Fairly simple behaviour by individual members resulting in complex and irreductible collective behaviour” Theo Jansssen “The walls between art and engineering exist only in our minds.” Dom Hans Van der Laan “The plastic number” Enzo Mari “ Formalism encrusts form, and overlays it with another form, changing it creating something different. The only reason to create a project is to achieve a different result.” 6

/ Origami. Origami pattern practical research and visualisation. The process that was tested in this experimental visualisation deals with the use of a technique, highly patterned as origami, to experiment the learning process, development and appropriation of a concept (the crane). Furthermore taking the crane as a starting point from where to start exploring personal imagination and intuition through material and technique growing control.

/ Mediator I. From the wooden pin society towards a patterned organisational structral system . Video Mediator tools as temporal exoskeletons to acknowledge diverse layers of knowledge through practical experience and abstracted ideas. Being temporal is partly defined by the structural characteristics of a pattern, always nascent and decaying in a delicate self-sufficient balance. Creating designed lasting objects to tension the need of understanding for further reintegration and reappropriation through imagination and memory. 12

/ Mediator IV. A seed planting tool. Video From a organisational way of constructing and the ideal mediation in between man and nature through objects. A concept of mediator tool for seed planting, creating a starting point for patterned organisation. A tool to transmit different levels of information to the user, distances and positioning. Moreover a composed tool that through organising individualities achieve a concrete function and outcome, transmitting practical gardening knowledge and the subjacent inherent qualities of patterned flexible organisation. 18
