“Youname it, I’ll frame it—and I’ll help you find the perfect frame,” says custom framer and art graduate Dayana Moreno, owner of Mona Lisa Framing in Maplewood. At her 800-sq.-ft shop and studio, Moreno offers a multitude of framing materials, from woods, veneers, and gilded materials to colorful, patterned acrylics along with non-reflective museum glass and museum treatments. Styles include traditional, contemporary, and transitional frames.

Moreno has framed everything from oil and acrylic canvasses, etchings, and Tibetan mandalas to jerseys, flags, and board games—even shoes. “I work with the customer to determine what frame treatment will work best for the area of the house they are going to display their work in,” Moreno states. “And I choose the best materials to use to preserve the work.”

With 24 years of experience in framing, Moreno has built a loyal customer base and has received a great deal of praise. “Some people have been coming to me for many years for all their framing needs,” Moreno notes. Mona Lisa Framing hosts many repeat customers. “Customers also tell me my work is beautiful, and the best thing is, I enjoy doing it, so it’s a labor of love.” Next time you want to frame a precious keepsake, know that you can get it done with love that will last.

Livingston: The Seat of Creativity has taken it to the streets! Benches along South Livingston Avenue are adorned with works of art selected by the ACL. Passersby who witnessed the installation referred to the works they saw as an outdoor museum and many vowed to bring their children to view the benches.

There will be a reception open to the public on Thursday evening, June 8, 6:30-8:30pm at the Municipal Building, to view the original art on which the bench pictures are based. The pictures will be for sale. The photographs of the bench pictures will be auctioned at the close of the exhibit in late September or early October.
