Summer Shape and Style Summer’s breezy styles are light and airy, an easygoing beach chic that shows off your active lifestyle. Hair flows in natural waves dried by the ocean breeze and summer sun. Easy, relaxed updos pair beautifully with sundresses for a day at the beach. Jump in the surf with a quick top knot high on the head or a half-up top knot for a style that lets you play all day with that ‘effortlessly cool’ look. Add a splash of bright bold color with a scarf or fun hair ties for a pop of pizazz. Dresses are casual and gauzy, fun and flirty, and nautical fashions take on a sexy vibe with body-skimming silhouettes. Activewear with scuba styling is hot hot hot, taking you beyond the water to playful beachside fun. (top)

L etting Your Summer Beauty Glow By Adriana Vater
Shine on with summer beauty that shows off your glowing skin and natural spirit. Getting those beach locks and sunkissed skin is easy with a few tips from the trade: Smooth and tame tresses with a leave-in conditioner, which enhances curls without the frizz and keeps straight hair from curling up. Leavein conditioners also give your hair a beautiful shine. Using your hands, work in a small amount through the ends of your hair in the morning. This should keep your style in check the whole day. Liven limp hair with a non-greasy texturizer such as Aveda’s Light Elements Shaping Wax, for that “just rolled out of bed and I look GORGEOUS” hair. Put a dab or two at the roots of your hair for volume. Use it to segment hair for piece-y, unstructured hold. Tres chic. Tinted moisturizers will lend a dewy glow to your face without the grease. Choose one that has SPF protection so your products do double-duty. Don’t forget to protect lips from the sun with SPF-infused lip balms. Aveda’s Lip Savers are SPF-15 waterproof wonders that add a hint of color. Photo by John Vater
Refresh sunburnt skin with an Outer Peace Cooling Masque, to calm and cool your skin after a long beach day. Aveda’s Intensive Hydrating Masque calms and hydrates with aloe, kelp, lavender and aromatic rosewater, making it great for over-exposed cheeks, nose and shoulders.

T
Tedeschi the Traveler Top 10 Cuba
1.
Plaza de Catedral & Plaza de Armas- beautiful cobble stone squares and architecture to admire. Great book stands and places to buy antiques.
2.
Plaza de San Francisco de Asis-great religious museum housed in an old convent in this square and it is enjoyable to view the details of the buildings in this square.
3.
The Malecon is a beach front promendade. People walk along the Malecon and hang out along the water’s edge. It is breathtaking to view the spectacular water and see the locals enjoying each other and their surroundings. As you sit along the Malecon you can stare at crumbling baroque buildings and imagine what they must have looked like at their prime.
4.
Los Presidentes Avenue and Plaza de la Revolucion- Revolution Square which is the site of many rallies led by Fidel Castro.
5.
Finca Vigia or “lookout house” is a few miles east of Havana. It is where you can visit the home of Ernest Hemingway. At this home is where Hemingway is said to have wrote two of his most well known novels- For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Old Man and the Sea.
6.
The beaches in Cuba are long with white sand and one of the country’s greatest assets. The town of Varadero is situated on the Playa Azul. It is one of Cuba’s top resort areas. Mansion Xanadu is a must see and if possible stay for lunch. The views are breathtaking.
7.
Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes [Fine Arts Museum]- it is housed in two buildings that display cuban art and international art. Some of my favorite pieces include the Cathedral of Havana by Fabelo, “kidnapping of the mulattos” 1938 by Carlos Enriquez who was influenced by Friedo Coelho, “el tercer mundo” 1965-66 by Wilfredo Lam who was influenced by Pablo Picasso and his work reflects Afro Cuban culture. Enriquez was able to introduce ideas in Cuban religious society. His use of colors helps to enhance meaning. For example, green to depict woods and open spaces in which people need to live in order to display energy. Picasso said, “I had to travel to Africa to know about the beauty, but you had all the ingredients in the Cuban society.”
8.
Art neighborhood- Jose Fuster’s Home is a magical place. This artist has transformed his house and neighborhood into a beautiful homage to famous Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi.
9.
Tropicana- a fixture of Havana’s night scene. It opened in 1939. It is a Vegas style cabaret show that has more than 200 performers including showgirls and amazing gymnasts.
10.
Vintage cars- one of the most iconic symbols of Cuba is the classic car. Time seems to have stood still for five decades on Cuban roads. Roughly one in every eight cars dates back to before the revolution. Most are American classics from the 1950’s. The majority of these old cars can be found in Havana. Some of the vintage autos you will see include 1955 Chevrolet bel air, 1958 Edsel Corsair, 1951 Pontiac Chieftain, and 1950 Studebaker Champion just to name a few.

Stop and Stare Media and Management announces the signing of the artist
DEAN JAMES SILVA and his band the Dean James Silva Band
Stop and Stare Media and Management (stopanstarrmm.com) and Dean James Silva are thrilled to announce the release of the latest album “ The soundtrack of My Life” which consist of _______________ songs. The title cut from the soon to be released CD will be the song, I Hate You which is a hard hitting uniquely different rock and roll tune about the trial and tribulations about relationships. After decades of touring the music scene Dean James Silva, the songwriter behind the DJS Band took a long break from the music scene as he battled addition to opiates. One he reflects on as he wondered if he could ever “Find his way home” (Another hit single for the CD) Since his return about a year ago, Dean James Silva (The DJSB) has recently exploded onto today's local music scene, but this is absolutely NOT an overnight success story... Having played in bands since the age of 15, Dean is a "battle tested Veteran" of a musician with a relentless hunger to pursue his musical endeavors.. The multi-instrumentalist has conquered substance abuse and the personal demons that go hand in hand with it. That struggle had side-lined Dean for the past 20 years. ...He's back. And writing some of the best music that has ever written. With many years of living an opiate free existence under his belt, he's again begun living his dream as he would never have had the opportunity to do just a few short years ago. Making music and
performing live is what keeps Dean pounding his keyboards at 2:00am even on a day off from the road. “Dean connects with audiances across every stage he gracews and the crowd often deeply assimilates with his music and the true life experiences behind his lyrics” “He is a master song writer who has worked tirelessly to hone his writing and piano skills.” His lyrics and music could only have been written as the by-product of one's darkest years and experiences. It's a very personal look into the frailties of the human experience gone badly, but don't think for a moment that this composer is a "one trick pony" by any means. His songs also scream of hope, faith and the "light at the end of the tunnel"...no matter how long and dark the tunnel may have seemed at times...DJSB captures the thoughts, nightmares, feelings of desperation as well as redemption, exceptionally well. Disturbing yet Inspirational (Live and Learn), sometimes melancholy (Baby Blue), but always cut to the bone, personally revealing and highly recognizable straight ahead ROCK (I Hate You), THE DJSB will engage you in a way that's highly compelling and at the same time comfortable and instantly recognizable... With a new management deal in place (Stop & Stare Management) and a new working relationship with Omni pop and his Billy Joel tribute
band (Angry Young Men) he's mixing in a few original songs and it seems he's well on his way to accomplishing something very few other artists have the opportunity to do. Play music for a living exclusively, while simultaneously writing and recording original music with his band mates.
“DEAN CONNECTS WITH AUDIANCES ACROSS EVErY STAGE HE GRACES AND THE CROWD OFTEN DEEPLY ASSIMILATES WITH HIS MUSIC AND THE TRUE LIFE EXPErIANCES BEHIND HIS LYRICS”
The DJSB debut Cd, "The Soundtrack Of My Life", is available on iTunes and Google Play, along with many other streaming sites. The DJSB consists of veteran New York musicians: Lee Nelson on drums: Lee has played with multi-platinum artists such as Katy Perry and Joe Perry (Aerosmith, Joe Perry Project) and Evan Seinfeld (Biohazard), amongst many others. Lee has also toured along side Black Label Society, Buckcherry, as well as members of Tyketto and Ministry. Joe Cumia on bass: Besides his internationally touring U2 Tribute band "2U", Joe has played Guitar and/or Bass with some of the greatest singer/songwriters and musicians of today and yesterday, including the late Peppi Marchello (The Good Rats), Hugo Valenti
(Valentine), Mike Morales (Steve Augeri Band) and Brian Desveaux (Nine Days)... Brian McKeever on lead guitar: Brian is one of the most sought after gutartists in America. Constantly in demand for his versatility and virtuosity, Brian is a seasoned professional who has been playing live and recording for over 20 years all across the USA. This summer The Dean James Silva Band will be doing a promotional marketing tour in Manhattan in conjunction with Stop and Stare Media. The push will be to further expand the audience and DJSB brand awareness and the platforms in which his music reaches. Look for The DJSB billboard truck throughout Manhattan this summer with live performances. It looks like all of the planets are in alignment for this amazing "not so new" band. They are HEADLINING at the premier live music venue on Long Island, 89 North, in Patchogue NY, on Saturday, June 4th. On the strength of their CD and enthusiasm of their fans, they've been bestowed with the honor of headlining this show! (An unprecedented occurrence at this venue btw). Tickets for this show are available at: http://89northmusic.com/days/d-06-04-2016/?eid=2401 Tracks from the debut release by DJSB "The Soundtrack Of My Life" is also available for a free listen at: Reverbnation.com/deanjamessilva1 For Bookings concerning Dean James Silva please contact Charles Cestaro Stop and Stare media and management 888 Roll My Ad

Poolscaping Makes a Bigger Splash by Adding Adjacent Amenities
O
ften it’s what surrounds a backyard pool that makes the difference between having a pool in your backyard and having a pool in the backyard that represents only part of a totally fulfilling outdoor experience. Hardscaping materials such as interlocking concrete pavers, cast stone steps and manufactured wall units in a continuum of styles and colors, easily correlate with other similarly produced materials for pool coping, steps into the water, built-in raised spas, custom waterfalls and overall milieu. But it doesn’t end there. Color palettes, textures and creative arrangements of shapes can stage a countryside, seaside, or mountainside mood. And because the colors of pavers, for example those from Cambridge with ArmorTec®, are specially formulated to resemble hues found in natural rock formations, pool designers often place large boulders around water slides, in backdrops, as accents, and under diving boards for supplementary effects. Cambridge also offers pavers made from natural quarried stone and travertine to give designers an even broader pavement selection when mixing elements. Calming Coping Mechanisms Pool coping, which separates the pool itself from the adjoining pool deck, is usually cantilevered over the edge of the pool. As opposed fiberglass or plastic, it can be built from matching pavers, cast stone or capping materials such as those adaptable from several Cambridge Collections. The various surface and edge designs range from a bull-nosed (rounded) edge that faces the pool to other styles that more closely resemble surrounding pavers. Surfaces vary from smooth to shapes with pronounced, bluestone-like clefts. Create a relaxing or “party central” setting Depending on the available space at hand, many conveniences can be permanently placed in close proximity to the pool. You may want to consider a curtained-off pergola; a bistro-style umbrella table; a refreshment bar; a fire pit for small gatherings; and an open-air kitchen, grill island or even an authentic, wood-fired pizza oven for a range of outdoor cooking options. Cambridge offers all of these along with outdoor fireplaces and freestanding, pond-less waterfalls as well as other fire and water features and accent lighting made especially for hardscapes, to add sensual ambiences. Whatever you decide, the outcome will be a common ground for everyone. Enjoy a peaceful, easy poolside feeling Benefits range from slip-resistant surfaces to little or no
maintenance requirements and easy access to underground utilities around the pool. (Concrete pavers are interlocked in bedding sand without mortar.) With help of Cambridge Design Kits, pre-packaged kits and fully-assembled components, your contractor will appreciate the uncomplicated installs. Also, ArmorTec® colors are made to last even when under intense sun. Getting started Details and photos of pool and poolside treatments, colors and installation patterns for bringing together the perfect poolscape can be found in a complimentary, Cambridge Outdoor Living Room Guide. The 100 plus-page book is available at any Authorized Cambridge Distributor or by visiting cambridgepavers.com. When the time is right to push the “go” button, consult a professional contractor for budget, timeline, best materials to use to achieve your specific objectives, and final design.
Charles H. Gamarekian is the Chairman/CEO of Cambridge Pavers Inc. He is one of the founders and a current board member of the Interlocking Pavement Institute. Organized in 1993, ICPI is the North American trade association representing the interlocking concrete paver industry and considered by peer associations around the world as the leader in development and dissemination of technical information for design professionals and contractors. Mr. Gamarekian is recognized worldwide as an expert in his field and is a frequent speaker on the proper installation of pavingstones, wallstones and many outdoor living products.
