For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11
A NEWLY DESIGNED SPACE Veritas is standing on the brink of yet another opportunity to enlarge the possibilities of education for our students. Research tells us that learning environments matter. Well-designed spaces function as another teacher on campus by broadening students’ learning experiences. We are excited to share with you that our auditorium will be redesigned to become our new Foundation Hall for the purpose of enhancing everyday school activities. Through the reconfiguration of the auditorium space, we will capture the full 6,200 square feet to expand our opportunities in our largest campus building. Reimagining, redesigning, and remodeling the auditorium will expand the range of educational experiences for current and future Veritas students. Foundation Hall will provide: • A flexible space to meet and support learning activities • Expanded opportunities for movement and physical activity • The ability to allow for various seating configurations • Further support the curricular aims of school chapel • Continued curriculum integration, with an emphasis on the Arts • Enhanced support of social interaction and development • Expanded support of cognitive skills and development • Further technology integration • Continued emphasis on academic collaboration • Expanded campus event opportunities
VERITAS CHAPEL A Christian education is above all, the emphasis of communicating Christ and helping to form Christ in the lives of others. The old auditorium holds cherished memories for many Veritas students and families of chapel services, Fine Arts Nights, and graduations. Reflective of our commitment to instill Christian values and biblical literacy, our strategic plan calls for a newly imagined space that will give it new life and repurpose it for more engaging chapel services by its design.
THE ARTS AT VERITAS At Veritas, we believe the Arts are vital to a well-rounded education. Our auditorium has served as one of the central buildings on campus for exploring the Arts. The design of Foundation Hall will emphasize experiencing the Arts in a new and more powerful way.
“The arts are an essential element of education, just like reading, writing, and arithmetic...music, dance, painting, and theater are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishment. ~ William Bennett
CAMPUS EVENTS The newly designed space will allow us to accommodate large group meetings and various events. Specifically, annual events such as Family Day, History & Science Fair, and Fine Arts Night will take on new meaning with the flexibility to showcase our students’ works and their performances. Through the reconfiguration of the auditorium, we will fully utilize this space to expand opportunities in our largest campus building.
“We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us.” ~ Winston Churchill

AN INVITATION TO GIVE We are eager to see the vision for Foundation Hall become a reality. Renovating the auditorium into Foundation Hall has a cost of $300,000. Each year, our annual auction supports the improvement of specific projects to enhance our students’ experiences on campus. We have made considerable progress on our facilities in recent years from the expansion of classrooms in the Middle School Building, to the addition of The Green, and most recently the opening of the Raad Learning Center. This has been accomplished by the generosity of our families and friends of Veritas. Each project has broadened the range of our students’ learning experiences. As we embark upon transforming the auditorium into Foundation Hall, we are full of hope and enthusiasm about this newly designed space and what it will mean for each student. Of the projects we have completed in recent years, none will capture as much square footage on campus for multipurpose use as remodeling our auditorium. Foundation Hall’s impact will be felt immediately with Phase I scheduled to be complete by August 2020. As we approach Auction 2020, we are excited, yet again, by the potential that its success has for the vision of Foundation Hall. Our goal is to raise $150,000 this year to complete Phase I. After more than a decade of serving at Veritas, I think that one of the most beautiful characteristics of the Veritas community is the generosity shown each year in supporting our mission. I hope you will join us again in reaching our goal to make Foundation Hall a reality for our students.
