DISCOVERY PARK SKYLAB FALL2011 | ARCH300 | PROF. NINA FRANEY | The premise of this project is to create an environment learning center that responds to the site. The idea is to create a folded plane that acts as a continuation of the ground towards the bluff. The folding creates floating spaces that act as the more public lab and outlook.. It also fold downwards to create the more private and secure camp space that is retained by the retaining wall installed on the bluff.

JAPANESE PAPER MILL SPRING 2012 | ARCH302 | PROF. JEN DEE + CHARLIE ANDERSON We’re commisioned to design a custom paper mill for five Janapese paper artists. The structure will be used for making the paper and providing spaces to create the paper art. The lower level will be used as the paper making space while the upper floor is used as the artist’s studio spaces. Stereometric structure represent the nature that gives materials. Tectonic structure will convey the strenous process of paper making. Skylights allow blessing from the gods as the papers are dried

CENTRO CULTURALE A TESTACCIO FALL2012 | ARCH400: ROME STUDY ABROAD | PROF. PETER COHAN, JEN DEE, GALEN MINAH | The objective of this project is to make a cultural center in the Testaccio area in Rome, Italy. In order to successfully gather multicultural people in the area, the building uses the courtyard system, which is always familiar in the Italian culture as a place to gather in a typical housing configuration. This courtyard will act as a center of everything providing flexibility and ease of circulations between activities.
