Dowel Table Family MDT Barrel table

The robust metal base of the Barrel Table can integrate cable management for power and data — designed for communal working and dining. The larger double Barrel option provides a generous boardroom table, a front-of-house desk or a striking communal dining option.

The collection of Pedestal, Side, Coffee and Poseur tables are designed to compliment the wider Dowel Table Family. Suitable for multiple uses within hospitality and workplace environments, whether in a reception, lounge, breakout or dining space.

Dowel Table Family Mechanisms

Metal and Wooden Dowel The tables are precisely crafted using a simple steel or solid timber frame and tubular ‘dowel’ legs. The mechanical fixings used to connect the legs to the tabletop are expressed to add character and refined beauty to the finished piece.

The legs connect to the tabletop and frame using a purpose-made, hidden, metal bracket.

Tabletops, Legs and Frames Each tabletop can be made in either linoleum, laminate or wood veneer. The Metal Dowel leg and frame can be powdercoated to any of our standard metal finishes or Bespoke RAL colours. Sizing Available in a range of standard and bespoke sizes. Both the Metal and Wooden Dowel Tables are designed to ship flat-packed.

Dowel Table Family Accessories

Cable Management Our standard cable management system integrates cable trays, cut-out tabletop lids, and a power box or cable leg.

The standard privacy screen is offered in PET felt.

Lighting & Power Our Integrated Library Lights use LED bulbs, creating a warm and inviting light. Available with a single or doubled sided shade for individual or shared tabletops. The sheet metal shade reduces glare, spreading light across the table surface. Screens Desktop screens for privacy and dividing modular tables use our standard PET felt option. Also available in cork, timber, and a range of fabrics. Castors The Metal Dowel range comes with an option of lockable castors, ideal for adaptable office, education, and meeting spaces. Modesty panels Our standard modesty panels are made from perforated metal, powder-coated to match the table frame and legs.

The standard light fitting features a simple on/off switch alongside x2 power/ USB units.

We helped the Royal College of Art realise a social interior for their new flagship building in Battersea, London. A series of Metal Dowel and High Metal Tables were used throughout the Rausing Research and Innovation Studios to create meeting hubs and informal work and dining areas.

Faber’s new London headquarters ‘The Bindery’ is set within an Art Deco building that once, appropriately, housed a book binding business. The Metal Dowel Modular Table is specified throughout the four floors of the publishers open plan workspace.
