What is The Intellectuals’ Challenge?
The Intellectuals’ Challenge (TIC) is an international competition for students aged 14-18. TIC provides an exciting opportunity for young intellectual minds across the world to come together, expand their knowledge and share ideas that will help change the world. Working in groups, students face different challenges in five subjects over four days. If you enjoy thinking, writing and public speaking in an academically stimulating environment, then this is the challenge for you!
Young intellectuals will share their creative ideas, develop their multidisciplinary academic skills and unlock their potential by participating in a range of individual and team challenges. By taking part in this unique opportunity, students will also build self-confidence, develop collaborative teamwork skills and create new friendships.

The Intellectuals’ Challenge encompasses various academic disciplines including art, design, history, literature, culture, economics, business, philosophy, music, science and technology. Every year, the challenge has a different theme and takes place in a different city around the world. The penultimate day includes an outing to London and a fantastic awards ceremony to celebrate everyone’s achievements.

Our Story The Intellectuals’ Challenge is rooted in the desire to give young people a chance to grow and develop as individuals in every capacity. We believe that young and inquisitive minds should be given the opportunity to expand their knowledge and share their ideas in a stimulating environment, which is exactly what the Challenge is all about!
Who is Owly?
Across the world, owls are a symbol of intelligence, perspective, brilliance, wisdom, knowledge and independence. We believe that this intriguing nocturnal bird also inspires knowledge and wisdom, bringing mysteries out of the dark. “Owly, our mascot, represents these qualities and he joins our challengers on every step of their journey.
