LET’S CELEBRATE Arbor Day is something the world shares in common. Arbor Day (arbor is Latin for “tree”) is an annual holiday that promotes the planting and caring of trees. The first official Arbor Day in the United States was held in 1872, and today similar celebrations are staged around the world, from Japan to Brazil to Uganda.
1 WINE = 21,505 TREES PLANTED To date, The Arborist by Vina Robles has helped plant more than 21,505 trees. Through our partnership with One Tree Planted, we plant trees with a portion of the proceeds from every bottle of The Arborist. One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make tree planting easy for everyone—all to create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world.
THE WINE The Arborist is a uniquely bold red blend from our sustainably grown estate vineyards in Paso Robles. This fairly priced twist-top blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Tannat is a complex yet easygoing bottling. Dark plum, iodine, charred beef and violet aromas drop into a hearty, rich palate of black berry jam and smoked meat, with delicate garden herb elements on the finish.
ARBORIST Noun - ahr-ber-ist / a caretaker of trees Vina Robles founder Hans Nef was known for his love of trees. In fact, he and his business partner, Hans – R. Michel, made the conscience decision to plant the vineyards around the oaks, eliminating the need to cut any down. They then named the winery after the great oaks of Paso Robles (robles is Spanish for “oaks”). The tree depicted on our label still stands today at our Jardine Vineyard. An arborist helped us restore this ailing tree in 2014, allowing us all to benefit from its continued beauty and positive environmental impact.
