Registration Dates & Info

There are three ways to register -- Call us at 773.445.3838, register in-person at our front desk or go online at beverlyartcenter.org. The BAC encourages advance registrations. A class that does not meet minimum registration requirements 24 hours before the first class may be cancelled. While we do accept sign-ups the day classes begin, patrons should be aware that registration may be denied if the class is full or has been cancelled due to low enrollment.

*Late Registration - Any patron wishing to register after the first class of each session will be required to pay a $15 late registration fee except for private lessons. 3


General Information Payment Plans

The BAC offers a payment plan to students spending $250 or more in a session. Students pay 50% down upon registration. The remaining balance must be paid by week 4 of the session registered for - Jul 18th, Sept 12th and Nov 7th. Payment plans must be made in person at the front desk. Payments may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card. Full payment may be made at anytime prior to the fifth week. Payment plans require a signed credit card authorization form. If the student drops the class at any time during the session, charges will still apply. Membership discounts and sale prices apply.

Multiple Child Discount

The BAC offers a sibling discount of 5% off the member or non-member tuition price for the second sibling in the same workshop or camp. All siblings following the second sibling receive 10% tuition for the same workshop or camp. No sibling discounts will be applied to private lessons.

Photography Release

By registering for a class, the customer grants the Beverly Arts Center permission to photograph or video their child’s participation in the Beverly Arts Center’s education programs. The customer also grants the BAC permission to use their or their child’s likeness in a promotional capacity including, but not limited to, print materials, web site, online or out of home media, and other mediums now or later developed; as well as permission to share photography and video including their or their child’s likeness for use by media publication and institutions that fund the BAC’s operations and programs.

Tuition and Refunds

CLASSES & WORKSHOPS Full tuition is refunded only for classes or workshops canceled by the BAC. Students who wish to drop a workshop after registering but before the first date of the workshop will be charged a fee of $25.00. No refunds will be offered once a workshop has begun even if the student is absent for the first day of class. No make-up class will be offered if a student misses a class. During these unprecedented times, no refunds will be given if the classes move to a virtual platform. If the patron no longer wishes to participate, patrons will receive a class credit for a future session to be used within one year’s time. Registration ends the second full week of class. Classes may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not met. For classes paid for via invoice, customer acknowledges that remaining payments must be made according to the set payment plan. Full balance must be paid off by due date given. If payment is not paid in full on given due date, patrons will not be able to participate in any future registration. Registration fees will not be prorated for classes missed during

the session, nor will they be applied to another session. Not attending a class does NOT constitute an official withdrawal from a course or cancellation of tuition or fees.

LIVE EVENTS No refunds or exchanges will be honored once the tickets have been purchased. Should the Beverly Arts Center postpone an event, the original tickets will be honored for the new date. Should the Beverly Arts Center cancel an event, a full refund will be given, minus service fees. COVID-19 Attestation Declaration (Health Screener): For the health and safety of all, it is essential that each student is in good health when attending performances, camps, private lessons, classes, or workshops at the BAC. By registering for any School of Fine Arts offering or BAC performances in this catalog, you (and/or your child) are asserting that the Beverly Arts Center is not liable for COVID-19 transmission in the building. You (and/or your child) are also asserting that you (and/ or your child) will not enter the building with a known fever of 100.4 degrees or higher within the past 24 hours, with a cough, shortness of breath, chest congestion, difficulty breathing, or any other respiratory symptoms unrelated to a known health condition within the past 24 hours, with a sore throat unrelated to a known health condition within the past 24 hours, with a complete loss of smell or taste unrelated to a previously known health condition, with exposure to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibiting symptoms within the past 14 days, with a positive test result from a COVID-19 test within the last 14 days, and that you (and/or your child) will wear a mask during the duration of your time on-campus at the Beverly Arts Center. If any of the above changes, you must immediately alert BAC staff and you (and/or your child) may not be permitted to return to performances, in-person camps, private lessons, classes, or workshops until symptoms have cleared or until you have received a negative COVID-19 test result within 5-7 days after exposure to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.

DANCE Notes On Attire: Adult African Dance students may wear comfortable clothing and should be prepared to dance barefoot. The BAC’s newly-enhanced infant, toddler and early childhood classes are designed to stimulate, engage and delight our youngest performing artists. YOUTH & TEEN THEATRE Fun and imaginative exercises along with creative play engage the inner creator in Acting and Musical Theatre I-III workshops. These highly-engaging workshops are great for introverts and extroverts alike and provide an encouraging environment where students may express themselves through vocal exercises, movement, and character development. The writer & actor’s ability to write and construct plot lines, dialogue, character development, and story arc will be explored in Intro to Playwriting. BALLET In our Ballet sequence (Beginning with Twinkle Toe Toddlers and followed by Creative Movement), students will learn the foundation of dance by learning how a dance class operates, basic positions, warm-up and cool-down skills, and introductory techniques. Students graduate into Child Ballet Intro at age 5, building coordination, turn-out, and skill, and then move through Youth Ballet and Youth/Teen Ballet learning higher level techniques, musicality, and barre work while increasing flexibility and poise. Once at the intermediate/advanced level, dancers will strengthen and refine their ballet technique. All dancers must wear pink leotards, pink tights, pink ballet shoes with hair off their face or white t-shirt, black sweatpants, and black ballet shoes. COMBO Our Combo classes blend two styles of dance. The basic fundamentals of ballet and tap are explored while developing creativity, imagination, and body awareness in Child Combo Intro. In Youth Combo I and II, students will explore building balance, precision, and working within an ensemble. Students may wear any color leotard with tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, with hair off their face or a white t-shirt with any color sweatpants. CLASS

FALL MUSIC RECITAL Friday, December 16, 2022 | 6PM GUITAR Group guitar workshops are a great way to gain the skills you need for successful performance. Learn chords, strumming patterns, melodic lines, and popular songs as well as how to play with others in a fun, relaxed setting. Child Guitar Basics is perfect for our youngest students to learn the basics of guitar. Students ages 8-12 move on to the Youth Guitar 1 workshop. Adults wishing to learn their favorite songs on the guitar can take Guitar for Adults. Students must bring an acoustic or electric guitar to class. STRINGS BAC string classes begin with fundamentals and progress in levels, adding higher technical skills, introducing mixed meters and scales, and challenging students to improve sound and dexterity as they learn to play more difficult pieces. Older students progress through Violin Intro A and B. Older students begin in Violin, Viola, Cello I and progress through levels one to three with instructor approval. CLASSES FOR KID ARTISTS Join Teaching Artist, Sandra Burrage, every Saturday for a fun new project including an Animal Collage, a Weavable Wearable, Box Top Animals, and a Glue batik. Come dressed for mess and have some fun. In Art for Kids, children explore different media such as construction paper, glue, glitter, and paint and remember to dress for mess. CLASSES FOR TWEEN ARTISTS Learn the basics of animation & cartoons in Anime & Cartoons for Tweens. Tweens/Teens Ceramics and Fused Glass will engage students using raw clay, basic ceramics tools, and colored glass. Projects focus on the process of creating and will cover all the basics. Figure Drawing for Tweens, covers the basics of drawing from the ground up, while also teaching how to create characters and add narrative to a story. In Art for Tweens children explore different art mediums such as drawing, painting, clay, and mixed materials. Projects focus on the process of creating. Silver Cinema Film Course Continues in May! The Beverly Arts Center’s Silver Cinema film series returns this May with a career retrospective of one of cinema’s most influential filmmakers, Alfred Hitchcock! This mini-course, consisting of three of the master’s most influential films, will be guest-curated by the BAC’s Morgan-Eliza Cooper. Prior to each screening, Morgan will share a behind-the-scenes look at the making of each film, enhancing participant’s enjoyment.
