Many people use them as a time for enjoyment, to spend with family, and to eat great food—but they are also to pay tribute to an his torical figure or moment in our his tor y. Some holidays are even created to boos t their capital while others respect the vas t religions people practice all over the countr y. Here are some of the National Holidays that celebrate food this month!

National Ice Cream Day/ Month – July 19

National Ice Cream Month is celebrated during the month of July and National Ice Cream Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of this month. President Ronald Reagan declared National Ice Cream Month and Day in a 1984 proclamation for the holidays to be of law. So, for all month of July enjoy your favorite flavor at your local ice cream shops! National Fried Chicken Day – July 6

Fried Chicken is one of the most popular comfort foods that have brought many people enjoyment over the years. The original dish was invented by the Scottish in the 1700’s. With the enslavement of West African people in America, others were introduced to seasonings that enhanced and enriched the flavor of the battered favorite. With well-known restaurants and fast food chains such as Popeye’s and KFC already popularized their fried chicken recipes, here are some local restaurants who also sell great fried chicken meals with amazing sides: Timothy Dean, Carolina Kitchen Bar & Grill, Milk & Honey Café, and Kitchen Cray.

National Daquiri Day – July 19

Everyone needs a nice summer drink on a very hot day, and the beverage to solve that problem is—the daquiri. Originating from Cuba, daquiris have become a very popular drink that is served at most bars in restaurants across the nation. With various recreations of the drink, not only has it brought inventiveness to bars, happy hours and clubs, it has provided great memories between others.
