The road to health and safety is long and winding. Each one of us as an individual, as well as a professional, should work towards navigating a clear course of direction towards a safer future for employees, the public, and the environment. That’s what we believe at Summit Digitel and that is what our work reflects.

Leadership Speaks Dear Colleagues, As we step into 2022, I can only look back in awe at our growth, development, and our resilience in the last one year, even when faced with the toughest challenges. We should be proud of our conduct, our accomplishments, and our ability to strive on even in the face of external obstacles. While 2021 has seen Summit grow in leaps and bounds, the last quarter has been the icing on the cake. We have not only seen great success, but we have taken the time to focus on our work culture in order for us to build a workplace we are proud of. It is now time to move on to the next phase of our growth. Growth in all spheres is our priority this year and we must continue to meet the high standards we have set for ourselves. Every function is working to take the organization to the next level in our journey to become global industry leaders. This year will be about the consolidation of our work and our teams as we move ahead on this path. Our upcoming signing of the MSA with Airtel is a move in this direction. Airtel has been our valued partner for a while now, and the MSA will only

strengthen our bond for many years to come. Working with industry leaders like Airtel is a great learning experience for a young organization like us. It is the perfect space for hands-on learning in both technical and non-technical fields. I hope we can collaborate with many such experts over the years, to not only realize our own potential, but help every Indian to realize theirs. Keeping this in mind, our teams are working tirelessly to provide the best services to our customers and our stakeholders. Every team made significant progress in the last quarter, as reflected in this newsletter. Further, as you are aware, safety has been a priority for us from the beginning. Our HSSE policy is crucial for our operations, and I know that every team and every member strives to abide by it. I think the last two years have shown us how important it is to prioritize our own well-being and health, and through our HSSE endeavours, we hope to do that for the organization as a whole. I am especially delighted to see the steps taken to actively promote these initiatives and I’m sure our company will benefit from it in the long run. For an organization to grow to the levels that we aim for, it is vital that every member of the team is aligned with the vision, and are passionate about driving progress. The newsletter is a recognition of individual contributions, and updates from each team that we might have missed in our daily activities. It is a great opportunity to look back on the last three months, sharing achievements and struggles, in order to learn, grow, and be inspired by each other. I’m sure that the new year, and all the years to come, will see a dedicated and passionate team at Summit Digitel, living by our core values, and working together to achieve our vision to Share Happiness by Enabling Connections.

Warm Regards,

Dhananjay Joshi MD & CEO, Summit Digitel

Leadership Speaks Dear Readers, My last few months at Summit Digitel have been a great learning experience for me. I have had the opportunity to witness the beginnings of what will surely be India’s next big growth story. 2022 promises to be full of new beginnings, and an end to the many challenges that 2021 threw at us. However, I must commend each and every one of you who persevered to create an impact in the last year. Your admirable strength inspired me every day to carry on with our work. Compliance with regulations is the cornerstone in making sure an organization is successful, and the finance department has always abided by this mantra. With this in mind, we published the half-yearly financial report this quarter, in compliance with the new SEBI regulations.

I am proud to say that in our very short journey, we have already received 3 AAA ratings from reputed agencies. The upcoming year will be a critical one for us at Summit Digitel. Our start has been amazing but it is now time to consolidate learnings and start building on our foundation for long-term success. For this, every individual must step up and abide by Summit’s core values of Safety, Respect, Entrepreneurial Mindset, and Excellence. With the potential I see around me and our commitment to excellence, I am sure nothing can stop us from reaching great heights.

Our focus has also been on accreditation from recognized sources, to build our credibility.

Warm Regards,

Dinesh Jain CFO, Summit Digitel

Risk and Compliance Risk Functions All the functions under the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) office such as Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE), Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, Site Compliance, Insurance and Enterprise Risk Management, are commonly referred to as Risk Functions. Here are some interesting highlights.

HSSE Health, Safety, Security, and the Environment (HSSE) is a core value and key focus area at Summit Digitel, and the principles governed by these areas dictate all our actions. As part of our commitment towards HSSE, the Summit Safety Program (SSP) was launched in December 2021. SSP is a program designed to assist employees in understanding the safety risks associated with their roles and preparing them to mitigate them. In this program, Summit employees will learn about the HSSE risks associated with their role; will be trained, assessed, and certified to work safely while performing their duties. Certain key roles will have their HSSE competence enhanced by advanced training and certification under the SSP. Additionally, we have developed and implemented a Safety Scorecard across Summit with the intent to objectively assess and compare HSSE performance within circles and regions and to act on lagging and leading areas, in a timely manner, thus driving HSSE performance proactively. In addition to the tool box trainings been conducted on our sites at the end of each inspection, we have also held several HSSE training sessions for our employees to learn more about HSSE requirements and how to follow them.

Compliance As part of our compliance initiatives, we have implemented a Compliance Tool (based on the enForce Plus platform from PwC). The tool outlines the entire compliance-related checklist of all departments and provides a consolidated compliance dashboard to track, comply, mitigate, and report the compliance status report that is published monthly. At present, the regulatory requirements for Finance, Taxation, Human Resources, Administration, and Secretariat functions have been mapped into the tool. The individuals responsible update the compliances required as per the checklist and the reviewers are responsible for verifying that the regulations are complied with.

Risk and Compliance ABC Policies and Practices For a company-wide culture of compliance, we track our compliances vis a vis our other policies such as the Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), Whistle-blower, and the Gift and Entertainment policies in order to help implement the company-wide risk and compliance policies. Furthermore, Summit has an ethics hotline number for anyone to report any suspected wrongdoing or ABC violations. All complaints are investigated by an independent organization anonymously and report submitted to Brookfield and Summit Management.

Audit and ERM A tracker has been developed by the Internal Audit team to track all management actions to address any Internal Audit findings. This tracker is commonly referred to as Open Audit Observation (OAO). It is a spreadsheet-based tool designed to track and monitor that all audit findings and process improvements identified during Internal Audits are being addressed by responsible process owners to mitigate the risk identified by the findings. After every audit assignment or internal management review, the tracker is updated with the audit findings, agreed-upon management actions, responsibility, and target dates. As part of this process, a confirmation is also received from the respective process owners, along with appropriate evidence proving the implementation of management actions addressing the audit findings. A summary dashboard and updated OAO tracker are shared with the process owners and management committee every month. The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function, apart from assessment and tracking the enterprise level risks also conducted the risk assessment for Catastrophic and Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) risks in line with Brookfield’s guidelines. The risk assessment was conducted with involvement of the relevant functional management, following the approach of

Identify

Assess & Evaluate

Manage & Mitigate

Monitor & Report

The assessment helped us to holistically look at the inherent level of the risks, assess the current mitigation plans and change in risk level, identify gaps and future mitigation plans with an objective of reducing the risk severity to an acceptable level as per guidelines.

Site Compliance Mapping and Auditing The successful implementation of IT-Data Mart has already facilitated the flow of site compliance documents for the purpose of auditing. Based on the compliance applicability of the respective circles, we have mapped the relevant tower policies and statutory compliances related to Tower, Power, and Space. We have audited 299 sites before the initiation of IT-Data Mart. Now, we have implemented a digital audit form through a Microsoft team to identify and standardize audit observation, reduce errors, and suggest respective risk mitigation plans. The function is also collaborating with various internal and external audit agencies to provide comfort to management. 4

Sales The Sales teams across our circles have done a commendable job, even in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic. They have worked together to achieve incredible results. Some of the highlights of this quarter include the partnership with Airtel and the celebrations with Airtel across circles. The collaboration with Airtel has been extremely rewarding and it has provided the perfect opportunity for knowledge sharing and discussions. We also received our highest SR this quarter - 3632. We saw the highest SO received – 1405, and highest RFAI – 912. We welcomed the new CEO of Airtel UPW and celebrated over 60 RFS together.

In Tamil Nadu, 100 sites were ready for installation and Karnataka and Kerala circles had a birthday celebration and even welcomed a new CTO.

We take steps to ensure that our employees receive a comprehensive training program that will enhance their knowledge of the industry and enable them to make informed choices. In order to achieve this, we held two-day training sessions with our entire SMC team providing a comprehensive overview of the telecom industry. This two-day training was extremely informative as well as engaging to all participants, regardless of whether they worked in the telecom field or not. Every month, the Sales team identifies stars who show exemplary performance and continuous dedication to their roles. The Sales stars of the month for October were Neeraj, Vipin and Chetan, while November saw Murali, Naresh, and Ramesh shine.

Marketing and Communications The fantastic work being done by the different functions at Summit Digitel all find expression through the efforts of our MarComm team. Through several initiatives, the MarComm team has aimed to share our achievements and our learnings both internally, within the organization and with our partners, and externally to a larger audience. As we stepped into our second year as an organisation, we started consolidating our position within the industry and building on our solid start. Due to this, our management teams and leaders have been invited on various platforms to share their views on industry-related topics. There has also been great interest in our work and growth. Thus, leadership positioning has become crucial for us. The MarComm team has ensured that these events and interviews run smoothly. An article by Dhananjay Joshi was published in the leading publication, Economic Times. The article which discussed the impact of the internet (especially mobile internet) in a post-pandemic world, was extremely well-received.

Dhananjay, Devesh, and Sachin participated in the prestigious TowerXchange Asia Meet Up conference. The MarComm team ensured the event went smoothly and amplified it on LinkedIn as well.

This quarter saw the commencement of the first-ever Brookfield Premier League, a cricket tournament for all operating companies. The MarComm team worked extensively with the organising committee, providing support in the departments of communication and visual design.

For internal communication, the MarComm team started the Tune into Telecom program to ensure all employees are up-to-date with industry news and are well-versed in telecom knowledge. They also support other departments (like HSSE, Compliance, Admin, HR, and Sales) to amplify communications.

Having Mr. Dhananjay Joshi represent Summit Digitel on CNBC awaaz and narrate his views on how 5G will change the landscape of telecommunications on “The Telecom Show: Zindagi Ki Nayi Dhadkan” was a point of pride for Summit Digitel.
