Lions Congratulate Weald School’s Green Power Project Wins
illingshurst & District Lions Club was pleased to support the Weald School’s Green Power Project team and congratulate them on their recent success in winning both the National and International finals at Goodwood, with their battery powered car, Bluebird, in races organised by the Greenpower Education Trust. Social Media Manager for the team, Gracie Shaw, says, “Thanks to the donation from the Lions, we put the money towards parts for the cars and drivers, which allowed us to excel in the championships.” Greenpower car racing involves cars built by students aged 11 to 16, enabling them to learn mechanical, electrical and computer skills, making decisions and to take risks in a safe environment; inspiring them towards a future career in Engineering. Choose a number from 1 to 100 and write either your telephone number or preferred contact details in as many squares as you wish for £1 a square and help support local communities.
