Debeerex is desperate to see young men and women break out from their shells, low selfesteem, and limitations to be all they can be under God, she's irritated by timidity and believes no one should allow the devil make them hide under their shells. She believes in Isaiah 60:1 that says "Arise and shine for thy light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!" Christians are meant to shine, no room for hiding!
WHAT MAKES DEBEEREX UNIQUE? The Uniqueness of Debeerex is simply the assignment on her life. And that is the uniqueness of everyone, the reason we are on this earth.
DID YOU ALWAYS HAVE A DREAM TO BE A WRITER? Growing up I was a very confused girl, from wanting to be a doctor, to an accountant to basically anything that sounded interesting at the time. My response to the career question depended on my mood and who was asking (laughs). Writing was not a dream to me at a young age, I mean, there was literally no option like writing at the time, writing was a hobby, I wrote my feelings, I wrote stories, I wrote prayers, I literally wrote down everything! It wasn’t until I graduated from the university, still feeling unsatisfied, that The Holy Spirit drew my attention to the gift of writing He placed in me.
WHAT MAKES DEBEEREX UNIQUE? I always say purpose discovered me! (laughs). I wasn’t even looking in the direction of what I currently do when it grabbed me. Purpose found me when I was at my breaking point with low selfesteem and confusion. As an ardent loner, I would always wonder to myself if there was a reason God placed me on earth. A graduate of Biochemistry, Covenant University, at age 19, I knew that wasn’t the path for me. It wasn’t until I gave up trying to figure out my life by myself and asked The Holy Spirit to prove to me that I am here for a reason, that He opened my eyes, my heart and my mind to what had been locked up inside me for years, Words. I firmly believe that God doesn’t show anyone everything about their future or destiny all at once. So I’d say I am still un-wrapping this gift called purpose. Fulfilling purpose is simply obeying todays instruction, every day.
TELL US ABOUT DEBEEREX AS THE MINISTER? I see everything I do as ministry, so this would mean speaking of everything I do (laughs). Well, I am an evangelist, although this doesn't get out of the bag often, it’s more of a responsibility, than a title, I just like to be called Debeerex. My most joyful moments are when I hear testimonies of lives changed through the various ministries God has birthed through me. I am passionate about the children’s ministry. The young women’s ministry as well is one I don’t take lightly, I love to inspire, teach and counsel them in areas concerning self-actualisation, purpose, confidence, relationships and balanced living.
WHAT CAN YOU SAY TO A YOUNG AND UPCOMING WRITER? You don’t have time to waste!!! I feel many young people are wrapped up in the dreadful sting of procrastination. I agree that you can turn a new leaf at any age, but time is the only irrecoverable asset. Just begin, in your small groups, on your social media pages, as much as you can, just write. Figure out the real reason why you are hesitating, it could be fear, low self-esteem, opinions of others, laziness, indiscipline, etc. Knowledge of the source of the problem will increase your ability to fight it. Fear and timidity are two poisons that can leave you in regret for a long time. Failure is better than regret, start today.
