30 The Brick Run from the Inglewood Railway Station at 1.30pm

In 1905 Henry Ford built an experimental tractor out of Ford car partsmounted on a crude frame. He called it an Automobile Plow. His Theory was that a small, light(and therefore cheap) tractor would be more suitable for the small farmer than the Traction Engines that were in vogue at the time. The prototype lacked traction and tended to overheat but Ford used it on his farm for several years as he perfected it. This replica is the same size and shape as the original, but is made with Model ‘T’ parts rather than the pre 1905 car parts that Henry used.

The original Automobile Plow resides in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan U.S.A.
