RUPERT SIMONER

Chief Executive Officer Rupert Simoner has been CEO of Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG since the 1st of September 2014. As CEO, he is responsible for the focus and future of the company as well as the development and operation of new hotel projects worldwide. In his last position, as Senior Vice President at Kempinski Hotels, Simoner was in charge of strategic development for all hotels in Europe, Russia and the CIS nations. He also served as managing director of the group’s flagship hotel, the Grand Hotel des Bains in St. Moritz. His career has taken him across four continents, always with the aim of “creating something unique”. Rupert Simoner attended a higher secondary tourism school in Salzburg and holds an MBA from the Reims Management School.

MARTIN YKEMA

Chief Operating Officer Martin Ykema has been working as Chief Operating Officer at Vienna International Hotelmanagement since the 1st of September 2013 and is responsible for the operational management of all hotels of the hotel group, headquartered in Vienna. From August 2007 until his appointment to the VI-Management Board, he was Area Director with Lindner Hotels and especially responsible for the international hotels of the group. Before that, he was in charge of the Orbis hotel group and 15 hotels of Sofitel, Mercure and Novotel in North Poland. The management career of Martin Ykema has started in 1992 when he was the General Manager of the Novotel in Maastricht. Following that, he was responsible for the Mercure The Hague and Novotel New York as General Manager and also accompanied hotel openings of the first Ibis and Novotel Hotels in the Czech Republic. Martin Ykema has a Bachelor’s Degree from the Dutch Hotelschool The Hague in Den Haag.

JOHANNA WEICHSELBAUMER

Chief Financial Officer Johanna Weichselbaumer has been working for the Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG since 1991. The qualified Tourism Manager was appointed authorised signatory at the beginning of 2004. From this time onwards, her responsibilities included the overall management of the entire financial and legal department. Johanna Weichselbaumer is also the managing director of all subsidiaries and therefrom a counterpart for investor relations, shareholders, banks and contractual partners.
