Bon, ça faisait un petit bout qu’on avait pas fait une entrevue avec un groupe de musique... Et bien ce mois-ci on se rattrape, et c’est Mr Jan, “The Boss”, qui s’y colle, en posant des questions à Urs (batteur) et Fabio (bass) du groupe suisse, TCR ou plus précisement, The Chocolate Rockets. Pour des raisons de facilité (=fainéantise) le texte qui suit (originalement en suisse allemand) est en anglais... Alors, à vos dictionnaires!
After the Tour together with the Canadian Danko Jones trough the Eastern Europe, what moments will remain? Urs: All the Shows were super, and Danko and his Band are just great! But the true remaining memory will be the night with the locals! There’s so much to find out and learn about foreign cultures when you just hang out and get drunk..!=) With who would you like to play on stage once? Fabio: Pussycat Dolls =) Urs: ..eventhough this would not have anything to do with musical interests.. Which was the best Club you ever played at? Urs: There are too many good Clubs, I can’t pick one out! Looking back you don’t think about the Club itself, rather the quality of the show you played there! We had a few of our best concerts in fucked-up Clubs, so.. Who would you like to see covering one of your songs? Fabio: It would have been nice to be on one of the American Recordings of Johnny Cash, but that isn’t possible anymore, so Rest in Peace Johnny! Urs: Daft Punk would be great for shure too..
What’s the Story behind the Stage-outfit? (Some Mix between Taxido and Clockwork Orange) Fabio: To show the crowd that there’s no way to Stop us as a Band! We against the World! Urs: And it looks very sexy!=) With which Song does the ultimate Mixtape begin? Fabio: A Song by David Hasselhof! What was your worst Gig, and why? Fabio: I can’t make out one - but there were a few we weren’t happy about for shure! There are multiple meanings to a bad show; it can be due to broken equipment, or it could be playing wrong.. As a Band we are looking for perfection, so we’re not easily pleased!
With such a typical Swiss Name, why don’t you parcipate at the EurovisonContest?=) Fabio: We wanted to sing a Duett together with Krokus, but they got afraid (chicken out), these Losers!=) Urs: I thought we gonna get dressed like Zombies and make some wannabe-dark Sound..=) Look back, how was the reaction to your DebutAlbum and the Music-video? Fabio: Just great!! Being honest, we didn’t expect such a warm and positive Feedback! When will we be listening to the new Album? Fabio: When it’s done! We hope to finish the Recording at the beginning of the New Year!
What would be your pick to have a night on the bar? Fabio: Lenny Kilmister (Motorhead)
Did you guys as a band ever got a unmoral Deal? Fabio: Unfortunatly not!
How did the great Cover of W.A.S.P. “I Wanna Be Somebody” become reality? Fabio: It was more by coincidence, in the Studio! Warren Croyle (Producer) made that suggestion. First we weren’t happy at all. We didn’t knew what do to with that Song. But somehow we worked on it and started to get into it and liked what came out! So we knew it had to be on the Album!
Who’s the most over-rated Star? Fabio & Urs: Pete Doherty!
Why did you Guys recorded your Album in L.A.? Urs: We wanted to record away from our normal, grey Day-toDay-Routine! Far away form Family & Friends makes the work as a team much more focused!
