Bob Van Der Wende, owner, explains what contributes to his agency’s success.“We have been personally involved every day, every week, every month for the past 42 years. Our clients and associates know they can reach us to solve whatever issues are important to them.
“There is no question that our success is a direct result of the hard work, loyalty and compassion for our clients that our agents practice daily,” he avows. The role of an agent is multifaceted Van Der Wende observes. They need to be proficient at all types of marketing, social media, pricing, market analysis and client counseling. He quips, “The television version of real estate sales is very different than the life of a real estate agent.”
Keeping abreast of market trends has helped to keep the agency in the top rankings based on sales. “We have learned how to succeed in different types of markets and to be up to date on a weekly, if not daily, basis. You need to be ready to advise your buyer and seller how to position themselves and their properties to be successful in any market condition.”
The past two years have been what Van Der Wende describes as a fascinating time to be in the business. “Our agents are trained to handle the fast pace for home sales as it affects clients.” He credits the agency’s franchisor, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, for its marketing power that has allowed the agency to grow and offer clients and agents the best resources in the industry.
“Our firm has been singled out for superior customer service on a national level,” says Van Der Wende. “It comes down to doing the work and communicating with your clients on a day-to-day basis, handling all the details to make the process appear as easy as possible.”
