A LETTER FROM YOUR…

DIVISION 62 LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR VICKY NGUYEN

Hey Panthers! Summer has officially started! That means no more restless nights studying for tests or writing last minute research papers. Although summer has begun, please try to maintain your involvement with Key Club throughout the summer. I highly suggest and encourage all of you to ask your club officers if they have any summer service projects planned for the summer! Another way to stay involve during the summer is to attend monthly DCMs. The June Olympic DCM will be taking place at Laurelhurst Park on June 20th from 12PM-2PM. Please bring loose change because we will be doing Miracle Minute. The team that raises the most money will get to pie one of the Divisional board! It is so sad to see the seniors go, but I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you that have graduated. Your graduation officially marks the end of your Key Club journey, but that should not stop you from being a part of the K-Family! Please consider joining CKI in college. It’s similar to Key Club, but at a college level. To learn more about Circle K, please attend this month’s DCM because I have invited special guests that are members of CKI from University of Portland to come and talk about what it is, how to join, and their personal experience on it! Have a safe and wonderful summer!

"

Yours in caring service, Vicky Nguyen Lieutenant governor of Division 62 Phone: (971)340-5608 Email: vickynguyen.ltg62@gmail.com

What could possibly be better than a Joint DCM with Division 66?!

At the Joint DCM on May 17th, we first split it in two groups. The first group were to set up tables. While the second group were assigned to fill cups with gatorade and water. At about 9 o’clock the first runner passed by our water station and that is when everyone stopped what they are doing and hand out water to all the runners.

"

After the DCM, both divisions did the Elemonate Challenge and followed by a fundraiser a Chipotle Fundraiser.

Total raised from the Chipotle Fundraiser for the Eliminate Project:

$141.73 11.

WHAT IS KEY LEADER? Key Leader is a weekend experiential leadership program for today's young leaders. This life-changing event focuses on service leadership as the first, most meaningful leadership-development experience. A Key Leader will learn the most important lesson of leadership—it comes from helping others succeed. Participants begin by attending a Key Leader conference, which is a weekend retreat. Large and small group workshops, discussions and team-building activities take place over the course of the weekend. Students have opportunities to learn leadership skills that will help them to change their schools, communities, and world for the better. While exploring leadership in a whole new way, participants will make amazing new friends and have experiences they will never forget. Positive, ongoing interaction with other Key Leader graduates offers continuing reinforcement, encouragement and growth of leadership skills.

PANTHERS OF KIM HA We believe that Kim Ha has shown outstanding performance through what she has done as Secretary of 2014-2015. She has devoted much of her time towards Key Club, not only as an officer, but as a member as well. She doesn't hesitate to help and is willing to go out of her way to help people, even though her term is over. Not only does she try to show up at every event Key Club has, she goes out and volunteers on her own time.

14.

She's kind, sweet, and very hard worker. She has helped shaped Parkrose's Key Club in many ways and we will miss her when she graduates. However, we are looking forward to all the things she will be accomplishing in her future.

THE MONTH MOSES TRAN He is a hardworking individual and honestly I don't think I have ever seen anyone have so much passion and pride for Key Club as much as he has. He is a ray of sunshine and I do not know what our club (or this division) would do without our little Moses!Â

15.

What's a better way to kick off the start of summer than with an Olympic DCM?!

"

At this DCM, everyone will be split into teams by random. Within those teams, there will be various activities held for competition. These activities include: food contests, completing obstacles (three-legged race, etc), and a trivial section to test your knowledge about Key Club. There will also be a Miracle Minute, so don't forget to bring some change! The team that raises the most through Miracle Minute will get to pie one of the officers on the divisional board.

"

-- It is highly encouraged for seniors to come join us as there will be members from CKI @ University of Portland there to speak about Circle K.
