch with three waggons of stone. Over the years as transport technology improved so did the quarry efficiency. Trucks arrived in the early 1920’s and gradually replaced traction engines and horses and drays for carting stone. That’s enough of the Halswell Quarry history, which we know now as the park that we enjoy today, great for many activities including a pleasant picnic spot that many families enjoy in the summer months. From the Quarry it was then a pleasant ride to the lunch stop at the TaiTapu Hotel via Ellesmere Road where once again the race was on. It’s amazing how a long straight road can bring out the “boy” in us old fella’s as we all try to outdo each other squeezing that last bit of speed out of these incredible wee bikes. An enjoyable lunch break gave us a chance to restore our weary bodies after the mornings strenuous activity. For the afternoon run Bob had organised a visit to VCC club member Peter Monro’s homestead off Old Tai Tapu Road to view his collection of Mini’s, wow he has a few and what a magnificent job he makes of his restorations. There were Mini pickups, Travellers, Vans a Mini Cooper “S” an Aussie Mini Cooper

Velosolex Owners Group... (VOG’s) 1275cc plus a few more variants waiting in the wings for Peter’s TLC. Thanks for allowing us to view these Peter. So after all the day’s excitement It was then back to the start / finish line and load the bikes on the trailers and head for home. Thanks to Bob for an interesting day, sorry you missed the fun, but I think secretly Bob didn’t want to take on the Challenge of the Hill! Royce VOG 1

2019 Annual Rally I spent most of the week prior to the Annual Rally on the West Coast working on the recovery effort following the loss of the Waiho Bridge at Franz Josef on 26th March. I got home at 5.00pm on the Friday, having spent the previous hour on the phone as I drove from Springfield dealing with a very technical enquiry, so by the time I walked in the door I was pretty much shot. I remember thinking “do I really want to go on the Annual Rally now – I’d rather just spend some time in my shed getting my head straight again”. I’d entered our veteran Wolseley in the Rally, so it wasn’t going to be the easiest or most comfortable car to take, and it needed an hour or so of cleaning and checking before it was good to go. I seriously considered calling Katryna Shaw and putting an apology in, or perhaps taking one of the later Wolseleys we own, to make it easier.
I sat down and watched the Crusaders (are we still allowed to say that word?) beat the Hurricanes, and felt a bit better, so I checked the weather forecast. Fine and 20 degrees for Saturday and Sunday, so things were looking much more promising. I decided that a day in the veteran with Jenny, and with good friends around, would be much better than being at home, so it was all on! Up at 6.00am, have breakfast, and then outside to wipe the car over, polish the brass, and do all the usual checks before we head off for the 9.00am start time at Cutler Park. A little bit fresh first thing in the morning, but so good to be out in an open car in the morning sun, cruising along at 30mph. Twenty minutes later we arrived at Cutler Park, the main oval already full with vehicles of all ages, and people wandering around talking and in good spirits. At 9.15am Katryna called everyone together to give us an outline of the day’s events, emphasising that the day was intended to be easy and good fun, and to stay safe on the roads. Long, medium and short routes had been organised to the finish point at Rangiora Showgrounds, beginning with a short timed section as we headed away from Cutler Park. Jenny and I delayed our departure until many of the cars had left – we were doing the short run, and we didn’t want to hold anyone up. We travelled towards the north side of town, through Northwood, soon catching up with Graeme Sword cruising along on his veteran Triumph motorcycle. He stopped beside us at the Main North Road lights, asking if he could follow us, as he’d sellotaped his instructions into the scroll on his handlebars not realising that the second page was on the reverse side of the paper. For the rest of the run we could hear and see him, tucked up behind and to the left of us, maintaining about the same speed as we could manage. We carried on out through Marshlands, then on through the now bare red-zoned Brooklands, then Kaianga. Into Kaiapoi, crossing over the motorway there, and then heading north again through Tuahiwi, and onwards to Rangiora. We then did a loop taking us through the main street, carrying on to the west of town, heading north again to the Ashley river and then back to the Showgrounds. By now it was 11.00am, but we were still only about the 5th car to arrive. Soon, other cars began rolling in. The medium route had gone out through Darfield, and through the Waimak and Ashley Gorges before heading to Rangiora. The long route had made an excursion through the Pyramid Valley and Hawarden – those cars now looking a bit dusty. Everyone I spoke to had enjoyed their runs. We were later told by Gerorge Kear that the same routes were used for the Annual Rally 30 years ago – as he said, the roads were the same as they were then, but the cars and owners are now 30 years older! As we enjoyed our picnic lunches, the field tests got underway. The first involved tying a board on a rope behind each vehicle, onto which a wine bottle was placed. The aim was to tow it from point A to B as quickly as possible without losing the bottle off the board. Jenny and I aced that one. The second test was a blindfold test negotiating some cones. It would be fair to say Jenny and I had a communication problem (slight difference of opinion about what left-hand down means – all my fault of course), and destroyed our chances of a podium placing. All good fun though.

2019 Annual Rally... Tony Craythorne and I then did the concours judging, not the easiest of tasks when so many great vehicles are present. I was particularly impressed by the Model AA Ford tow-truck owned by Martin Rooney – freshly restored to perfection, and looking so good. Another was the Morris Minor convertible owned by Shirley and Bruce Shadbolt – a car that didn’t necessarily stand out at first, but when we had a look, what a beautiful car and what a superb restoration – just as it would have been when it left the showroom. It turned out this was actually Shirley’s first car – sold years ago, found and then bought back again, and now restored. Choosing the best motorcycle was difficult. Graeme Sword’s Triumph was excellent, but so was Joseph McClintock’s recently restored 4-cylinder Henderson. Joseph had chosen to retain the original ‘patina’ on his machine, so it wasn’t quite as bright and shiny as Graeme’s, but if there was a prize for the most impressive sounding machine on the rally, Joseph would have won it hands-down. Around about 2pm, Katryna gathered everyone together again to explain the plan for Day 2 of the Rally, then we all headed for home. Still enough time left to go home and mow the lawns and spend a bit of time in the shed! Sunday’s event was simple, but a great way to end the Annual Rally. We were to all meet at 12.00pm at the new ‘Platform Bar, Restaurant and Café’, on Tram Road in Mandeville for lunch and the prizegiving. No pressure or instructions – just a good enjoyable and social way to end the Rally. This proved to be an excellent venue, being new, and spacious enough to accommodate everyone. There was also plenty of room for everyone to park in a reserve area right next door. Better still, the weather was once again perfect, so most people chose to sit and eat outdoors. It was interesting to see that probably half of the Rally entrant’s chose to bring a different vehicle to the one used the day before, with many of those being another club-eligible vehicle. Jenny and I were one of those, bringing our Wolseley 6/90 instead of a second run in the veteran, which would have been from West Melton and return again. It was a good excuse to get another car out and give it some exercise. After lunch, the winners of each category were announced by Katryna, with the trophies presented by George Kear. These are listed below, so congratulations to you all. To everyone else – thanks for your participation. We were all winners in a way – it was a very, very good Annual Rally, and I’m so glad we took part in it. A special thanks too to Katryna and Bryce, and to the wider Kear family and other helpers who made it all happen. Upcoming Events Restoration of the Year Sunday 9 June The restoration of the year rally is an opportunity for you to tick off one of your club events to meet the regulations before entering for a restoration trophy. It is a small run starting from the clubrooms around 10am and returning for a picnic lunch around midday. While lunching in the sun cars that are entered for a trophy will be judged in front of the hall.
To make things easier for the Judges we request that the following form be completed by those who wish to enter for a Trophy. This will allow the judges to have more information on the vehicles before the day to correctly put them in the right category and understand their history. There is no cost for entering but the close off date for this information is Friday 31 rd of May. Only cars entering for a trophy need to provide this information. It would be great to see any members join us for lunch and look over the cars during judging. If you want to participate in the run just turn up on the day.

Our intention is to attend the ANZAC in Action at Rangitata Island Air Field, a day trip to Tekapo and Saturday and Sunday morning teas and Dinners at the Hotel. By the time you read this the committee will have had their meeting so you could pencil your accommodation in at a motel , motor camp or hotel everyone is to book their own accommodation. For confirmation of the date please ring Graeme Sword 3277812, the tentative date for accommodation is Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of April 2020 with our return home on Monday 27th (ANZAC Day observed)

65th Irishman Creek Rally 2019 1-3 June 2019 This year’s rally will start opposite the Gladstone Hotel in the main street of Fairlie. Please remember this is a state highway and can be very busy. Park back from the road in a considered manor to allow enough space for the 150 plus vehicles that normally attend. Can we please gather at 8.00am for a quick briefing before departing at 8.30am. Rally sheets can be collect from the Gladstone Hotel in Fairlie on Friday 31st May from 6pm -9pm. If it is possible it would be far easier if everyone can collect their packs on this night. Sundays run will start from outside the Gladstone Hotel again. Can we please gather at 8.30am before the start. Prize giving and supper will be in the community hall which will open from 6.30 for a 7.30 presentation. While back up vehicles are provided all vehicles must be self sufficient and carry chains for mud or snow and be adequately prepared to cover some distance on back country roads with river crossings. The Irishman Rally is open to Vintage Car Club Members only and for Vintage and Veteran aged vehicles. The winner and runner up will be drawn as per tradition from the entrants participating. All entrants are eligible without exception. The winner and runner up will be joined by a small team to assist with the task of organising the following year’s event. This is what makes the rally special and provides the variety we see each year as a new person gets to put their mark on this event. While this is a challenge there is a team behind you.

The Club Fire Engine - Update Our Club Fire Engine caught fire coming back from Cust after the 2018 Commercial Rally. It was towed back to the tunnel barn the same day ($700 later) Thanks to Vero Insurance we came to a good agreement as the fire engine was under-insured. Our Branch got a payout so it was left to our Branch to sort things out. The fire engine was towed away to have the motor removed then bought back to the tunnel barn again. Once again it was towed south of Lincoln for panel & paint work (which has nearly been completed by George Campbell). A new wooden dashboard has been made by Colin Clutterbuck. The wood was supplied by Donald Crawford (Crawford Mouldings) plus varnishing. The carb which melted and fell off is being converted to an SU type. Dave Bennetts and his work Volvo truck with a straight bar has done all the towing since the fire engine arrived at the tunnel barn. He has provided this free of charge. Electric work (lots of it) is being carried out by Roy and Annette (Kaiapoi Auto Electrics). Roy has heaps on his plate. He has started on the engine and dash gauges etc. When the fire engine comes back to the tunnel barn, then all the rest still needs to be done. More to come‌ Mark Drury and Don Bennetts
