Founded in 1876 as a co-educational, college-preparatory boarding and day school, Vermont Academy has always been a leader in the field of education. Our 450-acre campus, nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains, is the ideal location to discover individual talents and develop the creative problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills needed for success in college and in life. Our students are active participants with generous spirits, always striving for their personal best as they support their peers to do the same. They are of solid character, respectful of themselves and others, with a strong work ethic and compassion for those around them, working interdependently in a thriving community.

SOMETIMES

THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT...

Kicking back in your dorm room with friends might be the perfect way to relax on an occasional Sunday afternoon. But if you’re looking for more, you’ve got options. Vermont’s Green Mountains offer some of the best mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding in the Northeast. We schedule several off-campus trips and on-campus activities each weekend and the entire community looks forward to our traditional annual events like Orientation, Mountain Day, Winter Carnival, Earth Day and Spring Fling. Our school is a close-knit community where 85% of our faculty live on campus with their families, so you could always check in with them for extra help on the weekend. Or...did we mention our on-campus lighted snow park?
