4th Devotees Convention (Manadu) of Malaysia Ramakrishna Mission
The Vivekananda Margam in Kuala Lumpur is one of the 8 Centres that have a close association with the Belur Math’s official branch of the Ramakrishna Mission at Kuala Lumpur which is headed by Swami Supriyananda. 2017. On the occasion of the Manadu, Swami Shivamayananda ji Maharaj, the Vice-President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission was a specially invited guest. He inaugurated the Conference by lighting a lamp kept in front of the well-decorated Holy Trio pictures. The lamp was also lighted by the other 3 Swamis namely his Secretary Swami Durgananda, Swami Vimokshananda and Swami Supriyananda.

He brought out the wonderful meetings of some of the then Scientists of the USA who happened to see and discuss with Swami Vivekananda and how they got inspiration from him.

Srimat Swami Shivamayananda ji Maharaj in his Benedictory Address expressed his happiness and explained how every temporal and mundane activity can be turned into a spiritual tool. The Malaysia devotees performed a ‘Yati Puja’ called ‘Thuravigalai Gauravitthal’ ceremony. In rounding up the Convention, Swami Supriyananda concluded by thanking everyone for the hearty contribution in cash and kind and also in loving labour for the success of the Convention and prayed for the blessings of the Holy Trio. The devotees presented three programmes which were appreciated by all. In the morning session, the Devotees of Seremban presented a skit 'Shodashi
Puja – the Glory of Holy Mother’. In the afternoon session, the Kuala Lumpur devotees sang devotional songs beautifully blending in different languages namely Sanskrit, Hindi, Bengali and Tamil. Smt Madhavi Murali presented a charming Harikatha in English 'Sri Kali Darshan' depicting the life of Sri Ramakrishna from birth to the vision of Mother Kali Bhavatarini. The children of the Vivekananda Bala Vihar of the Malaysia Ramakrishna Mission sang beautiful songs at the close of every speech. Earlier Most Revered Swami Shivamayananda ji Maharaj was given a
traditional welcome at the adjacent Sri Kandaswamy Temple by its Trustees with the Nadaswaram music and arati to Lord Muruga. He made sashtanga pranam to the deities. On entering the Kalamandapam Hall Revered Maharaj and other Swamis went through the Vivekananda Exhibition organised by the Margam.

Ghatshila Ramakrishna Math
Ghatshila is a small town in the district of East Singhbhum of Jharkhand State in India. It is about 40 Kms towards east of Jamshedpur and about 210 Kms to the west of Kolkata. The Erstwhile Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama which was started in 1935 at Dahigora in Ghatshila was affiliated to the Ramakrishna Math, Belur Math in May 2004 and was renamed Ramakrishna Math, Ghatshila. The Ashrama at Ghatshila was blessed by the visit of Swami Vijnanananda Maharaj, one of the Direct Disciples of Sri Ramakrishna in the year 1936. The Ashrama stands on a one-acre land. It has a small Temple with a marble image of Sri Ramakrishna installed in the shrine, a few rooms for the monks to stay, a Charitable Dispensary, a Computer Centre, a Guesthouse for the Devotees and the Ashrama office.
Swami Natarajananda is the Adhyaksha (President) of the Ghatshila Ramakrishna Math. He arrived in Singapore on 18 December and left for India via Malaysia on 30 December 2017. During his stay here, he participated in many programmes like Christmas Eve on 24th, Spiritual Retreat on 25th, Home Satsangs and also did Nitya Puja and Mangalarati prayers on many occasions. 179 BARTLEY ROAD | SINGAPORE 539784
Activities at a glance… • Daily worship, bhajans, weekly religious classes, and occasional discourses in and outside the premises. • A charitable allopathic-cumHomoeopathic dispensary, which treated 2827 patients this year. • A free coaching centre with 35 students who were also provided with nutritious supplements and educational materials. • Celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Vijnanananda and other religious teachers and also festivals like Durga Puja, Kali Puja etc. • Welfare work by way of providing blankets, mosquito-nets etc to poor people. • A mobile medical unit (4353 patients treated) and one eye camp (93 patients operated on).
