"Even with the book sales, the ranch still needed more money. And now, trouble was coming.”

Ken said, "We’ve sold so many books, but it’s still not enough."

Missy sighed, "I know. Dad says the bank is getting impatient."

Nana reassured them, "Hard work and faith will get us through this. But we must be ready."

"Ben Johnson arrived, and when he did, trouble followed."

Ben smirked, "Well, well, looks like your little operation is still standing… for now.”

Mr. G folded his arms, "What do you want, Ben?"

Ben chuckled, "Just checking in. I’d hate to see this place go under. Maybe it’s time you sell."

"Ben Johnson wanted the ranch. But Missy and her friends wouldn’t let that happen.”

Missy said,

"This ranch is our home! We’ll find a way to save it."

Ben

chuckled, "That’s cute. But dreams don’t pay the bills, kid."
"Mr. G wasn’t afraid of Ben, but he knew things were getting serious.”

Mr.

G said, "We’re not selling, Ben. Not now. Not ever."

Ben

smirked, "We’ll see about that."
"Ben had his own plans. He wasn’t going to give up that easily.
"Ben muttered to himself, "If they won’t sell, I’ll make sure they have no choice."
"The book was selling, but not fast enough.”

Brooke frowned, "We’re

making money, but we still need more."

Whit suggested, "What

if we get more people to help us sell?"

Missy nodded, "That’s

a great idea! Let’s ask the town for help."

"The town of Brite Star believed in the ranch. People started spreading the word about the book.”

Mrs. Thompson said, "I’ll put some books in my store!"

Mr. Watkins added, "I’ll write an article about the ranch for the local paper."

"But then, the worst news came. A foreclosure notice.”

Sam

asked, "What does this mean?" Mr. G sighed, "It means we’re running out of time."
"But Missy and her friends refused to give up.”

Missy said, "We’ll keep fighting, no matter what."

Nana smiled, "That’s the spirit, my dear. Hard times only last if we let them."

"They had one last chance to save the ranch. And they weren’t going to waste it.”
Ken said, "We have to think bigger. We need a miracle."

Sam

grinned, "Then we’ll make one happen!"

"They worked tirelessly, coming up with a plan to raise enough money in time.”

Whit said, "Maybe we can host a community fair at the ranch!"

Brooke added, "And invite everyone to see what we do here. If they love the ranch, they’ll want to help save it!"

Missy nodded, "Let’s make it the biggest event Brite Star has ever seen!"

"The odds were against them, but they weren’t going down without a fight. The future of Brite Star Ranch depended on them.”

Nana said, "No matter what happens, I’m proud of you all."

Missy smiled, "We’re going to give it everything we’ve got."

Think About:

1. Why does Ben Johnson want Brite Star Ranch?

2. How do Missy and the 4 Sisters respond to challenges?

3. Have you ever faced a big problem? How did you solve it?
