The Big Wheel and Star Flyer are back soaring above the city skyline and look out for some new attractions down in Santa Land this year. The wonderful elliptical ice rink also returns to St Andrew Square.
SILENT LIGHT
Over at the Spiegeltent in Festival Square, La Clique returns with La Clique Noël - Part Deux and an adaptation of the children’s book You Choose for families. Christmas celebrations return to George Street but not quite as before. ‘Silent Light’ is a fusion of Street of Light and Silent Adventures silent disco, with 50p of every ticket sold going to the OneCity Trust, raising much-needed funds for Edinburgh’s social inclusion charity. The celebrations launch with Light Night on 18 November, where our famous Christmas tree – a civic gift from Norway – lights up on the Mound against a full sky of fireworks, and local groups take to stages along George Street for an all-singing all-dancing event bringing the community together. I would like to wish a very Merry Christmas to all of our visitors and residents and I hope you have an enjoyable Festive season.
