Alexis de Tocqueville spunea cândva că: ”America este mare câtă vreme America este bună, iar când America va înceta să mai fie bună, America va înceta să mai fie mare”. Nu vă bucuraţi şi nu vă enervaţi – acum că trăim în era globalizării, cu toate beneficiile şi neajunsurile ei, America e doar un nume pentru omenirea întreagă. Noi, oamenii, suntem atât de trufaşi că suntem încununarea Creaţiei, încât uităm tocmai esenţa acestui lucru şi ne devorăm unii pe alţii, precum cele din urmă fiare. E nevoie ca unii dintre noi să se sacrifice pentru a ne deschide ochii şi a ne salva. Unii au murit pe cruce, alţii au fost sfâşiaţi de lei. Fotojurnalistul Zoriah e un astfel de martir, dar unul modern. De ani de zile nu mai cunoaşte cuvântul ”acasă”, înfruntă SIDA, gloanţe, bombe, cutremure şi, mai ales,

deznădejdea, pentru ca noi să vedem. Să vedem chipul războiului din Irak, al dezastrelor naturale din Asia sau al sărăciei dezumanizante din Africa. Acestea sunt locurile unde Zoriah a ales să îşi trăiască martiriul. Fotografiile sale provoacă o senzaţie aparte, de durere greu de îndurat, dar căreia nu i te poţi sustrage. Nu surprinde decât crâmpeie de suferinţă, dar atât de emblematice, încât ansamblul devine evident şi aproape insuportabil. Priviţi-o pe fetiţa cu ochii albaştri; frumuseţea răzbate dincolo de mizerie. Priviţi mâna de doctor care o oblojeşte pe cea sângerândă; ce departe suntem de scânteia divină de pe Capela Sixtină. Înainte de toate însă, priviţi-l pe băieţelul care strânge sârma ghimpată ca şi cum ar fi singura lui jucărie; dacă simţiţi un fior de ruşine, nu e încă totul pierdut. Nici nu vreau să-mi imaginez cum s-a simţit fotograful american până să apese pe buton. Să nu vă temeţi să vedeţi, pentru ca martiriul lui Zoriah să nu fie în zadar!

has faced AIDS, bullets, bombs, earthquakes and, most of all, the despair, so that we could see. So that we could see the face of the war in Irak, of the natural disasters in Asia or that of the dehumanizing poverty in Africa. These are the places where Zoriah chose to live his martyrdom.

Do not rejoice and do not get mad – now that we live in the globalisation era, with all its benefits and shortcomings, America is just a name for all humankind. We, humans, are so proud to be the epitome of Creation, that we forget the very essence of it and we devour each other just like the cruelest of beasts. It is necessary that some people sacrifice themselves, in order to open our eyes and save us. Some died on the cross, others were torn apart by lions.

His pictures trigger a special sensation, of unbearable anguish, but one you cannot refrain from. He only captures pieces of suffering, but they are so suggestive, that the whole becomes obvious and almost unendurable. Look at the girl with blue eyes; her beauty defeats all filth. Look at the doctor’s hand that cares for the bleeding one; how far are we from the divine spark on the ceiling of the Sixtine Chapel. But, before all this, look at the little boy holding the barbed wire as if it were his last toy; if you feel a shiver of shame, not everything is lost yet. I don’t even want to imagine how the American photographer felt before pushing the button.

“Activez în domeniul ajutorului umanitar şi a managementului dezastrelor. Astfel, m-am hotărât să îi ajut pe oameni împărtăşindu-le tuturor prin fotografiile mele povestea vieţii lor. Am luat un bilet dus către Asia şi am început să fotografiez sărăcia de acolo, SIDA, tsunamiul, precum şi alte probleme sociale si politice. La început, îmi prezentam fotografiile agenţiilor de presă, apoi, când am devenit independent, munca mea s-a bazat pe donaţii şi fonduri private. M-am născut in SUA şi, în ultimii ani, nu am avut un domiciliu fix, trăind şi profesând în aproape 50 de ţări. În ceea ce priveşte echipamentul tehnic, fotografia se bazează în esenţă pe fotograf şi nu pe tipul de aparat foto pe care acesta îl foloseşte. Este mai bine să îţi cheltuieşti banii pe proiecte şi călătorii decât pe echipament. La începutul carierei mele am folosit o cameră foto nu foarte performantă, iar în prezent am un corp Canon 1ds şi obiectiv L. Folosesc mai mereu lumina naturală, deşi iau cu mine şi un blitz pentru eventuale întrebuinţări”.

I was born in the United States and for the last six years I have not had a home, living and working in nearly fifty countries around the world. As far as equipment goes, photography is about the photographer and not the kind of camera he or she uses. It is better to spend your money on your projects and traveling than on equipment. When I started out I used very poor camera equipment and now I use Canon 1ds bodies and L series lenses. I almost always use natural light, although i carry a flash for certain uses”.

Se iau două prietene cu imaginaţie, cel puţin la fel de deschise către creativitate, frumoase şi expresive. Dezinvoltura este de asemenea un ingredient indispensabil. Având toate aceste ingrediente, reţeta vine de la sine. Rezultatul este departe de satisfăcător. Satisfacţia mea a fost cu atât mai mare cu cât am redat prin imagini caracterele celor două prietene, ce au reuşit să îmi însenineze seara, în timpul procesării imaginilor. Un caracter boem, naiv, deschis versus un caracter ceva mai dur, matur, cu garda sus. Un oarecare puritanism versus o altă oarecare frivolitate. De aceea lucrul cu Anca a fost pentru mine mai uşor spre deosebire de Iulia, sensibil rigidă. Dar provocările mi-au plăcut întotdeauna. Fotografiile crează reacţii în rândul privitorilor, şi până la urmă acesta este rolul unei fotografii: ca atunci când este privită să creeze o stare. Am observat că privitorii care agreează simbolul transmis de fotografiile cu Iulia, agreează mai puţin imaginile cu Anca, mă refer ca mesaj, separat de compoziţia în sine. Şi reciproca e valabilă. Aceste două fete, cărora le sunt recunoscătoare să le am ca prietene, mi-au dăruit o zi specială pentru pasiunea mea. Ce poate fi mai incitant într-o singură zi decât o şuetă cu prietenele la cafea, într-un loc special, unde lucrurile decurg firesc, împreună cu imortalizarea firescului unei prietenii. Imaginile vorbesc de la sine.

Take two fancy friends, both open to creativity, beautiful and expressive. Their inhibited personality is also an irreplaceable ingredient. With all these ingredients, the recipe comes naturally, indeed, you don’t need a preestablished one. The result is very satisfying. I was very satisfied as I managed to capture my two friends’ features and convey it through pictures. This cheered me up while I was looking at the images. One bohemian, naïve, open personality versus a sterner, mature personality prepared for everything. A certain amount of Puritanism versus an indefinite frivolousness. This is why, I worked easily with Anca than with Iulia who was sensible and strict. However, I have always loved challenges. The pictures trigger reactions within the viewers; this is actually a picture’s role: to express a feeling whenever one looks at it. I noticed that the viewers who like the symbol represented by the pictures with Iulia, don’t like the pictures with Anca. And when I say that, I’m referring to the message different from the composition itself and vice versa. These two girls to whom I am grateful because they are my friends, give me as a present their help to my hobby. What could be more exciting in one day than a talk with your friends, over coffee, in a special place where everything is natural and to capture the image of this friendship? The pictures speak by themselves.

Pasiunea pentru foto a apărut prin liceu, când am primit un Zenit TTL de la tatăl meu. Mai bine zis, el nu îl mai folosea iar eu mi l-am însuşit. La început, l-am desfăcut doar pentru a vedea cum funcţionează iar apoi mă prefăceam că fac poze, fără film. Cu timpul însă am început să introduc şi filme în aparat, şi aşa - încet-încet, s-a aprins pasiunea. Supărarea mare a fost când inevitabilul s-a produs, iar lumina a început să pătrundă în aparat (prin alte locuri decât prin obiectiv).

I am fond of photography since I was in highschool, when my father gave me a Zenit TTL. Actually, he didn’t use the camera anymore and I took it. At first, I open it to see how it worked and then I pretended to take pictures without using a film. In time, I started putting films into the camera and this is how – step by step- my passion for photography aroused. I was sad when the inevitable happened and the light gone into the camera (through other parts than the lens).

Foto: Fotografiile sunt realizate în zona Bran. Toate fotografiile sunt surprinse în format RAW şi prelucrate ulterior în Photoshop (pentru a obţine trei imagini cu diferenţe de două expuneri). Imaginea HDR (High Dinamic Range) a fost obţinută cu ajutorul programului Photomatix Pro 3.

Pictures: I took the pictures at Bran, this autumn. All the pictures are shot in RAW format and then processed in Photoshop, in order to have three images with two different exposures. The HDR image was processed with Photomatix Pro 3.

Concursuri fotografice

gratuit pentru portofoliul personal, publicarea fotografiilor în revista Planet.

Fotografia reprezintă arta scrierii cu lumină. Asta o ştiu toţi fotografii, atât cei profesionişti cât şi cei amatori. Şi cum în orice domeniu al artei, artistul simte nevoia de a-şi etala creaţiile, de a arăta şi altora ceea ce a dorit să exprime, au apărut primele expoziţii. Dar cum în toate domeniile există o dorinţă a fiecăruia de a fi cel mai bun, s-au încercat diverse tipuri de clasificări. Concursurile dintre fotografi au fost următorul pas, apărut inevitabil. Şi cum timpul a trecut, la fel ca şi tehnologia, şi concursurile au evoluat. Dacă până în 1989, în Asociaţia Artiştilor Fotografi din România era singura organizaţie care putea promova fotografia, şi organiza saloane şi concursuri, inclusiv cu participări internaţionale, după explozia digitală, şi concursurile foto au luat un avânt neaşteptat. O simplă căutare pe marile motoare de căutare pe internet relevă zeci de concursuri, saloane, expoziţii. Însă nu toate au o participare notorie, aşa că în acest articol am încercat să vă prezentăm câteva concursuri importante care se desfăşoară în prezent.

2. Concurs de fotografie “Evoluţie”

1. Concurs de fotografie “Global Travel” organizat de revista Travel

Concursul este deschis oricărui fotograf, amator sau profesionist. Nu există un număr limită de fotografii care pot participa la concurs, dar pentru fiecare se plăteşte o taxă de înscriere de 15$. Premiile constau într-un bilet de călătorie în jurul lumii, valabil timp de un an sau 1.000$, cărţi de fotografie, albume foto, website

A patra ediţie a concursului de fotografie a site-ului concurs-foto.ro are ca temă “Evoluţia”. Sunt acceptate fotografii, care prin subiect şi/ sau modalitate de realizare sugerează într-o manieră artistică ideea de evoluţie: evoluţie umană, evoluţie socială, evoluţie culturală etc. Ediţiile anterioare s-au bucurat de un mare număr al participanţilor (peste 10.000) care au înscris aproximativ 3000 de fotografii, iar ultima ediţie a atras circa 30.000 de vizitatori unici şi peste 65.000 de vizite. Unul din cele mai mari concursuri din lume, Sony World Photography Awards, este deschis oricărei persoane peste 18 ani. Înscrierile se primesc până la 31 decembrie 2008, festivitatea de premiere va avea loc la „Palais des Festivals” în Cannes, Franţa. Evenimentul reuneşte nume influente din lumea fotografiei, presei, din media şi din arta vizuală în general. Valoarea totală a premiilor depăşeşte suma de 25.000 $. Concursul are valabilitate pe întreg teritoriul României. Renaissance este o competiţie internaţională de fotografie deschis oricărei persoane peste 16 ani. Pot participa atât fotografi profesionişti cât şi amatori. Câştigătorul marelui premiu va fi recompensat cu suma de 3.000 lire sterline, iar câştigătorii fiecărei categorii vor primi un premiu de 500 lire. În urma concursului va fi organizată o expoziţie la care vor expune 60 de finalişti. Concursul are un scop caritabil, fondurile adunate în urma competiţiei şi expoziţiei urmând să fie donate pentru sprijinul persoanelor afectate de cancerul de sân. But, because everyone wants to be the best in his domain, there have been done all types of classifications. Inevitably, the next step was the photographers contest. In time, along with the technological evolution the contests have also changed. If, before 1989, the organization pertaining to the Association of Art Photographers of Romania was the only one who promoted photography and organized international photo salons and contests, after the digital boom, the photo contests advanced unexpectedly. A simple Google research shows many contests, photo salons, exhibitions. Not all the contests have a remarkable participation, so I tried in this article to recommend you some important ones that are taking place now.

Modele: Ana Maria Musca Alexandru Zatreanu Asistent: Radu Constantinescu Fotografiile prezentate alături fac parte din proiectul The Mob. Ca şi tehnică de iluminare, am folosit trei proiectoare tunsgren cu temperatură de culoare de 7000K (lumină continuă), dintre care două proiectoare de 500W şi unul de 1kW. În principal, s-a folosit o lumină de contur pentru a da volum fotografiilor şi pentru a distanţa personajele de fundal, şi două lumini de faţă, ambele de 500W, directionate în sus, în direcţia opusă personajelor spre două blende albe, care au rolul de a reflecta lumina difuză către personaje şi de asemenea au rol în atenuarea umbrelor. Ca tehnică foto, am folosit un Canon EOS 350D pe care am pus un obiectiv Canon 24-70mm f2.8L, care la momentul respectiv mi-a oferit cel mai bun raport între distorsiune şi unghiul de cuprindere. Proiectul a fost inspirat din trilogia The Godfather, care, de asemenea, este şi tema balului bobocilor din acest an.

The above pictures are a part of The Mob project. I used, as a lighting technique, 3 tunsgren spotlight, a 7000K colour temperature (continuous light) among which 2 spotlight of 500W and one of 1kW. I mainly used an outline light to give a sense of volume to the pictures and to move away the characters from the backround. I also used 2 front lights, both of 500W, up orientated, in the opposite direction of the characters, towards the 2 white blendes which have the role to reflect the diffuse light in the characters and also to diminish shadows. As photo technique, I used a Canon EOS 350D and a Canon 24-7mm f2.8 lens which established the best proportion distortion-wide-angle. This project was inspired by The Godfather trilogy which is also the theme of this year ball.

Subexpunerea

o problema frecventa

Expunerea perfectă a fotografiilor este dorinţa oricărui fotograf. Este ceva ce vine cu răbdare şi practică; totuşi, cu ajutorul câtorva tehnici învăţate în Photoshop, calitatea fotografiilor va fi una mult mai bună. Subexpunerea se datorează lipsei suficiente de lumină care ajunge la senzorul camerei. Niciodată o fotografie nu trebuie să fie judecată după modul în care apare pe monitorul calculatorului. Imaginea poate fi influenţată de numeroşi factori din mediul înconjurător. Cel mai bun mod de a judeca calitatea expunerii este folosirea opţiunii Levels din meniul Image>Adjustments>Levels sau Ctrl+L. Graficul din meniul Levels reprezintă tonalitatea pixelilor prezenţi, de-a lungul unei axe de la 0 la 255.

Această fotografie a fost făcută fără a folosi flashul, fapt datorită căruia fotografia este subexpusă. Pentru moment, această fotografie pare nefolositoare, însă, cu câteva ajustări în meniul Levels ea poate fi reparată.

acest triunghi este folosit pentru repararea imaginilor supraexpuse. Triunghiul alb din partea dreaptă a axei este folosit pentru punctele luminoase; mutându-l pe acesta spre stânga imaginea va fi luminată. Aşadar, acesta va fi folosit pentru repararea imaginilor subexpuse. Triunghiul gri, din mijlocul axei, reprezintă tonurile medii şi poate fi folosit pentru repararea greşelilor de expunere sau de scanare. Imaginea următoare reprezintă o subexpunere creată din greşeala de a nu folosi flash-ul în interiorul unei clădiri. Rezultatul: o imaginea foarte întunecată, dar care totuşi păstrează câteva detalii, suficiente ca această fotografie să fie salvată.

La baza axei graficului, există trei triunghiuri.

După cum se poate observa şi în histogramă, în partea stângă, există în această fotografie mai multe părţi întunecate, subexpuse.

Triunghiul din stânga, cel negru, este folosit pentru setarea tonurilor închise; mutând acest triunghi spre dreapta, imaginea va deveni mai întunecată. De obicei,

Pentru a repara această fotografie cele două triunghiuri reprezentând tonurile de mijloc şi cele luminoase trebuiesc mutate într-o nouă poziţie.

O privire asupra Histogramei indică faptul că fotografia este mult subexpusă, majoritatea pixelilor aflîndu-se în partea stângă a Histogramei, în partea întunecată a acesteia.

Mutând triunghiul alb spre mijlocul pozei se poate observa o îmbunătăţire a calităţii fotografiei. Triunghiul gri, cel pentru tonurile mijlocii se va muta automat, balansând tonurile luminoase cu cele întunecate.

În urma acestor simple ajustări, fotografia poate fi acum imprimată şi folosită.

Expunerea

unei fotografii

Cum în fotografie totul este despre lumină, aceasta este deseori aliata fotografului. Orice fotograf poate să jongleze cu modul cum camera citeşte lumina, datorită setării manuale a camerei. Desigur că setarea Auto este la îndemîna oricui, fiind utilă în condiţii dificile de lumină. Însă, pentru a obţine cea mai bună expunere pentru fotografia artistică, trebuie să cunoşti ajustarea şi raportul dintre apertură (aperture), viteza declanşatorului (shutter speed) şi ISO. În fotografie, un principiu important este acela al reciprocităţii între cele trei ingrediente. O fotografie corect expusa înseamnă că lumina care a fost înregistrată de senzorul camerei a fost suficientă. Există trei modalităţi de a realiza o bună expunere: 1. deschiderea sau închiderea aperturii;

2. ajustarea timpului cât declanşatorul este deschis; 3. ajustarea setarii ISO

Viteza declanşatorului < ISO 400

Atunci cînd setările camerei nu pot fi făcute decît manual, trebuie setată viteza declanşatorului, ceea ce reprezintă timpul cât senzorul este expus la lumină. Viteza declanşatorului este comun marcată după cum urmează: 1, 2, 3, 8, 15, 30, 60, 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000 şi 4000. Exceptând prima măsură, 1, toate celelalte reprezintă fracţii ale unei secunde. 1 reprezintă 1/1 secunde, adică o secundă întreagă; 2 reprezintă o jumătate de secundă, 3 – o treime de secundă iar 4 un sfert de secundă etc. De menţionat este faptul că, odată cu creşterea numărului, viteza declanşatorului descreşte, mai puţină lumină pătrunzând în cameră. Deci, o viteză mare a declanşatorului va „îngheţa” acţiunea (ideală pentru fotografiile din sport).

Apertura reprezintă gradul în care diafragma din lentilă este deschisă. Aceasta este măsurată în f-stops şi controlează

profunzimea câmpului, adică cât de mult din imagine este în focus. Cu un f-stop mic subiectul este în focus, în timp ce background-ul fotografiei este în blur. Cu un f-stop mare, întreaga fotografie este în focus, având deci o profunzime a câmpului foarte mare. Dintre cele mai comune valori f-stop pot fi enumerate: f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/11 sau f/22. Cu cât numărul este mai mare, cu atât deschiderea aperturii este mai mică. Valorile mici, precum f/2.8 (camerele digitale indicată deseori decât valoarea 2.8) reprezintă o deschidere largă a aperturii – perfectă pentru fotografiile de noapte. O setare ca f/22 reprezintă o deschidere mică a aperturii fiind o alegere excelentă pentru fotografia gen peisaj, în zilele însorite.

ISO Fotografiind în interior, orice fotograf trebuie să înţeleagă că dispune de mai puţină lumină decât fotografiind în aer liber. Nefolosind flash-ul, pentru a compensa lipsa luminii, devine necesară ajustarea setării ISO a camerei. Aceste standarde sunt stabilite de către International Standards Organization. Setarea ISO determină sensibilitatea camerei faţă de lumină. Cu cât valoarea ISO este mai mică, cu atât camera este mai puţin sensibilă la lumină. Tot ceea ce trebuie ştiut despre ISO sunt valorile de 100, 200, 400 şi 800. Unele camere pot merge şi la valori mai mici şi mai mari. Fotografiind la valori mai mari de 800 ISO se poate obţine zgomot digital (pete nedorite de culoare roşie, verde sau albastră) sau zgomot de imagine vizibil mai ales în părţile închise la culoare sau în culorile solide. Mattew Bamberg în Digital Art Photography for Dummies oferă câteva sfaturi în vederea folosirii setărilor ISO. „Dacă aveţi disponibil un trepied, fotografiaţi folosind o valoare cât mai redusă a ISO şi o viteză mică a

declanşatorului. Dacă nu dispuneţi de un trepied, folosiţi o suprafaţă stabilă pentru a fixa camera şi utilizaţi o valoare ISO mai ridicată. Dacă nu puteţi utiliza nici trepied şi nici o suprafaţă stabilă pentru stabilirea camerei, puteţi alege între posibil blur (la valori ISO mici) sau zgomot de imagine (la valori ISO mari)”. Obţinerea unei expuneri reuşite este reprezentată de combinaţia dintre apertură şi viteza declanşatorului. Însă, respectarea unei anumite reguli în combinaţia dintre apertură şi viteza declanşatorului poate produce şi efecte nedorite. De exemplu, fotografierea unui peisaj cu o apertură f/8 şi o viteză a declanşatorului de 1/30 secunde pare a fi setarea perfectă. Apetura mică oferă fotografiei o bună profunzime a câmpului, obiectele fiind în focus, în timp ce viteza declanşatorului, prea lentă, pare a fi o problemă fără folosirea unui trepied. Se poate spune că se obţine astfel o imagine perfect expusă, însă cu foarte mult blur, datorită mişcării camerei. De asemenea, o altă problemă care poate să apară, din combinaţia celor două este reprezentată de subexpunere, respectiv supraexpunerea fotografiei. Selectarea unei viteze mari a declanşatorului (ceea ce înseamnă o expunere pentru un timp redus) implică o modificare a aperturii. În această situaţie, păstrarea aperturii f/8 (când senzorul primeşte mai puţină lumină) va rezulta într-o fotografie subexpusă, mult prea întunecată. La polul opus, folosirea unei viteze lente a declanşatorului (de exemplu 1/125 secunde), însă păstrarea valorii f/2.8 pentru apertură, va genera o fotografie supraexpusă. Această combinaţie între cele două setări lasă prea multă lumină să fie înregistrată de senzor, în acest caz, alegerea perfectă fiind f/4.

Sunt medic specialist în Medicina Internă şi Director General al Centrului de Diagnostic Santa Vita din Sighetu-Marmaţiei. I am a doctor, expert in Interne Medicine and director of Santa Vista Diagnostic Centre of Sighetu Marmaţiei. I have taken pictures since I was 6-7 years old, when I used a black and white film and a Zenit E and I developed them by myself (watched over by my uncle). I was my class photographer and a great tripper. I kept this hobby over the years and, 4-5 years ago I replaced my “Minolta 9 xi” with my first SLR: Nikon D50. I have never put it down since then – every day I study and take pictures, there is no travel or business trip without my camera. A couple a months ago, I took the decisive step – I bought a Nikon D700 which I think it’s great, especially in low light environment. I can’t say I have a favorite theme, but I like landscapes and portraits (in this section I include my favorite subject – my daughter Karin).

E controversat dacă indicatoarele de curbă periculoasă trebuiau sau nu scoase. Dreamland - minimalism and compositional geometry: the big line of firs descending in opposite angles to the four ascending firs and the white background give, I think, a cool visual effect. It is debatable whether the signs with dangerous turn should be deleted or not.

Încă de când eram copil, îmi plăcea să fac fotografii la orice, folosind mereu toate filmele pe care părinţii mei le cumpărau şi nu erau prea încântaţi de asta. Mi-am descoperit această pasiune acum un an. Totul a început cu fotografiile făcute cu un aparat HP vechi, pe care le-am editat şi le-am pus pe site-uri de fotografie.

As a kid I have always loved to take photographs of everything, always using all of the film my parents analogue camera, they weren’t always happy with that. It was only until a year ago that I have discovered my passion. Taking shots with an old HP compact camera, editing and uploading them to photocommuntity websites, that’s when it all came to life.

Totul s-a petrecut foarte repede. Într-un an am trecut de la un HP Photosmart M425 la următorul arsenal: Canon EOS 400D Canon 50mm F/1.8 Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Tokina 12-24mm F/4.0 Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Plus multe alte accesorii pentru aparat. Dacă ar trebui să îmi definesc stilul aş face-o astfel: fotografii simetrice (!), folosind contraste puternice şi fără teama de a utiliza întunericul. It has all gone very fast for me, in a year time I have gone from a HP Photosmart m425 to this arsenal; Canon EOS 400D Canon 50mm F/1.8 Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Tokina 12-24mm F/4.0 Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 And a lot of smaller accessories for the camera If I had to define my style I would say; All round photography, using high contrasts and not afraid to use darkness in photographs. My plans for the future are going to the Fotovakschool in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. To pursue my dream.

făcută în oraşul natal. Am pus pur şi simplu aparatul pe pământ şi am apăsat pe buton. Aceasta este de fapt prima mea încercare de a face o fotografie nocturnă. Cred că a ieşit destul de bine. Lumina de la felinar care se reflectă în maşina în momentul apropierii de acesta creează un efect ciudat şi inedit în acelaşi timp.

Along the lines - Taken in

my hometown. Simply put the camera on the ground and hit the shutter button. This is actually my first attempt at a night shot. I think it came out quite nice. The light from the lantern reflecting of the car when it drives near it is a strange but cool effect I think.

Destination unknown Fotografie făcută în Germania. Cred că această fotografie conferă o panoramă drăguţă a reţelei de drumuri interminabile din Germania, cu privelişti pitoreşti, drumuri care duc spre locuri frumoase. Germania a constituit mereu o sursă de inspiraţie pentru fotografiile mele.

Destination unknown Taken in Germany. I think this photograph gives a nice view of the endless amount of roads in Germany. Making for beautiful sights and leading to beautiful places. Germany has always been a big inspiration for me for taking photographs.

Early in the morning Fotografie din Germania. Am modificat culorile pentru a da sentimentul că este dimineaţa devreme aşa cum am şi intitulat-o. În această fotografie este un oarecare calm ceea ce mă face să imi doresc să mă întorc în locul acela şi să ma plimb acolo, să mă bucur de linişte.

Early in the morning Photograph taken in Germany. I have edited the colors in this photograph to give it a feeling that its early in the morning as the title says. There is a certain amount of calm in this photograph, it makes me want to go back to that place and just walk there, enjoy the silence.

făcută în Germania. Ceea ce face această fotografie specială este modul în care am surprins unghiul maşinii şi mişcarea din background. Se crează o senzaţie de mişcare, deşi maşina pare împietrită.

taken in Germany. I think what makes this photograph special is how the car is sharp and the background has movement in it. Gives it a feeling of movement though the car seems to be frozen.

The road ahead - Am făcut această fotografie în Germania în timp ce mergeam cu maşina. Asta explică senzaţia de mişcare redată în fotografie. Îmi place datorită contrastului alb-negru, iar liniştea locului îmi conferă un sentiment de pace, foarte plăcut.

The road ahead - This photograph was taken in Germany. Took it from a moving car, which explains the little motion you see in the photograph. I like this photograph because of the contrast between absolute black and absolute white and the serenity of the place gives me a calm feeling which I really like in photographs.

Fotografie făcută în Germania, exact înainte de o furtună foarte puternică. Aceasta a fost ultima fotografie făcută înainte să fiu nevoit să intru în maşină din cauza ploii. Este o fotografie HDR, cu 3 expuneri. Am încercat astfel să îi dau un efect dramatic care a şi ieşit, după părerea mea.

Dark times to come - Taken

in Germany. This was taken just before a very big thunderstorm came rolling into town. This was the last shot before I had to get inside the car due to the rain. The photograph is a HDR of 3 exposures, with that advantage I tried to give it a very dramatic effect. Which worked out quite nice I think.

Germania. Această fotografie e o dovadă a curajului fotografilor sau a prostiei lor? Noi, fotografii, ne asumăm de obicei riscuri pentru a face o fotografie reuşită. Aceasta a fost făcută la o viteză de peste 100 km/h, ceea ce ii conferă un efect puternic de mişcare.

This photograph represents photographers courage or stupidness? We photographers usually take much risk in getting a shot we like. This shot was taken at around 100 kilometres per hour, giving it a huge motion effect.

Leeuwarden, Olanda, în parcarea unui mall. Consider că liniile luminate şi săgeata mare creează un efect puternic şi un mesaj evident. Toate luminile par să converge într-o singură direcţie, direcţia sugerată şi de săgeată.

That way - Taken in

Leeuwarden, Netherlands. This was taken in a parking garage under a shopping mall in Leeuwarden. I think the lines in the lighting and the large arrow give it a very strong effect and a clear message. It looks like all the lights lead to one direction, the direction the arrow is pointing at.
