Our thoughts are so powerful. If we want to affair proof our marriages, we must make our thoughts work for us instead of against us. A few years ago I watched a friend get tangled up in an emotional affair. She was a strong Christian woman who loved her family but the attraction to this other man seemed unavoidable. She tried to talk herself out of it but her heart played tricks on her mind and the justifications for letting things go just a little further soon led her to a very dangerous place. She was becoming emotionally attached to this other man.

The minute I think it could never happen to me is the moment I become a prime target for Satan. Jesus warned his disciples in Matthew 26: 41,”Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” The Life Application NIV Bible commentary says, “Jesus used Peter’s drowsiness to warn him about the kinds of temptation he would soon face. The way to overcome temptation is to keep watch and pray. Watching means being aware of the possibilities of temptation, sensitive to the subtleties, and spiritually equipped to fight it.” Watching: I now realize that I need to be aware that I am just as prone to this temptation as anyone. and honest about meeting each other’s needs and investing wisely in our marriage. If we get into a rough place, we need to be willing to get help. I love the quote, “If you are busy rowing the boat, you won’t have time to rock it.” The more my husband and I are taking care of each other, the less attractive temptations will seem. Sensitive to the Subtleties: I will have to be honest with myself that temptations do exist. When another man says or does something I wish my husband would say or do and doesn’t, it can make me lessen my husband in my heart and build up this other man. This is a seed of poison. If watered and fed, this seed will sprout and spread and devastate. Seeds seem so small until you realize that within them they contain the potential to become huge. So, I will be steadfast to keep the fertile ground of my heart pure. Spiritually Equipped: Philippians 4:8 reminds us, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” I must park my mind with the truth and the truth is I am married to an amazing man. He is not perfect and sometimes our marriage can be hard but I made a commitment to Him in a covenant before God and there are no Biblical reasons in our marriage why we should ever part. Therefore, I’ve made the decision not to part in big ways or small. My friend did the hardest but wisest thing she could have done in telling me about her emotional affair. It helped her to see she needed to flee and have someone else hold her accountable. But it also helped me. Her admission made me aware and alert to the dangers lurking in any kind of unhealthy emotional connection with another man. Dear Lord, may I forever treasure my marriage and see it worthy to be protected. Help me to be a courageous woman who absolutely flees from any and every situation where there is even a hint of danger. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Sow a character; reap a destiny.” It starts with a thought, but it can lead to a destiny. The Devil knows that if he can get us to think about something, to consider something, then he almost has us. Eve’s mind certainly wasn’t filled with the things of God when the Devil approached her. Had it been, she could have effectively resisted his temptations. When we have the Word of God hidden in our hearts, it will give us an important resource that we can call upon to effectively resist temptation.

Noah was promoted by being selected to build the ark, but then he had to deal with the pain of riding out the storm. Joseph was promoted in his spirit and in his dreams, and immediately became rejected by his brothers. David received a promotion by the prophet Samuel as the next king, and then had to run from Saul to avoid his spears. A famous preacher once said, “God will promote you to your level of tolerance for pain.” The pain and tension could simply be the evidence that you have arrived at a new level. 3. Every new level has a PRIZE. Always remember that the greater the investment, the greater the return. You may have to sacrifice time for your education but in the end, it will be worth it. Maybe you are being asked to go from employee to manager. The task may seem daunting, but remember that God is with you. It could be that God has asked more of you in this season, but remember that the seeds you sow today will be the harvest you reap tomorrow. Keep your eye on the prize. God wants to take you to the next level. The question is: Are you ready for the NEXT LEVEL?

June 10, 2014— As graduation season wraps up, newly minted college and high school grads are entering the job market, diplomas in hand, to make their way in the world. Barna Group’s FRAMES research reveals Millennials’ perspectives on the challenges they face as they join America’s workforce. 20 and Something, written by David H. Kim, execu-
tive director of the Center for Faith and Work in New York City, unpacks Barna’s vast data on Millennials and work, calling, marriage, family, faith and more. Kim offers insight for institutions like churches and businesses on how to understand and relate to twentysomethings as they emerge into adulthood. The traditional commencement speech platitudes that welcome students into the opportunities of adulthood—”the whole world is before you”; you just have to “follow your dreams” to “make a difference”—often ring hollow in this depressed economy. Hundreds of thousands of graduating Millennials are discovering the

Considering most Millennials remain optimistic about someday achieving that “dream job”—52% believe it’s within reach in the next five years—they seem to believe the degree will pay off at some point. Job Prospecting The current economic climate poses great challenges for job-hunting twentysomethings. The unemployment rate of 18- to 31-year-olds in 2012 was 13%.¹ Even those young adults who are college educated are struggling to find employment; the rate of unemployment of twentysomethings who hold a BA degree or higher jumped from 7.7% in 2007 to 13.3% in just five years. Given these statistics, it would be easy in this depressed job market for Millennials to become extremely nervous about their financial situations and cynical about work.

Only four in 10 twentysomethings would say they need their college degree for their current job (42%) or that it’s related to the work they’re doing (40%), and the same number wish they’d chosen a different major altogether. In the end, just under half of Millennials (47%) would strongly agree their degree was worth the cost and time. The degree-to-job disparity seems to bother parents most of all. While only about onethird of Millennials believe universities “have my best interests at heart,” that’s nearly twice

Yet in spite of the bleak economic landscape, Millennials remain optimistic about their future prospects. In addition to the majority who believe they’ll get their dream job, nine in 10 Millennials (88%) believe they currently have enough money or will eventually meet their long-term financial goals.² Even among the unemployed and financially strapped, 75% believe they will someday have enough money. They are more optimistic about their economic future than older generations. While 55% of Americans over fifty-five believe young people will have a worse life than their parents, fewer than half of Millennials agree. One of the reasons Millennials are so resilient
in the face of a tough job environment is that many of them refuse to be defined and confined by their job choices or lack thereof. In fact, only 31% would say career is central to their identity—listing it lower than any other factor except technology.
Millennials see their twenties as a time to explore their career options so they can find a job that will provide that sense of meaning and fulfillment. This may be a little confounding to their parents. Two-thirds of Boomers say “starting your career” is crucial in your twenties, while only half of Millennials agree. When it comes to work and career, more than anything this generation wants to be inspired. Finding a job they are passionate about is the career priority Millennials ranked highest (42%). They don’t want a job merely for the sake of a paycheck, and they are willing to wait to find the right job. Some may interpret this willingness to wait as a sign of courage, while others may view it as colossal irresponsibility. Having grown up in an era where parents and teachers were constantly telling them they could “be whatever you want to be,” many Millennials see this decision as their prerogative, even if it means having to live off unemployment benefits or parental assistance. Because job satisfaction and fulfillment are so important to this generation, Millennials refuse to compromise on what they want out of work, which is a lot: They cite working for themselves, a job adaptable to their strengths, having a lot of variety, and the freedom to take risks as essential career priorities, in addition to being able to fund their personal interests. Working in a positive work environment where their input is valued is extremely important to them, suggesting Millennials prefer to work in organizations where the structure is “flatter” and less hierarchical.³Millennials want regular feedback and expect to be praised when they do a good job. They also want to work in a stimulating atmosphere, where they can release their creative passions. For many who are older, these characteristics and expectations make the Millennials a challenge to work with.
In terms of social impact, twentysomethings have demonstrated a strong desire to work at a job that has a positive impact on causes and issues that are important to them. They feel corporate employers should be socially conscious and have a “triple bottom line”— conscious of their profits, their impact on the environment and their treatment of workers. This elevation of job fulfillment over security has led to an increase in job-hopping among young adults. Statistics show Millennials just assume they will have multiple career changes. Gone are the days when an entry-level employee could expect to remain with one employer throughout his or her career. While the average worker today remains at his or her job for 4.4 years, Millennials generally expect to remain at a job for less than three.

These public opinion studies were conducted using a mix of telephone (including cell phones) and online interviewing among 4,495 adults. s the school year was coming to an end excitement filled our campus as children quickly signed up to be a part of this year’s “Talent Show”. Submissions poured in as the “talent show board” reviewed the numbers and approved the songs. The most popular song without a doubt was “Let it go” from the movie “Frozen”. It almost seemed as though everywhere I went I could hear the song playing in the background. The tune is so catchy that I oftentimes found myself humming the chorus uninterruptedly…Let it Go, Let it Go.

Oftentimes, we as believers, know that we have been freed through Christ and that in Him we are made brand new. God says “Now I will break his yoke from you and tear away your shackles” (Nahum 1:13). However it’s almost like we are mentally programmed and as we submit to those mental playbacks we fail to test and approve God’s good, perfect and pleasing will for our lives. How often have you clung to this tart complaint, hoping to draw from it enough strength to protect your heart from further danger and damage?
“You tell me to be thankful, Nancy. But you’ve never been in my shoes. If you had any idea what I’ve been through, you wouldn’t be so quick to say that.”
“Why is life so hard?”
True, Christ-centered, grace-motivated gratitude fits everywhere, even in life’s most desperate moments and difficult situations. Even when there are “no answers,” it gives hope. It transforms overwhelmed strugglers into triumphant conquerors.
Why Me?
“Why can’t other people just be normal?” “Why did this have to happen to me?” “Why won’t anybody love me for who I am?” “Why isn’t God answering my prayers?” “Why do I have to live alone like this?” “Why doesn’t the Bible work for me like it does them?” “Why does this problem never seem to end?” “Why am I just supposed to accept this?” “Why me?”
The concept of gratitude is not entirely missing from our world. Just walk through a Hallmark store in the mall. You’ll see lots of products on the shelves, decorated with daisies and pastel colors, encouraging us to think thankful thoughts. Their messages are inspiring, and I can appreciate the lightness and refreshment they offer in the midst of life’s many challenges. But somehow, most of these expressions of gratitude seem more at home at a tea party than in the tumble and turmoil of a life that you and I know all too well.

Feeling betrayed. Feeling left out. Feeling inferior… mistreated… underappreciated. Like a whirlpool spinning around in never-ending circles, tugging and draining and pulling us down with every sweep of self-pity, we sink lower and lower into ourselves, into our problems. Away from God. Ungrateful. “People tell me to keep my head up. They tell me this ill only last for a season. But this ‘season’ of life has gone on for so long. And I still don’t see any end in sight.”
Journal Have I experienced the difference between Christian gratitude and just good manners? How does gratitude help me experience God’s best in all situations? Where is gratitude ranked on my list of “necessary Christian values?”
Pray Lord God, there is such a difference between real Christian gratitude and “greeting-card-store” gratitude. Help me to truly experience the blessings from being grateful in all circumstances. Forgive me for not being thankful so frequently. I couldn’t even begin to list all the ways You have blessed me! Thank You Lord! Amen.
You see, gratitude is a lot more than jonquils and journaling pages. Gratitude is a lifestyle. A hard-fought, graceinfused, biblical lifestyle. And though there’s a sense in which anyone can be thankful—for God has extended His common grace to all— the true glory and the transforming power of gratitude are reserved for those who know and acknowledge the Giver of every good gift and who are recipients of His redeeming grace.

Better Than Jesus?

Jesus is there, speaking to you, directing you, guiding you, giving you insight and wisdom as to how to skillfully live your life. Imagine. How awesome would that be? What could be better than that? To be able to live the Christian life - with Christ by your side! The Gospel of John, actually says that there’s something better. Something better than Jesus? What could possibly be better than having Jesus walk around with us everywhere we go?
I
magine tomorrow morning when you wake up, standing next to your bed, is Jesus. You get up. You get ready. He’s still there. You make your way to the kitchen. You pour a cup of coffee. He’s there. You leave the house, get in your car and begin your commute to work. He’s sitting right next to you.
These words actually came from Jesus Himself. In John’s Gospel, Jesus is about to go to the cross and be crucified. He gathers His disciples together in a special room. During the meal, Jesus began to share His heart with these close friends. He tells them of the events that will soon transpire. The betrayal, denial, suffering, death and ultimately His resurrection and return. In short, Jesus says, “I’m leaving.”

Jesus essentially communicates, “I’m leaving. But don’t worry, God is going to send another one, just like me. Only, he won’t be walking “with” you, he will “live with you and be in you.” Jesus says, this “is for your good that I’m going away.” This phrase, “for your good” is sometimes translated, “it’s to your advantage.” The word itself can mean, “better.” Jesus says, “It’s good. It’s to your advantage. There’s something better than having Me with you physically…..” What could be better than Jesus walking with us? Actually, having the Holy Spirit live inside of us guiding, teaching, directing, helping and empowering us to live in the here and now. The Apostle Paul said something quite striking in the Book of Romans. He declared to a group of Christ-followers, “the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you (Romans 8:11). Can you fathom that? Imagine. Jesus is crucified. His lifeless body is laid in a grave. Three days later, the Spirit of God breaths life into his nostrils. His heart begins to beat. Miraculously, he’s alive! And, now the Apostle Paul says that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living in you. Now, tomorrow morning when you wake up, Jesus may not be standing by your bed. But, rest assured, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead will be there. If you’re a Christ-follower, the Holy Spirit is inside of you. He is with you everywhere that you go and in everything that you do. He is there, ready to lead, guide, direct and empower you. He’s present to give you insight and wisdom for skillful living. May you grow in awareness of His present-nearness, learn to lean on Him with all your might and experience the Spirit-filled life. This Week, spend some time prayerfully reflecting on Romans 8:9-11. Write Romans 8:11 on an index card and memorize it. Perhaps, put the card in your car and meditate on the verse while you’re driving. In the morning and throughout the day, remind yourself that God the Holy Spirit is “with you” and “in you.” Ask Him to increase your awareness of His present-nearness. JERRELL JOBE

of unwed mothers who did not have a place to live. From there PTC grew to provide services to Weslaco, Mission and then Brownsville. PTC recognized the need for emphasizing education and information on abortion and adoption after abortion was legalized in 1973 and the numbers of abortions began to rise. Since 1989 PTC has seen close to 2,500 babies rescued from being aborted due to the compassionate care, support and educational facts provided to the client. PTC is a faith based organization and along with these services each client is offered prayer and the opportunity to accept Christ into their hearts. Since 1989 5,575 clients have made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior thru the ministry of PTC. How do you give these services for free? We are a faith base organization that depend on the generosity of churches, business and individuals. Do you receive any government funding? No. How does PRC prevent crisis pregnancies?
Valley Christian Magazine met up with Pregnancy Resource Center’s Director, Danny Anderson, to find out more about this important ministry. What is PRC’s purpose? We are a not-for-profit organization committed to helping ladies and families in unplanned pregnancy situations. Our Free, confidential services include: 1) FREE pregnancy testing and medicaid verification form completion; 2) information concerning positive options available for mother and her unborn child; 3) family mediation; 4) prenatal care resources, training and information; 5) post-delivery eduction, information and training; 6) post-abortion grief recovery classes & retreats. What is the history of PRC and where did it start? Pregnancy Testing Centers was founded by Frank and Tere Painter in 1989. The organization began in Harlingen by meeting the need

When Worry is Part of Your Personality By Tracie Miles

is comment wasn’t meant to be critical, but it immediately pierced my heart.
I was explaining to my husband how worried I’d been about several situations and reciting the reasons why my worry was justified. He gently reminded me that worrying wouldn’t help anything, and I quickly replied, “But I can’t help it!” Then he said with a smile, “I know you can’t. Worrying is just part of your personality.” Deep down I knew I worried too much, especially when it came to my children’s safety, their happiness and situations I couldn’t control. But I didn’t want to be labeled a “worrier,” and I certainly didn’t want to admit worrying was “part of my personality.” Yet, if I were honest with myself, I knew it was true. Although I trust God and know He is in control, the human side of me often tends to worry. I’m thankful God isn’t surprised by my worry, and wants to help me overcome it. Jesus even addressed this very issue when He taught His followers in what we now call the Sermon on the Mount. In this teaching, Jesus shared detailed instructions for how Christians should live their daily lives and how faith should shape behavior — including how to deal with worry. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus specifically told His
followers not to worry about food or clothes because God would provide for their needs, just as He does for the birds of the air. This promise of provision and protection applies to all areas of our lives, including help with our problems and easing our inner-most anxieties. Jesus knew the people of that time struggled with worry, just as we do. At times it is hard to trust God with the concerns that weigh heaviest on our hearts. Instead of trusting Him to handle what we cannot, we waste the opportunities of today worrying about the possibilities of tomorrow. God wants us to leave our problems in His hands, rather than let them become a stumbling block in our faith. Sometimes it takes a gentle reminder, such as my husband’s innocent words, to remind me of this promise. I needed to stop holding onto my worries and quit continually reminding Jesus to be as concerned as I was. Instead, I should daily turn those worries into prayers. I have since committed to worrying less and trusting Jesus more and have experienced the freedom that comes with truly entrusting my needs to Him. Although we all have things in our lives that lead to worry and reasons to be concerned, what peace we can enjoy if we consciously choose to lay down each day’s worries at God’s feet and leave tomorrow’s worries up to Him, too.

Lord, forgive me for not trusting You with my problems and for letting my worry become a wedge in my faith. Give me the strength to put them in Your hands and avoid trying to take them back. Help me learn to trust You more and believe You are always in control of my life and the things that worry me most. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.” (MSG) REFLECT AND RESPOND: What worries are most heavily weighing on your heart today that you need to turn over to God? Have you been trying to handle everything on your own, without God’s help? Read Matthew 6:25-34 and ask God to speak to your heart through these verses.

la Segunda Guerra Mundial Hans Rookmaaker fue un integrante activo de la resistencia holandesa. Pero fue capturado por los alemanes y enviado a un campo de concentración nazi, donde comenzó a leer la Biblia. Al estudiar la Palabra de Dios, descubrió que el íntimo deseo de Dios es perdonar nuestros pecados. De modo que entregó su vida a Cristo y se maravilló por el gozo y la libertad que había hallado. Cuando Rookmaaker fue liberado de prisión al final de la guerra, inmediatamente se unió a una iglesia. Pero en lugar de tener comunión con personas libres, se sorprendió de encontrar tantos cristianos que aún vivían en la esclavitud del pecado y no experimentaban el perdón de Dios. Por otra parte, un personaje en una obra de Voltaire murió murmurando: “Dios perdonará--ése es su trabajo.” Aunque el perdón no puede darse por sentado de esa manera, Dios nunca quiso que vivamos en esclavitud. A veces la confesión también implica restitución (Exodo 22:1-15). Por lo general, éste es un aspecto olvidado de la confesión. Si nuestro pecado privó a alguien de algo que le pertenecía o correspondía (algo material, dinero o trabajo), no sólo debemos disculparnos con la persona ofendida sino que también debemos pagar tan pronto como sea posible. La maravilla de la Escritura es la buena nueva de que Dios perdona de balde a quien con corazón sincero confiesa su pecado. Manasés fue uno de los reyes más malvados de Judá. El echó por tierra las reformas de Ezequías y sirvió a dioses falsos con más celo de lo que lo habían hecho las naciones paganas que Dios había destruido ante los israelitas (2 Crónicas 33:1-9). Sin embargo, al ser capturado por los asirios, Manasés se humilló ante el Señor--y Dios lo perdonó. Si Dios pudo perdonar a un rey pagano y malvado cuando éste se humilló, con seguridad que también nos perdonará si confesamos nuestros pecados y nos arrepentimos. La confesión es humillante, pero “si confesamos a Dios nuestros pecados, podemos seguros de que ha de perdonarnos y limpiarnos de toda maldad” (1 Juan 1:9 BD). Aprenda de memoria este pasaje y a menudo pida a Dios que lo haga realidad en su vida. Why Did John The Baptist Call Jesus The Lamb Of God? By Carey Kinsolving & Friends
“John the Baptist called Jesus the Lamb of God because Jesus is too holy and wonderful for him to even untie his shoes,” says Mitchell, 8. Before John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus as the Lamb of God, he talked about his sandals. By saying he was not worthy to untie Jesus’ sandals, John put himself in the position of the lowest slave. Anything to do with feet was usually reserved for the lowest slave in a household. That’s why Jesus shocked his disciples when he cleaned their feet before they ate the Passover meal on the night before his crucifixion.

The majority of Old Testament passages that mention “lamb” refer to a sacrifice (85 out of 96). As a nation, Israel began its history by putting lamb’s blood on the doorposts and lintels of each house. The death angel took the lives of all Egypt’s firstborn, but passed over the houses that had lamb’s blood on the door. To this day, Jews all over the world celebrate Passover.

The prophet Isaiah foresaw the Messiah’s sacrifice when he wrote: “He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth” (Isaiah 53:7). Think about this: All the sacrificial lambs offered in the Old Testament point to Jesus Christ. Memorize this truth: John 1:29 quoted above. Ask this question: Have you beheld and believed in the Lamb of God as the one who took away your sin?

ometimes the most accomplished artistry is birthed out of the most trying adversity, which coupled with the chemistry that comes from the bond of brotherhood, puts Word Records newcomers About A Mile well beyond their years. The trio of early twenty-somethings hail from the working class town of Butler, Pennsylvania (just outside of Pittsburgh), and can remember embracing their musical instincts as early as they did a devout Christian faith, first modeled by their extremely hard working father, a steel mill staffer who always managed to make ends meet for his family of eight thanks to a firm reliance on the Lord.

So with that suggestion, the brothers sent the multiple Dove Award winner a message and hoped they’d at least get a response, but wound up with so much more than they could’ve ever imagine. “We wanted to make the best music possible as long as it glorified the Lord, which is why we reached out to Ian given his high standards and commitment to faith,” shares Adam. “We simply said we made a little money from the tour and wanted to hire him to record a song. A couple of days later, he said ‘save your money. I’m coming to your next show.’ We’d never gotten any type of response like that and weren’t even looking for our big break, but sure enough, he flew from Nashville to Pittsburgh, said we were just the kind of band he was looking for- rough edges and all- and he set up a showcase for Word Records that eventually got us signed. I learned most of what I know from Ian.” “Right after we signed with Word, I got sick and went through a lot of pain and weakness,” Adam reveals. “A lot of the songs ended up being about

group can tear up both the Christian rock and general market charts, tangible success has never been the group’s goal, but rather, to impact listeners and simply find contentment in their faith, as the lead single “Satisfied” so aptly summarizes. “It actually came after I hadn’t eaten in seven days,” Adam explains of the track’s incarnation. “I was fasting from food and just drinking water during my illness, slowly realizing that as long as we have Jesus, we will always be satisfied. It also was inspired by moments growing up, like when my dad lost his job but never once wavered from his belief that God would provide for our family. Instead of saying ‘woe is me’ during those situations, he said to me ‘Son, I am not the provider for this family, God is the provider for this family and we are going to be satisfied in Christ.’” As the guys get ready to release the new record to the world at large, they’re hoping to impart that very message upon listeners on all sides of the faith line, enhanced all the more by the brothers’ unabashed authenticity, vulnerability and sincerity. With its unwavering commitment to faith no matter how severe the trial, it’s no surprise the group named itself About A Mile, boldly referencing the suffering then triumph of a crucified and risen Christ. “We learned from a study that Jesus carried His cross About A Mile, and that’s where our band name comes from,” sums up Adam. “When we felt called to play music for the rest of our life, there was never any doubt that we would do it for His glory and treat our ministry like He did when carrying the cross. He carried a cross that we deserved to be nailed to About A Mile so he could die for us. We just want to serve others as best as we can and use all our strength and ability to honor God, carrying our cross as far as we possibly can.”

s the Bible just another book among the great literature of the world?
I believe the Bible is the Word of God; it is God’s way of making Himself known to humanity. The Bible is a book written and compiled by humans who were mysteriously led by the Spirit of the Living God. “All Scripture is inspired by God . . .” (2 Timothy 3:16) “For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” (2 Peter 1:21) My faith is informed by my understanding of God’s Word, but my thoughts need to be tested by centuries of Christian teaching. Yes! The Holy Spirit teaches us, but we can use some help from pastors, scholars, teachers, and perhaps a good book that covers topics you may have questions to regarding the Christian Faith.
Bible Doctrine is a great book for knowing about the “Essential Teachings of the Christian Faith.” Wayne Grudem is a great scholar who has taken the time to write a book that is not for the scholar only. This book is written in everyday language for anyone. Grudem divides his book into seven sections; the doctrines of:

Grudem does not just tell you what to believe on every teaching, he gives different points of view on certain topics. For example, on the teaching about the future, he presents the views of pre-millenialism, amillenialism, and post-millenialism (which will not be discussed now). The benefit of the book is that it is a resource to help you walk you through questions you may have about any of the topics listed above. Whether you are new to the faith, young, or old in the faith; this book is a great tool to sharpen your understanding about God and His Word. It is only a tool, because nothing can replace the God’s word.

It’s almost like she’s the favorite child. Should we spend more on the other kids to make things seem a little more fair? Julie Dear Julie, I don’t think so. In five or six years, it’ll be their turn and you guys will be spending that kind of money on them, too. That’s the way it is with teens. Here’s a question for you. When the 15-year-old is 23, and you’re buying prom dresses and all the other teenage stuff for the younger kids, are you going to turn around and give the older child extra money just to “even things up”?
