NOW I SEE HER: A WOMAN'S JOURNEY TO BEING HER TRUE SELF Written by:

Dawn Lovell

As a new year begins, it brings with it, new hope and possibilities that seem to have been previously lost. Many have proclaimed the year 2020 to be their year of soaring, and though this may seem to be an exhilarating endeavor, there are many prerequisites to achieving this level of prominence. As women of God continue to ascend the ladder of influence both spiritually and in their secular lives, there is a demeanor and attributes that are necessary for them to soar to the high places God intends for them. In his infinite wisdom, God saw the necessity to create this wonderful and divine masterpiece called woman to reign with her partner in his dominion in the earth. Like the eagle, she exemplifies magnificence and grace, but for her to successfully fulfill this mission, a paradigm shift and transformative way of thinking, doing and being must be employed. Navigating the cosmos will require her to make adjustments that may cause conflicts, both internally and externally. Internally, because even though her spirit yearns for that high place, her own fears and insecurities will seek to boomerang her to the place of comfort that comes from the familiar.

DIVINE PURPOSE MAGAZINE Â |12

Externally, since everyone will not want her to ascend. She will therefore have to develop the courage and tenacity to persevere while being misunderstood, because inevitably, those close to her will inquire why she must leave them. Others may become jealous because of their own lack of courage, drive or unwillingness to sacrifice for their destiny. For her to soar like the eagle, she must forge ahead with an unshakeable faith in God and the vision he has birthed in her; using the storm of criticism as her thrust. Advancing into uncharted territory, a woman of God will discover she was born to soar. This discovery will propel her into new and exciting realms, where harrowing yet wonderful experiences await her. She will however be faced with decisions that without prayer and careful thought can derail her life and destiny. In this new place, she must become a student again; soaking in the guidance of The Holy Spirit and recognizing that some of the skills and principles learnt over time have now become obsolete. The journey will require her to retreat to the secret place to be refined and renewed. Here, she will receive divine instruction and her senses and spirit will be sharpened to discern what is of God and what is not. It will provide the clarity that is necessary to traverse the unique course set before her, lest she finds herself soaring off the path of her destiny.

As time progresses, she shall mature and spread her wings. Destiny relationships will be formed, as others like herself join her in flight, accepting the call to rise to their high places transforming their own lives and that of others they are called to influence. For indeed like the eagle, soaring shall be her portion.

“Like the eagle, she exemplifies magnificence and grace, but for her to successfully fulfill this mission, a paradigm shift and transformative way of thinking, doing and being must be employed."

...Multi Passionate For so long I was fearful about how to present ME to the world (ALL OF ME). I was ashamed of my past yet proud of how I had overcome. So for years after starting my business, I hid behind my laptop showing my style templates - what I deemed was the best of me. What I didn't realize then, was that the darkness I had overcome would not just be my light, but the light for so many others. After I shared what I considered the most shameful parts of me, requests poured in from women requesting phone conversations so they too could share their stories. Today I call myself a Life & Style Consultant but I'm most proud of being a Multi-Passionate, a woman with many layers, many passions, many gifts - some birthed from her own struggles and suffering. I have since written my first book and working on a second. I have been honored to speak at Womens' Conferences and Retreats. I have been blessed to dress up and encourage women at homeless shelters. I've met the OLD ME in so many of these women - some of them with stories so very similar to mine that it brings me to tears. My mission is to utilize every gift I have been given, to help as many people as I encounter and to live a life by example. My daily prayer is that my actions will change more lives than my words ever will and to honor my God Jehovah everyday.

...An Overcomer Truth is I failed many times. Some of which were public and humiliating. I doubted that I could ever go the Entrepreneur route again. Instead of giving up, I took the lessons I learned from these failures and created my own system. This system has taught how to become great at problem solving, a Master Manifestor and an excellent Idea Executioner. I have learned how to make much with very little and preach building a business around the lifestyle you want instead of a business that dictates your lifestyle.

FINDING PURPOSE IN BUSINESS

by Dana Hayes-Burke Vision Strategist, Life Coach & Motivational Speaker

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you and I called you to be….” (Jeremiah 1:5) I remember when God spoke to me from this scripture. I remember the pause at the words “to be” because it was a defining pause. It was a pause that would accelerate my journey to alignment – the alignment of what I was built for with what I was built with. This was the start of my walking more boldly into my purpose and business in one. I understand that for many Christians the idea of business and purpose coming together may seem contradictory at the least and even blasphemous at the most. It is because of this mindset that many of us feel that we must choose one or the otherwhen in fact, you might be one of the persons that God designed to execute your purpose through business. The constant separation of the spiritual and secular in our mindset results in us living very dichotomous lifestyles- we have secular

days and spiritual days, we have secular activities and spiritual activities, we have secular lives and spiritual lives; but for the Christian, God’s intention is that we live one life and to live that one life abundantly. Abundant and purposeful living is found in tapping into the things that God internally wired us to do. For some, that purpose is found as a teacher, for some a pastor, for another a singer or volunteer and for some of us, purposeful and abundant living is found as a business owner. In that business, you experience alignment of business and purpose because the goal of both is the same- to solve a problem and to make the world better. This brings me back to the scripture that set me on the journey to alignment – “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you and I called you to be….”. How do you now if you are one of those persons for whom business and purpose aligns?

To answer this, let me first explain what I believe purpose is. It’s important to explain this because it’s such a buzz word that seems to be floating around at high intensity, right?!

“Abundant and purposeful living is found in tapping into the things that God internally wired us to do..” DIVINE PURPOSE MAGAZINE |21

Well here is my definition of purpose as I understand it: Purpose is the value that you are meant to add to the world through your gifts, talents and abilities and the internal wiring of how you think and operate. (That’s a DHB original quote *smile*). So, what does that mean? What does this look like in real life? It looks like using the gifts to create something that has never been created before (Like Steve Jobs and Apple). It looks like adding value in a place where a clear gap exists (like John Maxwell when he started teaching leadership). It looks like obtaining the knowledge and experience to create that idea that has never left your heart. Can a person who is not a Christian find purpose? Absolutely but that purpose is not fully experienced unless it is connected to God’s intentions for it. Here are three (3) signals that you may be one of those persons who is called to have a purpose business: 1. You possess a particular gift or talent that you were never received training for but can do exceptionally well. You feel most alive when you use this gift or talent to create and to solve problems around you, but your current job doesn’t allow you to do this. 2. You have desired to own your own business even before you wanted to pursue whatever career or path you took. A business was a deep-seated desire that has never left you. (you are reading this right now and saying “yes, this is me”). 3. If you had a choice between being the CEO of someone else’s company or the owner of your own business, knowing that the latter would be extremely difficult, you would choose the latter every time. If you answered "yes" to the above questions, this is may be a signal that your purpose may be found in your business. It’s time to “Soar” into what you are called to do. It’s time to push past your fears and pursue the business that’s in your heart.

ACCORDING TO LEAH... WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A WOMAN

SOARING ON PURPOSE An Interview with Leah Bourne By Vicki L. Olton

Divine Purpose Magazine sat with Leah Bourne to find out first-hand what it really looks like for LEAH, as a woman who soars on the wings of purpose with God. It was truly a delightful time as she shared her experiences; ups and downs, which have molded her over the years. Leah has only just scratched the surface of her purpose and is ready to walk through any and every door that God opens for her in 2020 and beyond. WHO IS LEAH? Leah is a wife, teacher, investor and entrepreneur. She is deeply passionate about education and the total development of her students. Leah’s first teaching experience took place in Colombia where she taught English as a second language for almost 1 year. Since then, she has started her business, The Spanish Academy, became a trained teacher at Erdiston Teachers’ Training College in Barbados and has been teaching every since. Leah is also one of the forerunners of The Takeover Inc., a financial education and investment group, teaching the importance of a healthy relationship with money in Barbados for the past two years. She is driven by a desire to see people dominate their finances and help people reach a place where they never have to worry about money. Leah loves all that does because she knows it’s a part of God’s purpose for her life.

BOLD / UNAPOLOGETIC / GOD-FOCUSED / LIMITLESS / RISK TAKING DIVINE PURPOSE MAGAZINE |25

she is bold ACCORDING TO LEAH... WHAT DOES THE WOMAN SOARING ON PURPOSE LOOKS LIKE? She is a woman who has made up in her mind that she will do all that she has been called to do in a specific season. She is going after it unapologetically and she is going to do it with the intention of achieving every single goal that she sets for herself. WHAT DOES "SHE IS GOING AFTER IT UNAPOLOGETICALLY" REALLY MEAN? It just means that when I am doing something and it doesn’t look cute to the public, I am going to do it regardless because I have had conversations with God about what it is that I am supposed to do. Yes, I take into consideration the advice of people who I value because having a group of people around me that are cheering me on and have my best interest at heart is important, but as ugly as it may look to others, you have to do it without apology because God has told you to do it.

she is unapologetic Leah Bourne being interviewed by Vicki L. Olton, Editor-In-Chief

YOU ARE KNOWN AS ONE WHO DOES NOT TO SETTLE, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I don’t allow my personality to inhibit my purpose.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE LESSONS YOU HAVE LEARNED FROM YOUR CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD?

Soaring in purpose involves allowing myself to develop in the process and knowing that I have to change.

Listening to God first and making sure that I have clearly heard His voice before doing anything else.

I am naturally an introvert (smiles) so naturally I don't want to be at the front of the room, I don’t want to be in front of the crowd, I don’t want to be seen. Naturally I want to do things from behind the curtains but if I am not settling it means that I have to speak in front of the crowd with boldness and confidence.

God’s voice is not only heard in my quiet time, but it is also heard during conversations with my husband and through speakers delivering various sermon. It is important to make sure that I have confirmation and clarity before I move forward. When walking on purpose you will be put in front of a crowd and in the spotlight so you have to make sure that what you are saying is of God so that it is good food for others.

Words like “this is who I am so deal with me” does not come out of my mouth because I know that my purpose requires change and it involves development.

she is God-focused

DIVINE PURPOSE MAGAZINE |26

she does not settle AS WOMEN, HOW CAN WE SOAR PAST OUR COMFORT ZONES? Firstly, we need to recognize that when we are pursuing and walking in purpose that we have to get uncomfortable. God will meet us where we are to pull us out into very uncomfortable situations. Every day I have to do something that is uncomfortable so that it becomes my new level of comfort and then God pulls me to another level. For that woman who feels like she needs to remain in that comfortable place, you really have to ask yourself 1. if this is all that you want to do in life and stay in the same position or 2. if you want to impact another woman who has been in the same position as you. In order to impact others you have to get uncomfortable and do things that you don’t consider to be part of your personality. Often times with your purpose God will reveal new things about your identity and more about who you really are. It is going to be strange and uncomfortable, but believe me it will be a good experience in the long run (smiles).

WHAT HAS YOUR JOURNEY OF PURPOSE LOOKED LIKE OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS, WHERE YOU ARE NOW A TEACHER AND AN INVESTOR? My journey from 10 years ago to this point has been frequent submission to given opportunities. I recognized that God uses opportunities as a way for Him to reveal your purpose. What has brought me here is simply my ability to take opportunities that God placed before me and use them to develop and grow as an individual. When I was at the university I did an internship at a financial institution and I see this as an opportunity that God used to show me that type of job was not part of my purpose. I later went on to teach English as a second language in Columbia and it was there I realized that teaching is what I really love. I get a fire and passion from teaching and I realized it from the opportunity that God gave me.

she sees no limits, no boundaries

When I took the opportunity to be an investor, the experience also showed me that I really like to trade and to show persons how to trade. With this opportunity I get to talk, share, speak and impact the lives of others.

I then went on to study at the Erdiston Teaching College here in Barbados. I believed that teaching was my gift but then it was my responsibility to nurture my gift and develop the skill.

WHAT ARE THE BUSINESSES THAT YOU OWN?

The FOREX trading business just simply shows persons how to develop the skill of trading. There are so many people around the world who struggle financially and with this opportunity I built the business.

Shortly after returning to Barbados from Columbia I started my business called The Spanish Academy, where I teach Spanish to children from as young as 6 years old and to adults. When I started that business I had a lot of challenges because they were things I didn’t know and there were a lot of things I had to learn. In the beginning I wanted to go to different schools and create Spanish clubs but that didn’t work out. I then decided to do group sessions but I couldn’t find a location where I could host them. Following that I decided to take my sister’s small white board and book private Spanish lessons where I would go to person's homes to give them classes. The business started to grow and the following year I had my first Spanish summer camp which attracted about 30 students. Out of that experience I learned so much about myself as a teacher. It was then I realized that I had the raw teaching skills but I now had to become a trained teacher and master the skill associated with trained teaching.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS? Everyone knows the saying, “new levels bring new devils”, but I also believe that new levels bring new glory and new levels bring new intimacy with God. From the place of being more intimate with God it becomes natural to want to live a more excellent life for Him and do the things that He is giving you to do at the best of your ability. It then becomes easier for you to desire improvement. Developing your skill can be very inexpensive. It may just be the purchase of a book or simply watching YouTube videos on personal development. It is a decision you have to make when you tell yourself, “I will not settle with what I currently have and I have to develop ways to take myself to higher heights”.

DIVINE PURPOSE MAGAZINE |27

HOW HAS FOREX TRADING CHANGED YOUR LIFE AND HELPED YOU TO GET CLOSER TO REACHING YOUR GOALS AND PURPOSE? In trading you learn how to manage your emotions and this is something that is necessary for many areas of my life; my marriage, ministry and more. FOREX also opened up an avenue where the generational curses of poverty were broken over my family’s life. It afforded me the opportunity to have another stream of income, the opportunity to dominate money and live debt free. It was Godbreathed and with wealth we are able to impact churches, construct buildings and help the poor.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MISTAKES MADE AND WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO OTHER WOMEN ? When I started to pursue my purpose and realized that there were so many things that God wanted me to do, I wanted to make sure everything was done well, but I did not include God. I quickly learned that I had to do things well, but with God. When God wasn't in the process everything was sloppy and stressful but when I began to include God ideas came frequently and things got better. I use to want to do everything on my own but I recognized that I needed to ask for help and that I did not need to do everything all by myself.

leah Soars

WHAT IS YOUR MINISTRY? I am in the process of developing my ministry within the four walls of the church. I am on the worship team at my church and I get a deep sense of fulfillment from being able to pour my heart out whether on stage or not. It is all about God’s glory. I am still in the process of discovering Leah.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE FOR LEAH AS SHE CONTINUES TO SEEK TO DISCOVER HER UNIQUENESS IN 2020 AND BEYOND? I have not discovered all of Leah. I have goals but I leave room for God to move and for things to happen unexpectedly because we can often have plans and God ends up laughing at us because He knows that He has something totally different in mind for us (smiles).

HEALTH & WELLNESS

CALLED TO BE FIT IN MIND, BODY & SPIRIT by Sharae Jenkins, MBA, FNS

After reading the well-known book “Purpose Driven Life” by Pastor Rick Warren, I was inspired to learn more about why I was here. I know Discipleship is our first purpose as Believers. But what about beyond that? What was I, Sharae, put on this earth to do? What is something that only I can uniquely contribute? While the world would encourage us to pursue money, we can make the greatest impact when we pursue our passions. Our passions are never random. Our passions are those things that excite us and make us soar!

My passion for health and wellness, after experiencing my own 60-pound weight-loss, ultimately led me to the purpose God intended for my life. While my goal was initially weight loss, I recently realized how God desires for us to be healthy as a whole person in mind, body, and spirit. He gives us instruction for this in His Word: Mind: Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will”

Body: 1 Corinthians 6:19 – “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own” Spirit: 2 Corinthians 4:16 – “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day” We can strengthen our mind through daily practices such as journaling, reciting positive affirmations, praying, meditating and memorizing scriptures. I know I sometimes struggle with worry, fear, lack of confidence and doubt. But we become stronger in these areas when we commit to renewing our minds daily and challenging those false narratives that are not of God. Second, we can honor God through our food choices. After all, this in the vessel in which He dwells. So don’t we want this vessel to look and feel vibrant? We can adopt better eating habits by cooking more at home and eating more fruit, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, nuts and seeds, beans and legumes. No, we don’t have to make changes overnight, but overtime we should be steadily creating better habits that will help us to be healthy enough to pursue God’s purpose and also encourage others to live healthier. Lastly, we have to strengthen our physical bodies so we can run this race He has called us to, with endurance. Don’t be afraid to start simple and start small. Make an initial goal to work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes even if it’s just a walk. It’s a start! And think of it like this: isn’t it a blessing to have a body that moves? There are people who wish they were healthy enough to be more physically active! Let’s commit to reclaiming our temples as a whole in 2020 so we can truly soar! HEALTH & WELLNESS

CATCHING

MY BEAUTY IDOL AND FINDING MY PURPOSE By Heather Creekmore

Entering the Chinese restaurant at the local strip mall scared me as a child. There were colorful plaster cats and shiny gold statues of a fat, bald guy plastered all over the entrance. I walked by them quickly, trying not to look. I knew the Ten Commandments. I remembered how mad God got when people worshipped images. I’d never be an idolator.

They did not.

Or, so I thought.

Beauty was not just my burden, beauty was my idol. I knew if I could ever reach my beauty goals—I would be happy. I’d find love. I’d find meaning. I didn't set out to make beauty an idol. Her majesty usurped the throne without spelling out revealing she planned a coup. Like a spider inviting me into a web, she beckoned me, "Become more beautiful, and find all that you desire. . ."

As I battled negative body image through my teens and twenties, my Christian faith never seemed to have good answers for my struggle. Sometimes women told me I was being silly to worry about my appearance. Many looked as if they didn't own a mirror, and I found them difficult to respect. Their position seemed rather extreme. Other women chanted clichés like, "It's what's on the inside that counts." But, as I watched them race each other to the gym, try every fad diet, and chat about who had "put on weight" I questioned the integrity of their message. If only the contents of the package matter, then why did they put so much time and effort into the wrapping? Pep talks designed to motivate awkward teens or moms feeling frumpy touted, "You are enough! You are fearfully and wonderfully made." I liked the affirmation that I was okay. Surely they would help me overcome the barrage of thoughts about my worthlessness.

In fact, each of the pat answers Christian women gave me to help my body image fell flat. Like a dab of concealer on a huge pimple, they could mask the problem a little—but they could not make it go away. And, now I know why.

I believed her. I made her the top resolution on my list each December 31. I gave her priority billing on my daily and weekly calendars. I supported her financially, contributing regularly at my local mall, beauty salon, nail salon, and of course, through my monthly gym membership. I read magazines and watched shows that showed me how wonderful my life would be once I made her mine. Beauty would save me. If only I could catch her.

DIVINE PURPOSE MAGAZINE |32

But that's the tricky thing about idols, they don't let you catch them. They keep you hooked, always needing a little more, so you don't lose interest. They don't satisfy, lest they lose you. Isn't it amazing how Jesus is just the opposite? How he allows us to seek and find him (Matthew 7:7).

If we acknowledge that body image issues are rooted in sin, we have hope for taming the beauty beast. As 1 John 1:9 says, " If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." The root of our image issues can be yanked out and our gracious Heavenly Father will let us go free.

No one wants to hear that she is an idolator. Though difficult to swallow, identifying how the beauty beast morphs into a body image idol should be encouraging news for a Christ-following woman. The reason? It gives us a way out. Allow me to explain. If body image is an internal issue, a wrestling match with the beast of beauty that exists in our head and can't be won, then a woman battling negative body image has no real hope for freedom. Her cure cannot be found in changing her appearance, nor does she have hope of sustaining a definitive win over beauty in her head. She’ll always battle. And, though she may experience occasional triumph, remaining victorious proves impossible. Whereas, if body image is understood as an idolatry issue, this same woman can find freedom through defeating this idol and spiritually breaking the chains it uses to hold her. She can confess to God the ways the idol has lured her and caused her to stray from the truth. She can acknowledge the ways that she has pursued beauty, obliged herself to its wishes, and given it first place in her life. Through repentance, she can find forgiveness.

Instead of chasing a purpose as elusive as “getting hotter” or “looking good in swimsuit,” when I see and confess my idolatry, I become truly free to pursue God’s purpose for my life. I am able to see how he uniquely designed me to fulfill this purpose, and how true contentment only comes when I’m being used as his vessel.

Overcoming Abortion By Elder Toni D. Goodlow

There was one thing that enabled me to take flight and spiral upwards above the shame, guilt, and torment of having an abortion.

Two weeks pregnant, scared, confused, angry, ashamed, unemployed, and selfish I decided the only way to remedy the problem was to have an abortion.

I was 19 years old, immature, and definitely not financially or mentally ready to care for a child. I was still a child myself. Honesty, I did not want children nor did I want to be a single, unwed teenage mother.

Four weeks later, I was on my way to the Clinic to terminate the pregnancy. As we approached the clinic, Pro-Life protestors yelled at us from on both sides of the streets leading up to the front door. I cried uncontrollably while walking the green mile to the entry of the door as people held up photos of aborted babies and shouted “Jesus loves you”.

I did not consider the consequences of having unprotected sex with my boyfriend at the time because we were young and “having fun”.

That is where the seeds of guilt and shame took root due to my decision to kill an innocent human being. After the pregnancy was terminated and sat in the recovery room, I felt empty on the inside. I asked myself if I would emotionally recover or if God would ever forgive me for this heinous crime committed. When I returned home later that morning, I went to my room, sat on the bed, and talked to the Abba about the abortion.

"The enemy was no longer authorized to harass, heckle, torture, or accuse me in that area of my life." I sincerely asked for His forgiveness and asked that He would not allow the enemy to torment me with nightmares or constant reminders of my aborted child. Instantly He forgave my sins and to this day, Abba honored my request by not allowing me to experience torment. The enemy was no longer authorized to harass, heckle, torture, or accuse me in that area of my life. How did I soar by overcoming the guilt and shame of having an abortion you ask? It was love that lifted me. When nothing else could help, the perfect love of God that casts out all fear according to 1 John 4:18 gave me the ability to soar above guilt and shame. His love thrusted and propelled me to take off by removing the residue of my past stuck to my feathers like oil from the Gulf of Mexico. He made me clean by washing away with the blood of Jesus, every weight of sin with I carried making it impossible to fly.

Abortion is often the solution to an unwanted pregnancy, but really and truly, it is a sick trick of the devil, designed to imprison lives mentally, emotionally and spiritually. If you had an abortion, you were the victim of one of the devil’s greatest attempts to, oppress, control and destroy the lives of women. Abortion is sin and sin is of the devil. In THE TRUTH ABOUT ABORTION you will see that once the devil has been given access to your life through sin, you automatically grant him permission to hinder your life and subsequently, the lives of your generations to come, in ways that you have never imagined. THE TRUTH ABOUT ABORTION is also a useful resource for the partner, parent, friend or family member who pressured someone into having an abortion. It reveals the ways in which the enemy has used all persons involved, including the doctor who performed the abortion, as an accessory to murder. In THE TRUTH ABOUT ABORTION, Jesus Christ is therefore presented as the solution to the problem. Jesus Christ is the only one who can rescue us from this trap of the enemy. Only Jesus Christ can deliver us all from the murder charge and its effects!

WHO IS DEBORAH "DEBEEREX" REX? Debeerex is a Jesus lover, passionate about living life to the fullest and fulfilling purpose. She is from Rivers state in Nigeria, last child and only girl of three children. She’s the Convener of Daughters of the Altar, the current president of King's Daughters Int’l, a passionate child A N D R minstrel EA STO NE evangelist, with ‘Caleb Rex & the Nu generation’ and an ordained minister with Revelation Ministries

1

Debeerex is a graduate of Biochemistry from Covenant University and also holds an MBA, diploma in ministerial theology and a number of certifications. More than her degree, she is a passionate writer which she gives expression to on her social media platforms and her blog www.debeerex.com. She's the author of the best seller "I Died On A Friday" and her yet to be published work "I'm Not Sorry”, set to be released in June, 2020. Because of her love for writing she founded her company Debeerex Ready Writers Academy with writing clubs in schools. She's also a conference speaker with several speaking engagements to her credit including the annual Covenant University's Literary Conference, The Annual Release of Hadassah Conference and BOOST. She's the manager at Prayer Palace and Family Resort and Administrator/ Counselor at Children of Promise Christian Schools, currently studying for her M.Ed. Debeerex is desperate to see young men and women break out from their shells, low selfesteem, and limitations to be all they can be under God, she's irritated by timidity and believes no one should allow the devil make them hide under their shells. She believes in Isaiah 60:1 that says "Arise and shine for thy light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!" Christians are meant to shine, no room for hiding!

WHAT MAKES DEBEEREX UNIQUE? The Uniqueness of Debeerex is simply the assignment on her life. And that is the uniqueness of everyone, the reason we are on this earth.

DID YOU ALWAYS HAVE A DREAM TO BE A WRITER? Growing up I was a very confused girl, from wanting to be a doctor, to an accountant to basically anything that sounded interesting at the time. My response to the career question depended on my mood and who was asking (laughs). Writing was not a dream to me at a young age, I mean, there was literally no option like writing at the time, writing was a hobby, I wrote my feelings, I wrote stories, I wrote prayers, I literally wrote down everything! It wasn’t until I graduated from the university, still feeling unsatisfied, that The Holy Spirit drew my attention to the gift of writing He placed in me.

WHAT MAKES DEBEEREX UNIQUE? I always say purpose discovered me! (laughs). I wasn’t even looking in the direction of what I currently do when it grabbed me. Purpose found me when I was at my breaking point with low selfesteem and confusion. As an ardent loner, I would always wonder to myself if there was a reason God placed me on earth. A graduate of Biochemistry, Covenant University, at age 19, I knew that wasn’t the path for me. It wasn’t until I gave up trying to figure out my life by myself and asked The Holy Spirit to prove to me that I am here for a reason, that He opened my eyes, my heart and my mind to what had been locked up inside me for years, Words. I firmly believe that God doesn’t show anyone everything about their future or destiny all at once. So I’d say I am still un-wrapping this gift called purpose. Fulfilling purpose is simply obeying todays instruction, every day.

TELL US ABOUT DEBEEREX AS THE MINISTER? I see everything I do as ministry, so this would mean speaking of everything I do (laughs). Well, I am an evangelist, although this doesn't get out of the bag often, it’s more of a responsibility, than a title, I just like to be called Debeerex. My most joyful moments are when I hear testimonies of lives changed through the various ministries God has birthed through me. I am passionate about the children’s ministry. The young women’s ministry as well is one I don’t take lightly, I love to inspire, teach and counsel them in areas concerning self-actualisation, purpose, confidence, relationships and balanced living.

WHAT CAN YOU SAY TO A YOUNG AND UPCOMING WRITER? You don’t have time to waste!!! I feel many young people are wrapped up in the dreadful sting of procrastination. I agree that you can turn a new leaf at any age, but time is the only irrecoverable asset. Just begin, in your small groups, on your social media pages, as much as you can, just write. Figure out the real reason why you are hesitating, it could be fear, low self-esteem, opinions of others, laziness, indiscipline, etc. Knowledge of the source of the problem will increase your ability to fight it. Fear and timidity are two poisons that can leave you in regret for a long time. Failure is better than regret, start today.

HOW DID YOU BECOME AN AUTHOR OF FICTION AND HOW HAS GOD BEEN USING THIS GIFT? ( I loved literature growing up as a teenager, I would read everything that had a story in it. I fell in love with the likes of Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury, Mrs Ogunyinka, etc, these were female Christian authors who wrote brilliant novels with valuable lessons. In 2012, I remember writing in one of my journals that I want to write a book, that will be both excellently written and still transform lives.

1

ANDREA STONE

Since then, the entire mission of my writing ministry was to package the truth in a form that anybody would want to read. I tested the waters on my social media pages before launching fully into writing a book. And this has been the testimony of the book “I Died on a Friday”, readers worldwide have attested to the fact that as soon as you pick it up, you wouldn’t desire to put it down, suspense, humour, the build-up of characters and moments. Then the best part is the effect at the end! I really can’t explain it, but I’d just summarize the effect of it with what a reader told me, she said “Debeerex, I felt The Holy Spirit right in my room and I couldn’t stop crying.” Jesus explained kingdom mysteries with parables, and as He ascended to heaven, He said we should do much more. I am determined to do exactly that.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE FROM DEBEEREX IN 2020 Oh wow! A lot of things are in the works and have already been started in the first quarter of the year. Expect more of Debeerex physically (laughs*), a lot of my followers only know my words, but I’d more physically available for them this year. I'm particularly excited about this one, The "I'm not sorry" movement has begun! And it would kick off fully with the release of the book “I'm Not Sorry” and the mega World I’m Not Sorry Day (WINS Day) in 2020. I’ll be going on a couple of tours within and outside my country Nigeria. ‘Daughters of the Altar’ is quickly expanding and spreading her borders, we hope to follow Gods leading in the expansion of her influence across nations in Africa and beyond.

As a passionate music minister, I am also excited about the concert coming up in June with ‘Caleb Rex and the Nu Generation’.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU OFFER TO WOMEN WHO ARE SEEKING TO SOAR ON PURPOSE FOR GOD?

So many other things to come in 2020 will be revealed as we go on, but it’s an active year! All those who follow me online and offline would be the first to get the news as they unfold (smiles*).

Be you! Know that your assignment is unique to you, it doesn’t have to look glamorous to be real. You can learn from people but you can't be them.

TELL US ABOUT THE READY WRITERS ACADEMY. The Debeerex Ready Writers Academy was born from the scripture in Psalm 45:1 “My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” Our values are Passion, Purpose, Excellence, Diligence, and Creativity. We are burdened with the vision of harnessing, polishing and propelling creativity and passion in young people to equip them for self-expression, thereby causing a change through the power of words. This is achieved through conferences, personal coaching, Ready Writers clubs in schools, booth camps, awards and competitions. Young people that seek to build or seek to learn and grow in this area of ministry can take the first step by subscribing to my email list through www.debeerex.com/readywriters. More information will be given to them through the platform. Anyone interested in the establishment of the club in your school or a school near you, you can send an email to readywritersorg@gmail.com.

Love God more than purpose and you can’t miss purpose. You know sometimes we get caught in trying to work for God that forget how to walk with God. God will rather have you than use you. Don’t dwell on your past mistakes, it’s a dead-end trap. Don't let anyone pressure you unnecessarily, be so busy with God that at the right time, He will interrupt your plans with the right man that will be an addition to your purpose and not a distraction.Everything you need to begin on your purpose journey is inside if you. If you are confused on what to do, be calm, take a close look at the things you love, the things you hate to see done wrongly. Walk tall, stay humble, and never apologize for choosing to do the right thing, popular does not mean correct.Don't let fear stop you, one of the over used lines is "So many people are already doing it, wha difference will mine make?" That's a lie, you are the difference to be made. The World is waiting earnestly for your manifestation. That being said, get a mentor, look for someone who's gone where you're headed and learn from them, read books, lots of books, pray, depend on the Holy Spirit for inspiration and be conscious that he can come in very diverse ways. For the writers, I know you want to bless hearts and inspire, but also be flexible in your writing, add a little humour and make your readers enjoy the ride. You’d be unstoppable!

It's funny when I think about my journey into

After getting a degree in Business, then attending Bible School, I didn’t think

tug on my heart to become an entrepreneur, there was an internal struggle. Honestly, even now sometimes, there is still a struggle but in the virtual world, there is an increased number of believers who have been bolder with their faith as they build successful businesses (For example, Chic-fil A, Hobby Lobby, Tyson Foods). Starting a business is hard but I personally believe that as believers, choosing to partner with God to build a business doesn’t make it easier but it does make it simpler. Think about it, the God we serve knows all things, He’s allwise plus He knows the end from the beginning so answering the call to build the kingdom through our entrepreneurial pursuit is an honor. Who is a Kingdom Entrepreneur? This is someone who has fully submitted and committed both their natural and supernatural gifts for the advancement of the Kingdom of God through the marketplace..-

Carla Cannon I believe there is a difference between a Christian Entrepreneur and an Entrepreneur who is a Christian. None is more inferior than the other, it’s simply how they choose to

As a Kingdompreneur, prayer is essential to success. It is through diligent prayer you’ll be able to hear what’s God desire for your business, share your concerns with Him and get the direction you need to implement strategies to make the business profitable. Understand that prayer is two-way. As you speak to the Lord and present your requests, be open to listen to what He is also saying. Always have a journal so you can keep a record of the vision that He will give to you as you communicate with Him. 2. Learn To Take Faith Steps

2 Corinthians 5:7 - “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Far too often, believers use prayer as a tool to procrastinate. Know that a major part of success is taking faith steps on what God has shared (that unction you get to do something). Remember, faith pleases God and clarity comes through action. It is through taking faith steps that you’ll be able to see God’s plans coming to fruition as you show forth your faith by your works.

4. Operate in excellence, not perfection

We’ve always heard the story of Daniel and how

we want everything to be perfect before we start or we stay stuck; but perfection is not God’s prerequisite…obedience is. So, while we want the products, programs or services we present to our customers to be the best, know that it doesn’t need to be perfect.
