Kalpataru Day On a solemn note, the Kalpataru Festival began at 6:15 am on t he fir s t of January 2018. The Temple of Sri Ramakrishna wore a decorated look. The Mangalarati at the Temple was the first activity performed in the New Year. S w a m i Satyalokananda led the assembled devotees in hymnal chanting and bhajans. Welcoming every one present, Swami Vimokshananda underlined the importance of Kalpataru Day in the lives of all devotees. He said that this day coincided with the birth tithi of Swami Turiyananda, one of the Direct monastic disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. He also conveyed the blessings of Most Revered Swami Shivamayananda ji Maharaj, Vice-President of the Ramakrishna Order to everyone. He further said that the health condition
of Revered Maharaj was improving. Swami Durgananda, the Secretary to the Vice-president Maharaj briefly explained about the Kalpataru and read out the relevant passages from the celebrated book “Sri Ramakrishna and His Divine Play�. All devotees were served with breakfast prasad. Most Revered Vice-President Maharaj gave Darshan to scores of devotees at the Cultural Building lounge. Throughout the day people were seen coming and participating in the Japa Yajna session that began after the breakfast and continued till 12 Noon. In the evening session, after arati to Sri Ramakrishna, a large number of devotees participated in the bhajan singing. About 300 people visited the ashram on the auspicious Kalpataru Day.

Vice-President Maharaj returns to Kolkata Revered Swami Shivamayanandaji, Vice-President Maharaj returned to Kolkata on Friday 5 January 2018. His health condition improved after taking treatment here. On the last day the staff of Ashram and Boys’ Home
received blessings from him. He also visited Sarada KG School and WINGS Counselling Centre in the forenoon. At Sarada KG, Principal Pushpa welcomed him. At WINGS the Director Hema welcomed him. He evinced great interest in seeing the new documentary movie on WINGS CC. He heartily appreciated all seva activities.

HEB Officials visit WINGS Counselling Centre
Sri Jayachandran R, the Chairman of the Hindu Endowments Board (HEB) along with Sri Raj Sekharan, CEO of HEB paid a courtesy visit to WINGS Counselling Centre (WCC) on Thursday, 28 December 2017. They were received warmly by Swami Vimokshananda. Ms. Hema, the Director of WINGS took them round the WINGS Campus and explained the present activities. Sri Jayachandran, on behalf of HEB presented a cheque for S$ 20,000 as a

HEB Officials visit WINGS donation to WINGS. In a meeting that ensued, Sri Jayachandran and Sri Raj Sekharan made valuable suggestions regarding augmenting financial
needs for smoothly running this great service to the society. A 4 minute movie on WINGS was shown to them. They appreciated the different forms of Counselling to different sections of the population and encouraged to bring the services to public focus so that more and more people can avail of the facility available in Singapore. The discussions were joined by Ms. Soundarya, a Member of the Ramakrishna Mission Advisory Committee.
