urrently there is nothing informing the government about how the immigrants feel about the guidance and support being working for the incomers; the only guidance there is, it’s only directed to immigrants and it’s the web-site for Immigration Canada, directing people who are planning to come to Canada about the requirements, how to apply for permits, licenses, visas and paperwork, directed to adults; as for the younger people such as teenagers, they are being overlooked and not taken in mind as for what they are going to be living in a new country with a new culture Something else that government is missing is the importance put in the knowledge that teenagers might bring from their country since due to some lack of practise with the language might result in misunderstanding of information for the person, making them seem to be in a lower level in school, holding students back, and forcing them to go through curses again, prolonging their period of study. The lack of guidance during high school is the main issue for young immigrants since for high school students the time seems to be running backwards adding pressure in what career to choose The classes should be instead of making it easier for the student, should be directed to what the student wants to take afterwards, improving the help that will be needed to achieve an average and goal for the student. Not only school and change of culture is an issue, the so called “Canadian experience” is an issue as well for immigrating teenagers, since the short period of living doesn’t allow enough time to create this experience, which is required in many jobs. The need for the government to keep in mind teenagers who enter Canada, is to improve their stay, education and decisions to be taken in this country supporting them in what their dreams are, since teenagers are the future, and in their hands is the prosperity of the country.

These people come to learn a new language and start a new life in a culture that they provably haven’t experienced before, causing them to be held back in school years, delaying their learning and even causing depression leading them to drop out, on the other side, another group of them whom may not drop out, end up taking courses that they hadn’t planned, and a small minority end up taking courses that they wanted to; this is not only due to the disadvantage of changing culture or language, but it is also influenced by the guidance given in school. When a student starts school, undergoes a test to judge the level of English and math that the student is at, and from there, the student is placed

in certain level, sometimes even taken them back 2 school years and then located in a temporary school. Upon arrival to high school, the student is placed in easy classes not related leaving them with no opportunity to apply to courses in a post secondary education. A strong factor that affects students, is the economic source, now that at the moment when the teenager reaches and postsecondary search for education, many parents are still struggling to have a stable income to support their living expenses, at this point is when teenagers start looking for work to help at home and at the same time support themselves and their studies, unfortunately most jobs require “Canadian experience” which the person might not have, limiting their opportunity to work leading teenagers to take jobs with a low payment in such places as fast food restaurants or grocery stores which don’t create enough income to afford a descent education.

he investigation of immigrant’s lifestyles and changes of culture has inspired the idea and my project which is based on stories and anecdotes of immigrants to Canada, and their experiences living in a new culture; to aware to government the lack of support and guidance for teenage immigrants. To achieve this I have created a passive protest to gather a community giving the chance to people who want to share their experience with the government and improve the situation for new Canadians, so it is proven that this difficulties don’t only relate to few people but to a big amount of immigrants. That is why I have decided to call this project “Visa for a dream?”; To imply the doubt and insecurity that the situation creates in the community that leaves them wondering if coming to Canada was the right decision to make their dreams come true or end up doing something that they weren’t expecting

After designing the graphic itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s printed on the recipient paper to transfer on clothes.

After the graphics were printed the exceding material was removed to have a cleaner look

This is how it looked after the exceding material was removed before application

Onced cut itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s placed on the whished area and covered with paper to iron.

Iron for about a minute and remove the covering paper.

The graphics were plotted, weeded and masked for easier transfer.

Then the stencil was placed on the luggage in the place where wished.

Once the graphic is placed, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s stuck on the lid to avoid bleeds.

Since the graphics are stuck on the lid, the tranfering mas is carefully removed to alllow the application of the paint.

Now the paint is applied in the exposed cloth to maintain paint the wished area, carefullly not to bleed under the stencil. After the paint is dry, the stencil is removed and the graphic is printed on the lid.

Now some touches and little details are added to finish the look of the logo
