9A – 1P Dakar Media Academy- Why Technology Matter - Exploration of Best Practices #smwComptonChannel26 and #friendsofCompton DAKAR Foundation in coordination with Compton Unified School District and Channel 26 will conduct a LiveStream broadcast during Social Media week to stimulate interests in technology innovation and implementation within the school system to impact graduation rate and career readiness. We will focus on “Best Practices” for the usage of Technology in the Classroom led by a representative from Apple Education. The event will showcase Channel 26 and the opportunity to share our ROP curriculum track in partnership with DAKAR Media Academy. The showcase will use Livestream, Instagram, Facebook and twitter, and Google Hangout to share and personalize interactions with student’s, educators, mentors and community partners while encouraging others in the educational realm to duplicate partnerships

The goal is to create a curriculum that will secure career placement in: Film and TV Broadcast Production, Audio Engineering, Marketing Communications, Music publishing and Distribution, and Transmedia. We meet weekly and are committed to making sure that no only potential employers and members of industry are present but that parents, city officials and other members of the community are involved. We are seeking Technology and Media Partners and Professionals to Mentor for our program.
